Chapter 69
KIELYR
5 MONTHS LATER
There were a couple of moments I wished I could’ve shared with
Rellian by my side.
His birthday and mine, for example. Or spring break, finals, and
graduation.
Though he might not have been with me through all that in person, he
was already there over the phone.
I graduated junior year at the top of my class, and so did Rellian. We
put so much effort into school the past half year, and it definitely paid off.
All those nights we stayed up studying together and reading to each other
helped me through all those tests, helped me master them.
Ellie and I packed up the whole house. Well, we sold most of the
furniture, but everything we wanted to bring to North Kingstown was
already boxed up and inside two moving trucks.
It was Saturday, June 4th, just one day after school was finally over,
and we were putting the last two suitcases with our clothes into the back of
Ellie’s car.
“They’re going to be so surprised,” I said, grinning up at her.
Dad and Rellian were expecting us in two weeks, because Ellie was
certain that we’d still need that much time to finish packing and cleaning.
We were done with it all way earlier though, so we decided to surprise
them and leave already.
“Ready?” she asked, a heavy, freeing sigh leaving her chest.
I nodded. “Never been more ready.”
It was hard not telling Rellian that we were driving to North
Kingstown at this very moment, but I would do my best not to ruin the
surprise.

Chapter 70
RELLIAN
After all the intensive studying I’ve done these past months, I was
finally free to do whatever I wanted to.
To relax and not worry about grades. To spend time with my friends,
climb more, and to finally have Kielyr be here with me.
There were two weeks left until she finally came, and while I would
have to keep my hands to myself when I first saw her, I promised myself to
show her just how much I missed her once we were alone. We had talked
every day, just like I promised her.
“Champ, you still home?” Dad called out from downstairs.
I got up from the bed, adjusting my swim shorts and grabbing my
phone to head downstairs.
When he saw me, he nodded toward the front door. “Come help with
the groceries.”
I followed him outside to the driveway where his car was parked, the
trunk open.
“When are you leaving?” he asked, grabbing one of the bags and
giving it to me.
Brady called earlier, asking me if I would be up to go to the beach with
the others, and I agreed. I wouldn’t be doing anything else anyway. Besides
missing Kielyr.
“Brady’s picking me up any time soon.”
“When will you be home again tonight?”
“I’m not sure yet. Did you plan on cooking something tonight?”
Whenever it was this hot in the summer, Dad and I usually only ate a big
breakfast and something lighter for dinner.
“Was planning on making a salad and putting some chicken wings on
the grill.”
“Sounds good. I can come home around seven.”
Dad nodded.
We carried the groceries inside, then I heard Brady’s car pull up. “See
you later, Dad.”
“Take care. And don’t do anything stupid,” he warned.
I chuckled and gave him a quick hug, then I grabbed the towel and my
water bottle I had prepared earlier and headed outside.
I got into the passenger side, greeting Brady with a quick handshake.
“Where’s Rosie?” I asked as I put on my seatbelt.
“She’s already there with Gloria and Darius. We’re picking up Lyle
and Mason.”
I nodded and got my phone out to check my messages. Kielyr hadn’t
texted me yet, but I knew she was busy packing.
I wanted to check in and started typing a message as Brady nudged my
arm with his elbow. “When’s Kielyr finally moving?”
Looking up from my phone, I let out a heavy sigh. “Two weeks. My
days need to go by real fast.”
He laughed. “We’ll find way to distract you until she’s here. We’ll
hang out, go to The Lighthouse, and I’m sure you’ll be spending lots of
time climbing as well. She’ll be here in no time.”
I hoped so.
My heart was aching, my lips tingling with anticipation to kiss her
again.
I looked back to my phone and continued to type my message to her.
Rellian
Hey, baby Big packing day ahead of you? I wish I could come and
help you. I’m spending the day at the beach with my friends. I can’t wait for
the day to take you swimming in the ocean. You’ll love it. It’s really fucking
hot here. Love you, sweet girl.
Right after receiving my message, she read it and started writing back.
I didn’t take my eyes off my phone, impatiently waiting for her text to
appear.
Kielyr
Hi That sounds like so much fun. I wish I was there. I miss you so so so
so so so much! I love you too, Lee.
Her text was a little off.
I couldn’t quite figure out why, but something was missing. More
words. More depth.
But I didn’t read too much into it. Didn’t want to bother her while she
needed to pack.
I smiled and sent her two more heart emojis.
Two weeks. I’ll be okay.
Time will go by fast for sure.
***
“Are you leaving already?” Rosie asked me as she sat down on her
towel. She had just come out of the water.
“Uh, yeah. I told Dad that I’d be home by seven, and Darius is driving
home right now, so he’ll drop me off.” I put my shirt on and then wrapped
my damp towel over my shoulders.
“Okay.” She smiled up at me, holding up her hand to cover her eyes
from the sun. “You miss her, hm?”
I laughed when I felt tears stinging my eyes. When the guys asked me
the same, I didn’t get this emotional.
“Aw Rellian.” She got back up and hugged me, her hands gently
rubbing my back, and I placed my hand on her waist gently to show her my
appreciation.
After hugging for a moment, she took a step back but kept her hands
on my shoulders, her smile kind and soft.
Rosie was a beautiful girl, her dark blue eyes and dirty blonde hair
matching the softness of her face. Despite being one of the most popular
girls at school, she didn’t fit into the box most popular girls were put into.
“I can only imagine how hard it was to be apart for so many months.
But she’ll be here soon, and I know your relationship will only get stronger.
You’re both so devoted to each other. It was so beautiful to watch you two
on new year’s. You’re truly meant for each other.”
And there I was. Crying at the beach.
“Shit.” A breathy laugh came out of me, and I rubbed my forefinger
and thumb across my eyes. “I really needed to hear that. Thanks, Ro.” I
pulled her into another hug.
“You’re so welcome, Rellian. I can’t wait to hang out with Kielyr
again.”
She was going to be such a good friend to her. Gloria too.
“Rellian!”
I turned to look toward the parking lot where Darius was standing next
to his open car door.
“I’m coming!” I called back to him. I turned to Rosie once more and
said goodbye, then I waved at the others who were still in the water,
throwing a small soccer ball back and forth.
One day already passed. Now there were thirteen more to go until I
held her in my arms.

Chapter 71
RELLIAN
After getting home, I went to take a shower, then I headed back
downstairs to help Dad with dinner.
He made me cut up some vegetables while he marinated the chicken
wings. “How was the beach?”
“It was fun. You should come hang out with us sometime.”
He laughed. “Hang out with you kids? I’d rather not. Don’t need to
hear all the gossip going around in this town.”
“Gossip? What are you, a woman in her fifties?”
“What? You kids talk crap about each other all the time, no?” He was
messing with me at this point. He knew out of all the kids in this town, me
and my group of friends never gossiped or talked shit about others. Why
would we? Our friendships were for a lifetime.
“Whatever, Dad. Here. Salad’s done.” I put all the vegetables into the
bowl with the freshly washed lettuce.
“Put it into the fridge until the wings are ready.”
I placed the bowl into the fridge and then grabbed a can of Sprite. Ever
since new year’s, Sprite seemed to have become my favorite soda. It made
me think of Kielyr.
God…I missed that girl so fucking much.
Dad walked outside into the garden to put the wings onto the grill, and
as I was about to follow him, I heard a car drive up to the house.
“Are we expecting someone?” I asked, trying to peek outside the small
window on the front door.
“Why?”
“Someone’s just parked in our driveway,” I said.
“Probably just someone using it to turn around.”
The car didn’t leave again though, and I suspected that maybe Brady
came to drop something off that I might’ve forgotten at the beach. “I’ll go
check who it is.”
I walked through the living room and directly to the front door. The
second I opened it, my heart stood still.
Kielyr was standing there in the driveway, her hair pulled back into a
loose ponytail, pretty jean shorts sitting perfectly on her hips, and an old
graphic tee knotted in the front because it was too big for her.
Her smile was so damn beautiful, and her eyes were glowing. They
were so striking, they made the low summer sun shine even brighter.
I wanted to run to her. Pull her into my arms and hug her so damn
tightly. I wanted to kiss her. Taste her. Fuck, I wanted to take her right
upstairs. But I couldn’t.
Ellie got out of the car, and she was the one breaking the silence.
“Surprise!” She came up to me with her arms wide open, and I hugged
her, but my eyes stayed on Kielyr.
She smiled softly as she watched us hug, and once Ellie let go, I
managed to tear my gaze off my girl.
“You’re speechless! I take that as a good sign. Are you surprised?”
“Very,” I breathed, wishing I could finally hold Kielyr. “What
happened? I thought you were still packing.”
“We finished early. We wanted to surprise you guys. The moving
trucks will be here any minute too.”
“Ellie?” Dad came up behind me, and Ellie immediately walked
around me to hug him. They kissed, unable to hold back their happiness.
Something I wished I could’ve done with Kielyr.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Dad asked, his laugh filled with
confusion.
I didn’t listen to their conversation. I started walking toward Kielyr,
pulling her into my arms as soon as I was close enough.
She came willingly, her arms wrapping around my waist and the side
of her head pressing against my chest.
“You’re here,” I whispered, remembering the first time I’ve ever
gotten to hold her. It wasn’t the same feeling. It was stronger. So much
fucking stronger.
“Surprise,” she whispered, the smile in her voice low and clear.
“You were lying to me this whole time,” I said, a chuckle coming from
my chest. Of course, I wasn’t mad. I was so damn happy she was already
here. I hated surprises, but this one was perfect.
“I had to. I didn’t want to ruin things for Ellie. She was so set on
surprising Dad,” she explained.
“Kielyr.”
We stepped back as Dad said her name, and I had to accept that I
wasn’t going to be alone for her for a while. I wasn’t the only person she
was excited to see.
“Hi, Dad,” she said as she stepped closer to him and into his arms.
“We’re finally here.”
“Yeah, you are.” Dad rubbed her back, then pressed a kiss to the top of
her head. “I’m so glad. Hell, you girls should’ve told us. We’re making
dinner but there’s not enough wings.”
“Don’t worry about us. We ate a sandwich just an hour ago,” Ellie
said, but Dad and I didn’t think that was enough.
I looked at him, still standing with his arm around Kielyr. “I can head
to the store really quick. Get some more wings and be back in fifteen,” I
suggested.
“I’ll go with you,” Kielyr quickly added, making me smile, and my
heart rate picked up.
We’d have a moment to ourselves.
“Okay, that’s a good idea.” Dad pressed one more kiss to her head,
then he headed inside to grab his wallet, and when he came back, he handed
me his card. “Grab some snacks too. We gotta celebrate.”
I agreed.
But Kielyr and I would celebrate in a different way later.
KIELYR
My heart was pounding in my chest, and I squeezed my fingers
between my thighs as Rellian turned onto the road.
We didn’t say a word.
Our breaths quick, the tension between us strong.
Rellian turned left onto the road that would lead us to the store, but
instead of pressing down on the gas pedal, he slowed down on the side of
the road.
From there, everything happened so quickly.
We unbuckled our seatbelts, his hands gripped my hips, and I climbed
over to sit on his lap.
Our lips collided, and I grabbed his shoulders to hold on to him while
his hands pushed into my hair.
Our breathing was heavy, our hearts beating fast as our bodies pressed
into each other.
“I can’t believe you’re here,” he whispered into the kiss, his tongue
curling around mine shortly after.
I smiled, unable to speak.
I needed this right now.
I needed all of him.
His hardness grew underneath me, and though I was ready to have sex
right there in the middle of the street, I knew it wouldn’t happen. I’d have to
wait until we were alone tonight.
When his hands moved from my hair to my cheeks, his lips slowed,
and Rellian tilted his head more to the side to deepen the kiss.
I couldn’t get enough of him.
His tongue dipped deeper, then he pulled back and pressed three long,
gentle kisses to my lips before leaning back and looking into my eyes. He
chuckled, unable to keep all those mixed emotions inside of him. “I can’t
fucking believe you’re here. God, look at you. You’re so damn beautiful.
Sixteen looks good on you.”
I smiled at him and dropped my hands to our lap, playing with the hem
of his shirt while I kept my eyes on his. I missed those icy blues. I missed
getting lost in them.
“And seventeen looks good on you,” I replied, admiring his perfect
face and that amazing wavy hair of his.
We celebrated each other’s birthdays on facetime. We lit a candle once
we were alone in our bedrooms, and we ate cake while telling each other all
about our wishes.
It was cheesy, but with the circumstances surrounding us, I couldn’t
have wished for a better way to spend my sixteenth birthday.
“We’re gonna spend the night in the shed,” he said to me, making it
sound like a demand. I didn’t care though because that’s what I wanted.
My room wouldn’t be ready anyway. I’d have all the boxes in there by
tonight, and I wasn’t in the mood to unpack just yet.
“I can’t wait,” I told him, leaning in to kiss his lips.
He smiled into the kiss and pulled me closer, his hands now pressed
against my lower back.
“I love you endlessly,” he whispered, and in that very moment, my
heart once again exploded into a million pieces.

Chapter 72
RELLIAN
Her hand was in mine, our fingers interlocked, and we walked into the
store with the biggest smiles on our faces.
I still couldn’t believe she was actually here, and I couldn’t stop
thinking about the things I would do to her tonight in the shed.
I’d make her feel so damn special.
“Do you already know what snacks you want?” I asked her as we
headed to the meats first.
“Hmmm, nachos?”
“Is that a question?” I teased, knowing it would make her laugh.
She did, and she shook her head. “No. I would love to get nachos. And
different dipping sauces.”
“Alright. What about ice cream?”
“Sure.” She leaned into me as we stopped in front of the big fridges
where the poultry was. She rested her head against my shoulder and placed
her right hand on my arm while her left hand squeezed mine.
I placed a kiss to the top of her head, then I studied all the options
before reaching for a bigger pack of fresh chicken wings. “I think this will
be enough. We also made a salad.”
“Yes, I’m sure this will be enough for the four of us,” she agreed, and
so we continued to walk down the aisle to get to the snacks. “Which ones?”
I asked, nodding toward the way too big selection.
I watched her as she studied all the chips in front of her, then she took
a step forward and reached for barbeque flavored nachos. “Are they okay?”
“Yeah, whichever you want,” I assured, smiling at her. “Wanna get
anything else?”
She puckered her lips, and just as she went to grab another pack of
chips, a voice I despised appeared behind us.
“Aren’t you big enough? All those chips won’t help your figure.”
We both turned, facing Harper as she stood there in just a bikini top
and a skirt that barely covered her ass. I sighed. I didn’t have enough
patience for her. Not today. Or ever.
Harper calling my girl fat was wrong. Not only because she wasn’t,
but also because Harper used her hurtful words to make others feel small.
She knew she had that power over most people, and though I was ready to
defend Kielyr, I knew she would handle this situation without me standing
between them.
“Hi, Harper,” Kielyr said in her usual sweet voice. There was no harm
in it. No invisible arrows being thrown in Harper’s direction.
Still, Harper took Kielyr’s words as an immediate and direct attack.
She grimaced, and her inner ugliness once again showed. “God, can you
stop being so fucking innocent? Because you’re not. Don’t act like my
words don’t affect you.”
Damn. Desperation was written all over Harper’s face. She needed to
feel something, but because she was unable to give love, hate was all she
knew. No idea why, but that girl needed a damn reality check.
Kielyr squeezed my hand, and I looked at her, smiling. She smiled
back, her eyes soft when she turned back to look at Harper. “It was nice
seeing you again, Harper. We really have to go now.”
The smooth way of ignoring Harper’s irritation made me grin. My girl
was so damn mature, and she was only sixteen. Hell, she was this mature at
fifteen as well.
As we were about to continue our shopping, Harper let out the most
annoyed groan I’ve ever heard. “What are you grinning about, huh?” This
time, she was talking to me.
I turned again, raising a brow at her. “My girl put it very lightly, but
what she truly wanted to say was, fuck off. She doesn’t want to deal with
your bullshit, Harper. And neither do I.”
“Tsk! That’s not what it looked like every other weekend ever since
she left! Oh, he hasn’t told you. Of course, he hasn’t. He was missing you
so much that he needed to fill the void. Don’t worry, I took good care of
him while you were gone.” Harper’s eyes were burning with so much
hatred that I started to feel bad for her. She continued. “Don’t worry,
sweetie. When you leave again, I’ll make sure he gets off every now and
then.”
Kielyr tensed next to me, and I hoped she didn’t believe a word Harper
said. I looked at her, sighing. “She’s lying, baby.”
“When have I ever lied? For all I know, I’m the most honest girl at
school. Why would I lie about something so harmful to your relationship? I
just wanna protect sweet little Kielyr.”
Kudos to her for saying her name right.
But shit…I couldn’t have her make up shit like that.
Kielyr’s hand left mine, and she took a step away from me, her lips
tight, and her eyes darting at Harper.
“Kielyr, you don’t believe her, do you?” I said, my voice filled with
panic. “Baby—”
“It was nice seeing you again, Harper. It’ll be fun spending senior year
with you.”
With that, she turned on her heels and headed down the aisle, leaving
me standing there with the biggest hole in my chest.
“She’s staying?! She’s gonna ruin my last year of high school!” Harper
squealed.
“You’re a fucking monster,” I hissed.
“Oh get over yourself.” She stood there with her arms crossed over her
chest, and without saying another word to her, I quickly went to find Kielyr.
I found her standing two aisles down, looking at the dipping sauces.
She was mad at me. God, I didn’t want her to believe what Harper said.
“Kielyr.” I went up to her, unsure if touching her was the best thing to
do. Maybe she needed her space.
She looked at me with a tight smile, her eyes filled with sadness. Then
she looked straight ahead again.
“I promise you, nothing happened between me and her. I would never
cheat on you.”
I saw her frown, then she looked at me again and her eyes softened. “I
know.”
“Then…why are you upset?” I put one arm around her shoulders,
pulling her to me and kissing her temple.
She leaned into me which was already a good sign. It took her a
moment to gather her thoughts, and when she turned to look up at me, there
were tears in her eyes.
“I’m upset because I don’t understand how a person can be so cruel.
She doesn’t even know me. She doesn’t know us. Why does she think lying
like that is acceptable?”
Oh my sweet, sweet girl.
I couldn’t help but chuckle. Her inner beauty was showing, and it
always made me love her more.
I wrapped my arms around her and held her tight, kissing the top of
her head as she put her arms around my waist. “I don’t know, baby. But I’m
glad you don’t let her cruelty get to you. She has a lot of growing up to do.
She’ll realize her mistakes eventually.” Or not. I didn’t care. All I cared
about was Kielyr. “I love you, sweet girl.”
“I love you too, Lee. So much.”
It didn’t bother us having this intimate moment in the middle of the
store. I didn’t care who saw.
Whenever my girl needed to be held, I would do it no matter where we
were.

Chapter 73
KIELYR
Same as I’ve done the last time Harper was this rude to me, I pushed
her aside and moved on with my life.
She would come to her senses eventually.
Once we got back to the house—after a quick stop to make out in the
car—Dad put all the wings on the grill, then we ate dinner on the back
porch.
The guys who drove the moving trucks unloaded everything into the
garage where Dad told them to put the boxes. He said we would unpack
everything in the morning. That tonight we should relax after the long drive
we had today.
I watched as Ellie and Dad talked and laughed, and I shot knowing
glances at Rellian every now and then as we both grinned. They were
definitely a couple. But they didn’t have to hide it from us.
“Is there something you guys wanna tell us?” Rellian asked.
Dad looked at him, trying to hide a smile. “What do you mean, son?”
“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. What’s going
on between you two? Are you together?”
Dad chuckled, and I knew he wouldn’t be the one telling us what was
going on. So we looked at Ellie.
She puckered her lips and wrapped her hands around Dad’s upper arm,
then she smiled at him with a tilt of her head. “Your Dad and I dating. After
all those months apart, we’ll have more time to be together and get closer.
But…I believe it’s going in the right direction.”
Her words made me question the relationship Rellian and I had. We
never really dated. We fell in love and just…became a couple. And we used
the time apart to affirm that our love wasn’t just something we had created
on a whim.
I was proud of that. Of us, for proving that to love someone, you didn’t
have to date for years, or fall slowly.
Rellian and I fell fast and hard, and our love would last a lifetime.
“We hope you’re not…upset with us,” Dad said, his eyes on me. “I
don’t want you to think that I’ve never loved your mother.”
I didn’t think it was necessary for him to mention Mom. She passed
away a long time ago, and I knew Dad had loved her at some point in his
life.
I smiled at him. “It’s okay, Dad. Life goes on. We can’t be stuck in the
past forever. I’m happy for you,” I told them.
“Yeah, me too,” Rellian added.
“Thanks kids. So, you two gonna go watch a movie in the shed
tonight? That seems to have been your ritual, huh?” There was a reason
why he was asking that.
By sending us away from the house, he would have it to himself to
enjoy some alone time with Ellie.
I didn’t have an issue with that. While they’d have fun, Rellian and I
would too. Without being bothered or heard.
“Yeah, that sounds like a great idea,” Rellian said. “How about we go
have brunch tomorrow at the diner?”
“Sounds good to me. Gotta get up early for that though. It’s gonna be
packed on a Sunday morning.”
“We’ll be ready,” Rellian assured, then he got up and grabbed some of
the plates to bring them back into the kitchen.
I helped and followed him into the kitchen, setting everything into the
sink. “They’ll definitely do it tonight.”
Rellian laughed, his elbow nudging mine. “We will too. God, I can’t
wait.”
My cheeks flushed, and I looked away to hide my face. I was nervous,
though I had no reason to be.
This was Rellian.
My boy.
My love.
My everything.
“You getting shy on me now?” he teased, lowering his head to come
closer. His face was right next to mine, and I leaned the side of my head
against his forehead.
“I’m excited,” I whispered.
“Good. Because I’m gonna make this night unforgettable for you.” He
kissed my cheek, and before Dad walked into the kitchen, he took a step
aside.
“I’ll take it from here. Why don’t you two go find Kielyr’s suitcase so
she at least has some of her clothes until tomorrow?”
I nodded and smiled up at him, giving him a quick squeeze. “I’m so
happy to finally be here.”
“Happy you’re here, kid. Love you.”
“I love you too, Dad.”
Life would soon be perfect.
Even more perfect than it had already been before we moved here.
I looked forward to all the time I could spend with Rellian from this
moment on, and I would make sure to not take a second of us for granted.
I could appreciate every little thing, every moment.
But with Rellian right by my side, it would be easy.

Chapter 74
RELLIAN
I turned the lock behind me, my eyes never leaving Kielyr’s. She was
standing by the couch in the shed, her hands clasped in front of her, and her
lips slightly parted.
She was unbelievably beautiful in just her panties and a large t-shirt
which she had randomly pulled out of her suitcase.
I knew she was naked underneath, able to see her hard nipples
pressing against the fabric of her shirt.
Dad and Ellie had already disappeared in his bedroom. They couldn’t
wait to finally be alone, and neither could we.
It had gotten late, but Kielyr and I were far from tired.
“You should’ve been here in two weeks. I would’ve had to wait two
more weeks to see you,” I stated, trying to fathom how I would’ve just lived
for two more weeks without touching and kissing her. Without taking in
that beauty, and that sweet scent of her hair and body.
“Tell me I’m not dreaming.”
She laughed softly, her head tilting to the side on the sweetest manner.
“You’re definitely not dreaming. Come here and I’ll prove it to you.”
I didn’t hesitate.
I was in front of her in an instant, my hands grabbing her hips to pull
her against my body.
She lifted her arms to wrap them around my neck, and she moved in
closer to place the gentlest kiss to my lips.
I was usually the one to be in control, but I wanted her to take over
this time.
I moved my hands to her ass, gripping it tightly to keep her right there.
Kielyr’s hands moved into my hair, her fingers gently brushing
through my hair. It had gotten longer the past couple of months, and I had
planned to cut it before she’d come. But she seemed to like it long, and I
wanted her to be able to grip it while she moaned my name, and I was deep
inside of her.
Her hair had gotten longer too, and because of all that sunshine, it was
lighter than in the winter. Her freckles stood out more on her pale skin and
rosy cheeks. I wanted to kiss every single little freckle of hers.
On her face, her shoulders, arms, her legs, and that one little freckle
right at the back of her thigh.
Her hands moved from the back of my head to my cheeks, and I titled
my head more to the side so she could deepen the kiss.
Her lips parted, and her tongue darted out to slide along my bottom
lip.
I opened my mouth but kept my tongue inside, granting her entrance
and the opportunity to do whatever she wanted with me.
Her tongue dipped into my mouth, touching my own before retrieving,
but then she pushed it back in, nudging me to kiss her back. So I did.
Our tongues swirled around each other, and while she kept her hands
on my cheeks, I moved mine to slide under her shirt that was barely
covering her ass.
I dug my fingers into her cheeks, kneading her ass.
A moan escaped her, and I tucked her closer against me to make her
feel my hardness. It pressed against her stomach while we slowly made out.
The passion between us was hard to ignore. Never had I felt this way,
but I was glad Kielyr was the one to bring up these feelings.
It was only her.
She was the reason for my happiness. For being able to love like this
and being loved right back in the same way.
I sat down on the couch and pulled her with me, making her straddle
my lap while her hands pushed into my hair again.
I broke the kiss to look at her, and she smiled at me with her swollen
lips. “I love you, sweet girl. I missed telling you this while having you in
my arms.”
“I love you too. I’m so happy to finally be here with you.”
“Good. Because you know what?”
“What?”
“You’re stuck here with me. Forever.”
Her smile grew as if she had just heard the best news of her life.
“Perfect. That’s just what I want.”
I took her mouth again and thrusted my hips to press my dick against
her pussy. I felt her warmth through her panties and my boxer briefs.
I moved my hands to her hips while she circled them on top of me, and
I got harder every time I felt her clench against my dick.
“I need to be inside you,” I muttered into the kiss.
She pushed herself off me and got up from my lap to get rid of her
panties, and her shirt followed right after.
I took in her body as she stood there fully naked, her hair gently
flowing down her back and over her shoulders.
“You’re probably sick of hearing me say this, but you’re so fucking
beautiful.”
Her smile was so soft, so sweet. And her eyes so full of admiration. “I
could never get sick of you saying those things.”
I got up and brushed a strand of her hair back, tucking it behind her ear
while leaning in and kissing her forehead.
When I stepped back, I took off my shorts, and my shirt was gone just
as quick.
Before getting back onto the couch, I grabbed a condom from the
coffee table. I was prepared.
As I ripped the wrapper of the condom, Kielyr reached for my hand,
her eyes locked on mine. “Can I do it?”
She wanted to put the condom on me.
I smiled. “You want to?”
“I wanna try.”
I handed her the unwrapped condom, then I sat down on the couch and
watched her kneel in front of me.
I kept my eyes on her as she placed the condom over my tip. She was
watching her fingers carefully to do it right, and it was so damn sweet to
watch her do something for the first time with so much confidence.
When she stroked downward, pushing the condom over my shaft, she
smiled proudly. “Is this okay?”
“It’s perfect, baby.” I reached out my hand to cup the side of her neck,
gently pulling her to me to kiss her.
She straddled my lap again, and I reached between us with my left
hand to position my cock beneath her.
She was pushed up on her knees, and after breaking the kiss to look
down, she slowly lowered herself onto me.
Her pussy was wet already, which helped me slide right into her in one
swift movement.
My body warmed all over, and the intense sensation I had felt the other
time we had sex was back. It’s been a while, but our bodies remembered
each other immediately.
Her walls were so tight around my cock, squeezing me just right.
I watched Kielyr’s face carefully to make sure she wasn’t in any pain.
There was a small frown between her brows as she adjusted on top of me,
but once she did, she smiled at me. “This feels so good,” she whispered, her
hands holding on to my shoulders.
I moved my hips, thrusting up to fill her and get deeper inside of her.
“You’re perfect for me, Kielyr.”
She moaned as I gripped her hips with both hands, my fingers digging
into her skin as I lifted her gently only to push her back down my dick.
“Fuck, baby. Just like this. Ride me.”
She moved on top of me, up and down, while I helped her with every
thrust.
She leaned her forehead against mine and moved her hand into my
hair, tugging at it gently as her moans got louder.
Even if Dad and Ellie were probably busy themselves, we couldn’t be
too loud down here.
I muffled her sounds with my mouth, kissing her deeply with my
tongue dipping into her.
When she was moving on her own without me helping her, I moved
both hands from her hips to her tits, cupping each one and kneading them
while pinching her nipples.
I didn’t give these beauties too much attention before, but I would
make up for it now.
I broke the kiss but stayed close. “We can’t be too loud.”
She nodded, and I pressed one more kiss to her lips before dipping my
head to pull one of her nipples into my mouth.
She cried out, then she quickly lifted her hand to cover her mouth with
it.
Good girl.
I played with her nipple, swirled my tongue around it, and sucked on it
hard as she continued to ride me.
Unlike the other times of us having sex, I was certain that she would
come this time.
I wanted her to come. To have her pussy suck me in even more while
it throbbed as she came.
I let her nipple pop out of my mouth and I moved to the other one,
giving it the same attention before I leaned back to look at her again.
“I’m close, baby. You gonna let me come inside of you again?”
She nodded, her eyes showing so many emotions. Her lips were
parted, and her body was moving so damn sensually.
“Think you can come with me?” I then asked, wanting to find out if
there was something I could do to help her reach a climax.
“I-I’ll try,” she whispered. “I want to.”
I felt that her doing all the work wasn’t allowing her to relax properly,
and I took the upper hand and gripped her hips again, turning us to have her
lie on her back. I was still inside of her, and I started thrusting into her in
fast and deep movements.
I kept her legs apart with my hands on her inner thighs, and once I
worked myself up enough, I slowed again to try and get her to follow me up
that hill where we’d both wanted to tip over the edge.
“God, you’re so beautiful,” I praised, watching her body react to each
of my thrusts.
I reached for one of her tits and played with her nipple again, and it
was then when I realized that those sensitive little nubs just might be what
would help her reach a climax.
I continued to roll her nipple between my finger and thumb while I
pushed into her, my tip reaching a deeper spot inside of her with every
thrust.
“Oh! Don’t stop,” she begged.
Her pussy clenched around my hardness, and I felt my climax slowly
creeping up on me.
I was ready to let go, but not before I knew she’d be close too.
“I think—” Her breath caught in her throat, and she threw her head
back as another moan escaped her. “I think I’m coming.”
I smiled and kept going, only seeing one goal ahead of me.
“Fuuuck!” I groaned, thrusting into her harder.
She lifted her hips, her moans getting louder, and then we both got
catapulted into a place I wanted to stay in forever.
My brain went blank for what felt like an eternity, and when I was
back, I was lying on top of her, still buried deep inside her pussy, and my
face pressed against the crook of her neck.
We were both breathing heavily. And we needed a moment to realize
what had just happened.
“I love you so fucking much,” I whispered, leaving small kisses on her
skin.
Her arms came around me, her hand pushing back into my hair. “I love
you too,” she breathed.
“Are you happy?” I didn’t have any doubts. I just needed to hear her
say it.
“So happy.”
She was exhausted, and shortly after saying those words, her body
relaxed and the grip in my hair loosened.
She had fallen asleep with me still inside of her, and as much as I
wanted to stay like this, I had to move.
There would be more nights like this from now on. Hell, I wanted
every night to be just like this for the rest of our lives.
Kielyr was finally here with me, and I would love, protect, and stand
by her side forever.

Chapter 75
KIELYR
I was sore the next morning. But it was the best soreness I’ve ever felt.
I had my first vaginal orgasm last night, and while it shook me to my
core, I had to be cool about it.
Every time I remembered that moment, my cheeks flushed.
Luckily, Dad and Ellie were too busy staring at themselves at brunch,
and the only one who noticed me squirming was Rellian who sat next to
me.
He couldn’t hold back a grin whenever he looked at me, and he
nudged my side with his elbow every now and then, teasing me, and
making me blush even more each time.
We spent the rest of the day unpacking and moving around furniture.
My room had come along nicely by the end of the day, and I was now
unpacking my last box of books.
A knock at the door made me turn my head, and I saw Rellian
standing there, smiling as his eyes took in the old guest bedroom.
“Looks great in there. Cozy.”
“You like it?”
He nodded, coming closer to stand next to me. “I knew you had many
books, but these are…a lot.”
I puckered my lips, looking at the four books I was holding in my
hands. “It’s only about a hundred.”
He let out a laugh. “A hundred? How many are there really, Kielyr?
You must’ve kept count.”
I did.
I had a whole list of every single book I owned.
I looked up at him and smiled, unable to hide my excitement about the
things that made me most happy. Books were wonderful.
“Four hundred and eighty-seven.”
“Holy fuck.”
He was speechless, and I grinned at him. “You know what’s crazier? I
read all of them at least twice.”
“I wanna be inside that pretty head of yours. See what all these books
did to you. Well, I know what they did to you. They made you even more
beautiful than you already are.”
I pressed a kiss to his jaw, then I walked over to my bookshelves and
put the books I was holding in their designated spot.
“How do you organize your books? Mine are all over the place. But
then, I don’t have as many as you.”
“I go by favorites. My favorite books are in the center,” I said,
pointing at the bookshelf in the middle. “All others are either left or right.”
“Wanna lend me one of your favorites?”
Rellian liked to read romance. It didn’t come as a surprise to me when
he told me. But he was also into thrillers and books about people who climb
the craziest mountains.
My excitement rose because I immediately knew which book I would
lend him.
I looked for it on the shelf, then pulled it out and held it to him.
“You should definitely read this one. But before you do, I need you to
tell me if you have any triggers.”
“Triggers?”
“Yeah, like…any topic you might be sensitive to. Something you don’t
like to read about.”
He thought about it as he studied the cover, then he shook his head. “I
don’t believe I have any triggers. Why, what’s this book about?”
“Well, it’s about a brother and sister,” I said, waiting for his reaction.
He narrowed his eyes, studying me for a moment. “Like us.”
“Yes. But…their relationship is definitely darker than ours. Way
darker. The hero is kind of a psycho. Well, it’s not his fault. He’s mentally
ill. So is his sister. They have an incredibly strong bond, but you will
question the things he does to her. Oh, and it’s also very bloody.”
Rellian took the book from me and turned it over to read the blurb.
“Manipulative. Sick. Possessive. Twisted. Sounds intense.”
“He’s still a good guy. He loves her so much, but he has no other way
to show it. Fennec is really an interesting guy. And Vespyr, the heroine, is
so devoted to him.”
Rellian looked at me, tucking the book under his arm with a smile.
“You wanna have a book date with me later?”
Tingles moved through my body, and I tucked both hands underneath
my chin, smiling up at him brightly. “A book date?”
“Yes. You and me in the shed. Books. Iced tea. Snacks.”
“I’d love to.”
He leaned in to kiss me gently, but it didn’t last too long. We couldn’t
risk Dad or Ellie catching us.
He stepped back and grabbed the book from under his arm, holding it
up. “I’m excited to read Raw. Come downstairs in a bit. Dad ordered
Chinese.”
I let out a squeal when he disappeared, unable to hold back my
excitement. He just always found a way to make me fall in love more and
more.
I turned to my books and was faced with one of the most difficult
decisions ever.
Choosing a book to read.
***
I was sitting on the couch with Rellian lying next to me, his head on
my lap, and the book I lent him in his hands.
We were both focused on our books, turning pages quickly, as we got
sucked into the stories.
There wasn’t much talking going on.
We just enjoyed this moment.
Tonight, although I would miss it, we wouldn’t have sex or do
anything intimate.
This was an evening of reading and cuddling, and I loved that we
didn’t always have to be intimate to show each other love.

Chapter 76
RELLIAN
“Does Ellie know you read books like that?” I asked as we got into the
car.
It was the next morning, and I texted my friends to see if they wanted
to hang out at the beach, and to say hello to Kielyr.
They were excited to see her.
I pulled onto the road and looked over at her for a second, waiting for
a response. “She knows about the books, but she doesn’t know what they’re
about. She doesn’t really read.”
I nodded, puckering my lips. “Would be kinda weird if she’d find out
about the book I’m reading right now.”
“You think?”
“You don’t? I mean, she could easily figure out what’s going on
between us.”
She shrugged. “She’s dating Dad. Her cousin. It’s not like she’s doing
anything weirder.”
She was right about that.
Still, being siblings and dating did sound worse than being cousins.
Fuck, who was I to judge?
I chuckled with a shake of my head. “Sorry. I’m just…amazed.”
“By what?”
“How easy it comes to us to simply loving each other without having
any doubts.”
She was looking at me, but I couldn’t face her as I drove. I reached
over to grab her hand, holding it in her lap and squeezing her fingers gently.
“I think we’re meant to be.”
Her words were soft and filled with so much love that my heart
exploded.
“Yes, we are.” I lifted our hands to my lips and kissed her fingers, then
I lowered them again, not letting go of her.
Pleased with ourselves, we didn’t say another word until we drove into
the parking lot at the beach. “Look, the others are already here.”
She looked ahead, smiling as she saw Brady and Rosie waving up at
us.
“Oh, I’m so excited to finally see them again.”
We got out of the car and I grabbed the small duffle bag I packed. Our
towels were in there, and also water and snacks.
Kielyr was already making her way toward them, and I followed
along, grinning at how happy she was.
“You’re here already!” I heard Rosie say as they hugged, and Kielyr
explained to her why that was so.
“Well, I’m happy you’re here.”
Brady agreed with a laugh. “Rellian was starting to lose his shit
waiting on you all these months. He wouldn’t stop whining.”
I chuckled. “Right. I was unbearable.”
“I’m sure it wasn’t that bad,” Kielyr added, then she hugged the rest
before coming to stand next to me, reaching for my hand. “I’m so excited to
finally be here. I can’t wait to start school with you guys.”
“School? Jesus, summer break has only just started,” Lyle said, his
grimace making us all laugh.
“I’m sorry for bringing it up. I won’t mention it again.”
I rubbed her back and looked at her to make sure she didn’t take Lyle’s
comment too personal.
She didn’t.
She knew he was just messing with her. Teasing her.
“You guys wanna go for a swim?” Gloria asked, already pulling
Darius toward the water.
I looked at Kielyr and waited for her to respond. “We’ll be right there
with you.”
As the others followed the couple, Kielyr and I got rid of our clothes,
and I watched her standing there in her sky-blue bikini. She looked
amazing.
Beautiful as always.
“We’re gonna have so much fun this summer,” I promised her, pulling
her to me, and wrapping my arms around her waist.
My hands wandered down to her ass, cupping it gently as I laid a kiss
to her lips.
She leaned into me, her hands coming up to my chest, and she tilted
her head to the side to let me deepen the kiss.
I couldn’t get enough of her.
Tonight, once we were back at home, I would show her just how much
I wanted her.
“Stop making out!” Lyle called out.
“Yeah, stop being so damn adorable for once!” I heard Brady add.
I chuckled into the kiss, then pulled back to look at Kielyr. “You ready
to be interrupted like this for the rest of high school?”
She grinned, pushing her hands into my hair with a nod of her head.
“More than ready.” She placed another kiss to my lips, then she grabbed my
hands and pulled me toward the water, smiling up at me.
She was so damn sweet.
And she was all mine.
Only mine.
***
“So, Kielyr. Are you planning on joining a team at school?” Rosie
asked.
We had gone to the nearest diner after spending all day at the beach.
We were all extremely hungry, and we squeezed into one booth.
It wasn’t really big enough to fit eight people, but we still made it
happen.
“I haven’t thought about that yet. I will be getting something in the
mail in a week or so, to read about NK High and see all the extracurriculars
that are being offered.”
“Can you dance? You should definitely try out for our cheerleading
team!” Gloria suggested, but I already knew Kielyr wouldn’t want to
become a cheerleader.
“I don’t think I’d be good at that. I would die to wear those cheer
uniforms you always wear though. They’re cute.”
And it would for sure look good on her. But I hated the thought of her
being torn down by other girls. Especially Harper. The cheerleaders at our
school were competitive with each other, which didn’t make sense.
They were split into two groups, and the only time they hung out was
at practice and at games.
“There are many clubs. You will find one that you enjoy,” Rosie said,
smiling at her.
“Kielyr’s smart. She’ll probably join our math club,” Lyle said
jokingly.
“I do like math, but I don’t think I want to deal with it in my free time
other than while doing homework. I’ll have to think about it. I love
climbing though. So I will definitely become part of Rellian’s climbing
team at On the Rocks.”
That’s more like it.
I grinned, shoving fries into my mouth to not look like a total fool.
“Someone’s really happy to hear that,” Brady said, laughing.
Kielyr looked at me, and I turned my head to meet her gaze. We didn’t
have to say a word.
We knew being on the same climbing team would be exciting. She
would do great things. I wanted to see her compete and show off her skills
to the world.
I leaned my forehead against hers, closing my eyes before kissing her
gently.
We ignored the others, enjoying this small moment.
We were in our own world.
“God, I want that too,” I heard Lyle say, and this time, he was being
serious. There was a hint of sadness in his voice, and I felt bad for him.
When I pulled back from Kielyr I looked at my best friend with an
encouraging smile. “The right girl is somewhere out there, Lyle. She’ll
show when the time is right.”
“Well, I need her to hurry the fuck up. I’m starting to get lonely.”
“Aw, Lyle. You got us.” Gloria reached over the table to take his hand.
“But Rellian’s right. There is someone out there just waiting for the right
time to appear. Be patient.”
Patience wasn’t in his vocabulary, but I could tell there was at least a
small amount of hope in his eyes.
I patted his back, then it was him who changed the subject.
The rest of the night was spent at the diner, talking and laughing, and
enjoying each other’s company.

Chapter 77
KIELYR
When you spent time with the right people, time went by way faster.
In my case, I woke up one morning and wondered how in one week, I
was already starting senior year.
I had the best summer ever, and it was all because of Rellian.
While Dad and Ellie went on more dates and even left for a couple of
days, Rellian and I also had more time to ourselves.
No day went by where I was bored or didn’t know what to do. Rellian
always had something planned, either with his friends or with me alone, and
every single night I fell asleep with a big smile on my lips.
It was a Sunday, and as I walked downstairs after taking a shower and
getting dressed, I found Rellian sitting at the breakfast table, his eyes
staring at his phone.
“Morning,” I said, smiling at him.
We had seen each other earlier, of course. Because there was barely a
night we didn’t spend with each other.
Either in the shed or in my bedroom. He snuck in late at night and left
before Dad and Ellie woke up.
We had mastered all the sneaking around, and while it was still
stressful, it was exciting at the same time.
He hadn’t looked up from his phone, and after I grabbed the milk out
of the fridge, I sat down next to him, placing my hand on his shoulder.
“What’s wrong, Lee?”
He sighed, a deep frown creasing his forehead. “I swear I’m gonna kill
that bitch.”
His words horrified me. I didn’t like hearing him say something like
that. Something so hateful.
But I tried to understand why he was so mad.
I looked at his phone and saw a chat. Brady’s name was at the top, and
below there was a bubble showing that he was typing at this very moment.
“What’s wrong?” I asked again, my eyes moving back to his face,
searching for answers.
Rellian ran a hand through his hair, then he looked at me with sadness
and anger in his eyes. “Harper and her friends are making fun of you.”
He gave me a moment to react to what he said, but I didn’t react at all.
“How?”
He looked at his phone again, reading what Brady texted him, then he
handed me his phone after tapping on a picture Brady had sent him.
It was an Instagram chat with a couple of people in it. There were
mostly laughing emojis, and some used the puking emoji to react to a
picture.
That picture was of me.
Someone must’ve taken it when we were at the beach, and it showed
me from the back, my bikini bottom unflatteringly covering my ass.
I frowned, staring at the screenshot for a moment, then I swiped to see
the other chats Brady had sent Rellian.
“Rosie and Gloria are in that chat. Well, they were. They left the
second they started sending those pictures.”
I tore my eyes off the messages I was reading.
They were cruel.
Calling me a slut.
Saying I was ugly, and that my body looked disgusting.
They were shaming me, and while I had always tried my hardest to
ignore the people who called me names back at my old school, this was
hard to ignore.
If they were saying those things, they must’ve been right, no? They
saw me from the outside. Those were their opinions.
I swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat, and I fought the
tears stinging my eyes.
“Baby,” Rellian whispered. He took the phone from me and set it on
the table, then he turned to me and pulled me into his arms.
I let him hold me, unable to think straight.
“I’m gonna show this to the principal on our first day. I hate that
they’re doing this to you, Kielyr. I promised to protect you, but I’m failing
horribly.”
I didn’t want him to feel guilty.
To think that those girls were mean to me because of him.
That wasn’t so.
Yet, I didn’t tell him that.
I needed him to take care of me.
To protect me once we walked onto the school’s grounds.
It was scary enough to be the new girl but knowing there were a group
of strangers already awaiting my arrival with their claws out was even
worse.
I was a strong person. I could handle many things when I had a way of
controlling them. But this situation was new. Uncertain of what would
happen next.
Rellian was caressing my head, brushing his hand over my hair as I
silently cried into his chest.
“We should also tell Dad and Ellie,” he whispered against my head.
“No.”
“Kielyr,” he sighed, keeping his arms tightly around me. “I want them
to know. Harper has been bullying and harassing you even before you
moved here, and I won’t let her keep that shit up.”
But what would they be able to do about it? Talk to Harper’s parents?
Dad would mention that I was his daughter.
And with that coming to light, things could quickly turn ugly.
“Can we keep this to ourselves for now? Try and handle it on our
own?”
He leaned back to look at me. He placed both his hands on my cheeks,
wiping my tears away. “I’m afraid that won’t really help.”
“Please,” I begged quietly. “I don’t want to put our love on the line.”
He saw the pleading in my eyes, and though he wasn’t okay with this,
he nodded. “Okay. But Kielyr, if I can’t stop Harper, I will have to tell
Dad.”
“Okay.”
He leaned in to kiss my forehead, then he pulled me into his arms
again with a heavy sigh leaving his chest. “I’m so sorry this is happening.
Don’t believe a thing they wrote in that chat, alright? They’re jealous.
That’s all they are.”
I wanted to believe him, and deep down there was a tiny part of me
that did.
But in that moment, those mean comments consumed me in the worst
way possible.
RELLIAN
Her smile was back, but the sadness still lingered in her eyes.
I had talked to Brady on the phone and asked him to keep an eye out.
To make sure Harper wouldn’t send more shit like that.
But because Rosie and Gloria had left that chat, there was no way for
us to see if those other girls were still making fun of Kielyr.
Rosie apparently also received a threat from Harper because she
figured Rosie would send screenshots to us after leaving the chat. She
exposed Harper and her friends, and so did Gloria, and I knew school
wouldn’t start off calmly.
I promised I would take good care of Kielyr, make sure she’s protected
by Harper’s cruelty.
I would keep my girl close, wouldn’t take my eyes off her, and be
aware of her surroundings so she wouldn’t end up in a situation where she’d
be alone with Harper.
I read Brady’s text after we hung up, and I quickly texted back to
thank him for everything he’s doing.
For being a friend to Kielyr.
After plugging in my phone to let it charge, I headed out of my room
and walked towards Kielyr’s bedroom.
I knocked, waiting for her to allow me to enter.
“One moment, please.”
So damn polite.
I smirked, unable to hide how much I adored this girl.
A couple of seconds later, she opened the door and stood there in her
climbing outfit.
We decided to head to the gym with Dad and Ellie to get her mind of
the hateful things she had to read earlier.
“Hey,” I said, my lips puckered as I took in her body.
“Hi.” She leaned against the door, her eyes looking up at me through
long lashes.
“May I come in?”
She bit her bottom lip, her eyes wandering down to my shorts before
moving back up to meet mine. “No.”
I chuckled and raised a brow. “No?”
She shook her head.
“Why not?” I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against the
doorway, the smirk still on my lips.
“Because if you come inside, we might not come back out. And I
really want to go climbing.”
“You choose climbing over being alone with me?”
“Anytime,” she teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
“Where’s that sass coming from?”
She laughed softly and shrugged. “Guess I had it in me all this time.”
I looked down the hall to make sure we were alone, then I leaned
closer to kiss her lips. “I’ll get you alone tonight. Don’t worry.”
She smiled into the kiss, and I deepened it, plunging my tongue into
her mouth to curl it around hers.
After a long, passionate kiss, I stepped back to look at her again. “You
ready?”
“Yes. I just need to grab my water bottle.” Her cheeks were flushed,
and I knew it was because of our kiss.
It was adorable to see her reaction to the simplest things. Though, as
simple as those things were, to her, they meant the world.

Chapter 78
KIELYR
The gym had been closed for a couple of weeks during summer break,
but it would open back up the same day school started.
To have it all ready, Dad and Ellie went to the store to buy snacks and
drinks to fill up the bar while Rellian and I stayed at the gym and climbed.
They were back in less than two hours, and we helped them carry
everything inside.
“Kids, fill up the vending machines. The snacks are in the two red
bags,” Dad said. “Check the expiration dates on the things that are already
in there. Take them out if they expired.”
Rellian and I walked over to all the shopping bags and grabbed the
ones Dad had told us about. “What about the drinks?”
“I’ll handle those later. I need to clean out that machine. Something
spilled and it’s all sticky.”
We headed over to the three vending machines.
One had only chips in them, and the others had chocolates and sweets.
“Do you have a preference?” I asked Rellian, nodding toward the
machines.
He puckered his lips and studied the snacks, then he grabbed the bag
with the smaller snacks. “These are hell to fill up. The chips bags are
easier.”
Fine with me.
I grabbed the other bag and waited for Rellian to open the vending
machine for me, then I started to check on the dates and fill up the different
options.
“Are you nervous to start school?” Rellian asked after a moment of
silence.
I knew he was worried, and though I was still not over what Harper
said about me, I tried my hardest to ignore it.
“No, I’m excited. I can’t wait to finally start senior year. By the way,
who’s your favorite teacher?”
I was put into Rellian’s same classes, which I was sure that Ellie had
something to do with.
“Easy. Miss Rubio. She’s our math and chemistry teacher. You’ll love
her. She’s twenty-four, I believe. She started teaching at NK High when I
was a sophomore.”
“She’s young.”
“Yeah, which is why she can relate to us students. She understands us,
you know. She’s also great to talk to. She takes her time with each of us.”
Miss Rubio sounded wonderful. Maybe I could trust her. Tell her about
the things Harper had been doing and saying to me.
“I like her already,” I said, smiling over at him.
I’d have him by my side at all times.
Rosie and Gloria would be there too, just like Lyle, Brady, Mason, and
Darius.
I could trust them.
They were my friends now too.
“Hey, Lee?”
“Yes?”
“Thank you.”
“What for, sweet girl?”
“For letting me be friends with your friends. But mostly for letting me
be part of your life.”
He turned to face me, his expression so gentle. “Don’t thank me for
that, Kielyr. They love you. Even if this between us wouldn’t have existed,
you’d be accepted without question.”
I smiled softly, sadness coming over me again. “Yet Harper would still
be mean to me.”
Tears stung my eyes, and I wondered why I was letting that girl affect
me so much.
I hadn’t done anything wrong.
Yet, she was being the most hurtful person I’ve ever come across.
I knew I didn’t deserve her hatred. No one deserved to feel this way.
And more than feeling bad for myself, I felt bad for her. There had to
be a reason for her rudeness. But there was no way I could get to the bottom
of that.
Rellian wouldn’t let me talk to her, and truthfully, I didn’t think Harper
would want to explain herself for being a bully.
She’d have to deal with the anger that was inside of her on her own.
Or get professional help.
“Oh, baby.” Rellian pulled me to him, and I dropped the chips back
into the bag. “Please don’t cry. I don’t want to see you like this.”
I buried my face into his chest, letting the tears fall as he held me
tightly against his body.
“Kielyr,” he whispered into my hair, his hands rubbing my back
gently. “I’m right here. I won’t leave your side. I will hold your hand all the
fucking time and I won’t let go. No one will hurt you. Not Harper. Not her
friends. No one. You hear me?”
I nodded. I had to calm down.
Rellian was here. He’d protect me. Love me.
All I had to do was trust him.
“I love you,” I whispered, unable to say anything else.
“I love you too. Always.”
“You two alright back there?” Dad called out from the snack bar.
I didn’t want him to see me cry, but it was too late.
“What happened? What’s wrong?” He was walking toward us.
Rellian loosened his arms around me, and I turned to face Dad when
he came to a halt in front of us.
I put on my sweetest smile. “Everything’s fine. I just had a moment of
realization and got a bit emotional.”
He studied me carefully, his eyes narrowed. “Because of school?”
I nodded.
“You’ll be just fine, kid. Come here.” He held out his hands and I went
willingly, letting him hold me the same way Rellian had held me seconds
ago. “You’ll see, senior year will go by like that. But you’ll have the time of
your life.”
“Okay,” I said, wishing that would end up being true. “Thanks, Dad.”
“Of course. Now, keep filling these machines. We’re going out to
dinner tonight.”
He kissed the top of my head, then stepped back and patted Rellian’s
cheek before getting back to the snack bar.
I looked at Rellian. He was smiling at me with an encouraging gleam
in his eyes. “Things will be all right.”
I nodded, deciding to only focus on myself. To be happy and not upset.
“Things will be all right,” I repeated his words in a whisper before we
went back to work.

Chapter 79
RELLIAN
Two more sleeps until we were seniors.
Two more sleeps, and I would turn into the most protective son of a
bitch on this whole damn planet.
I was set on making NK High special for Kielyr. I was convinced I
would.
All for my sweet girl.
The girl who was sitting next to me at the dinner table but couldn’t
touch.
“Have you thought about joining the team?” Dad asked, breaking the
silence.
I looked at Kielyr as she replied.
“Yes. I would love to join.”
“You know you’ll have to train three to four times a week. Not sure
you can keep up with school.”
Kielyr frowned, and I quickly looked at Dad to see his reaction to what
she was going to say next.
Termination was written all over her face, and she scowled at him. “I
can focus on school and go climbing. I wanna train to compete at
nationals.”
That made me grin. I was proud of her for wanting to climb more. To
compete and show the world just how good she was.
“What if your grades drop?”
“They won’t.”
Dad raised a brow. “You sure about that?”
“Yes, Dad. I want to climb. I want to be on that team.”
“Me too.”
They looked at me, and Kielyr smiled. “You’ll start climbing again?
Competitively?” She was excited about that. It meant to train at the same
time and be part of the same competitions.
I nodded. “I’ve been thinking about it. I stopped climbing to make sure
I could focus on school, but I think I’m gonna be alright. We can’t spend
senior year just sitting in our rooms, studying.”
Dad looked between us, then he gazed at Ellie to see what she was
thinking.
She shrugged. “I won’t tell them no.”
And they couldn’t stop us from having hobbies.
Dad sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Fine. We’ll have to tell
Aaron on Tuesday.”
Aaron was one of many coaches at On the Rocks, and he was the one
preparing us for competitions.
He coached me, Brooke, Danny, and others who were part of our team,
and soon he’d coach Kielyr as well.
And though I was excited about it all, I was worried about Kielyr and
my relationship coming to light.
With my friends knowing and school about to start, I had a feeling that
Dad and Ellie soon would figure it out.
“I’m excited!” Kielyr was happy, and that’s what mattered most to me.
“How’s the hunt for a café going?” I asked Ellie to change the subject.
“Oh, it’s going great! I’m talking to someone who’s wanting to sell
their bakery. It’s a cozy little space right in the town center.”
“That sounds amazing,” I said, smiling at her.
Dad muttered something under his breath, and we all looked at him.
When he noticed us watching him, he sighed and turned to Ellie. “I told you
I’d be ready to move everything from the storage room and have that space
be turned into a café. It would be a great addition to the gym. More space to
hang out.”
“You want to empty out the storage room?” I asked, wondering where
he’d put all the things.
“Yeah. Most of that stuff is old climbing gear. Things no one uses
anymore. And the things I’ll keep can be stored downstairs. There’s enough
space in the basement of the gym.”
I looked at Ellie again. “You don’t like the idea of opening a café right
next to the gym?”
“I’m not sure if it would be a good idea to work this close to your
father. He can be very…distractive at times.”
Kielyr grimaced as if the things we’d been doing weren’t naughty.
I chuckled. “I’m sure Dad’s gonna be busy at the gym. If he does
bother you, just ban him from the café.”
Ellie laughed and looked over at Dad with a shake of her head. “I
couldn’t do that. I’ll have to think about it. It’s a nice space, but I have yet
to figure out a few things. I need to come up with a good concept first.”
“There’s no rush,” Dad assured, resting his arm on the back of her
chair, then he looked at us. His expression turned more serious. “Are you
ready for Monday? Got everything packed?”
“Yes, I’m so excited! Rellian showed me some pictures of the school.
It’s so much bigger than my old school.”
There were also way more students, and some of those were Harper
and her friends. Out of everyone at school, they were the ones I had to make
sure would stay far away from Kielyr.
I couldn’t tell Dad though. He’d be worried, and I didn’t want to take
the excitement away from Kielyr.
“NK High is a great school. Great teachers and environment. You’ll be
okay but I still want you to stay close to your brother. You’ll have to adjust
in the first few weeks, and Rellian will guide you through those days until
you’re all settled.”
“She’ll be okay, Atwood,” Ellie said quietly. “She’s always known
how to deal with new situations. She’ll make friends and fall into a rhythm
quickly. I’m sure of that.”
I was sure of that too.
Still, I was going to protect her, watch her every step to keep her safe.
***
After dinner, I headed upstairs to take a quick shower, and while I was
getting dressed, there was a soft knock at my door.
I knew it was Kielyr, and I smiled at the thought of her wanting to see
me.
We couldn’t stay away from each other for too long.
Our hearts ached the longer we weren’t together.
I walked over to the door and opened it, and I was faced with the
sweetest smile to ever exist. “Hi.”
I grinned. “Hey.” I rested my hand on the side of the door, looking
down at her as she peeked at me through her lashes.
She studied me, waiting for me to say more, but I wanted her to speak
first. She was so fucking adorable.
She shifted on her feet, her teeth chewing on her bottom lip. “Dad and
Ellie went back to the gym to finish setting up.”
I puckered my lips in amusement. “So we’re alone?”
She nodded, looking past me into my room, then her eyes were back
on mine. “They said they’ll be back in an hour or so.”
My cock throbbed.
It was an instant reaction to knowing what we’d be doing next.
And though I was ready to pull her to me and kiss her, I liked teasing
her. I watched at she impatiently squirmed as she stood there.
Her brows furrowed. “May I…”
“You wanna come in?”
“Yes, please.”
Fuck me…her innocence was killing me.
I couldn’t just stand there any longer.
Chuckling, I reached for her hand and pulled her to me, her hands
immediately coming up to my shoulders as I moved mine to her ass.
In one swift movement, I lifted her, and she wrapped her legs around
my hips.
“God, I love you so much,” I muttered before my mouth took hers. I
immediately deepened the kiss, pushing my tongue between her lips and
curling it around hers.
I walked over to my bed where I carefully let her down without ever
breaking the kiss. I moved over her and pushed her legs apart to nestle
myself between them, and to press my hardness against her pussy.
I was only wearing my boxers and a shirt, and Kielyr had pajama
shorts and a top that was snug around her body.
A soft moan escaped her as I pushed my hand under her top, cupping
one of her tits and squeezing gently while my fingers pinched her nipple.
I loved touching her tits, and I loved how her body reacted to my
touch.
She lifted her hips and I pushed against her, sliding my cock between
her folds.
I needed more. I wanted to be inside of her.
I broke the kiss to look at her and pulled back my hand to push myself
off the bed.
We were both breathing heavily, and while she watched, I grabbed a
condom from my nightstand and pushed my boxer briefs down my hips.
Her eyes never left my hands as I slid the condom over my dick, and I
rubbed at it for a moment before moving over her again.
I pulled off her shorts and panties, then I dipped down to lick through
her folds, tasting her sweet juices.
She moaned, and she pushed one hand into my hair to tug on it. “Oh,
yes. Please,” she breathed, and without telling me what she was begging
for, I already knew.
My lips covered her clit, and I started flicking my tongue against it
while she adjusted underneath me, showing me exactly where the right spot
was.
It didn’t take long until her pussy clenched, and her grip tightened in
my hair. “Don’t stop! Oh, right there.”
I moved my tongue faster, pleasing her until an orgasm washed over
her.
Her back arched, her breathing stopped, and I continued until I knew
she was back with me.
I lifted my head to look at her, and I smiled at her when her eyes met
mine.
Moving back up, I kissed her lips gently. “I love you,” I whispered,
unable to come up with better words to describe what I was feeling in that
very moment.
Even though I was aware of everything I felt for her, those feelings
often overwhelmed me. It wasn’t a bad thing though.
It only showed that with every new day, my love for her grew.
“I love you,” she whispered back, her mouth pulling me back into a
passionate kiss.

Chapter 80
KIELYR
He slid inside of me easily, and after giving me a moment to adjust, he
started thrusting into me.
His lips were on mine, but he broke the kiss after a while to push
himself up on his right elbow while he moved his left hand to my leg.
He placed his hand on the back of my knee to pull my leg further up.
This way, he was able to push deeper into me. To fill me even more than he
already did.
I cried out in pleasure when his thrusts got harder.
“Fuuuck.” He groaned as he felt my walls squeezing him.
I never did it on purpose, but once I found out how I was able to do
that, I clenched my pussy around his cock to tease him.
“You’re so fucking tight. God, I wanna stay inside of you forever.”
I smiled at him and placed one hand on the side of his neck, while
leaving the other on his forearm because I needed to hold on to something.
I wished that was possible.
The emotions and sensations we were feeling were intense, and I too
wanted to feel those exact things forever.
I did. Even without him inside of me.
He was so handsome.
I love how he looked at me, his eyes telling me just how much he
loved me every time they met mine.
I had so much admiration for him. So much love. And my need to
have him close grew stronger with every day that passed.
He lowered his head to kiss me again. This time, he moved his lips
slowly. Gently.
I kissed him back the same way while I brushed my fingertips along
his jaw, and up to his cheekbone.
He was like a sculpture.
Every inch of his face was so perfect.
His mouth left mine again, trailing kisses down to my neck before he
moved away.
He moved my right leg, crossing it over my other so I was lying on my
side while he was still inside of me.
He was kneeling on the bed, and with his hand on my ass and thigh, he
continued to pump into me.
Faster this time.
He was looking down, watching his cock move in and out of me.
“So damn beautiful. This view is fucking perfect, baby. I wish you
could see what I’m seeing.”
Right after he said that an idea popped into my mind. One I wasn’t
sure if it was wrong or not.
I bit my bottom lip as his thrusts got deeper, and a moan escaped me
right before I spoke. “Take a video.”
He must’ve overheard me. He didn’t reply or react, so I said it again.
“Lee, take a video so I can see what you’re seeing when you fuck me.”
This time, his brows furrowed, and his movements slowed. He shook
his head but didn’t look at me.
Shit…I messed up.
I shouldn’t have suggested that.
He must think I’m a whore. A slut. Then maybe Harper was right after
all.
I pushed against his abdomen, trying to get him off me, but the harder
I pushed, the more he resisted.
“Lee, stop.”
His frown deepened, and his thrusts quickened.
“Lee, please stop—”
“You can’t say shit like that, Kielyr.” Another hard thrust, and he
finally stopped. Though, he stayed buried deep inside of me. His eyes
finally met mine, and I couldn’t quite figure out what he was thinking.
“It was a stupid idea. I shouldn’t have said that. It wasn’t my intention
to make you mad.”
“You think I’m mad?”
“You must be. I sounded like the biggest slut saying that.”
“Kielyr.” His voice was serious, his gaze stern. “Don’t ever fucking
say that ever again.”
“Then why do you look so angry?”
He shook his head to deny his anger, and he chuckled as he started to
slowly move again. “I’m not angry. If anything, I’m fucking sick for
wanting to film me fucking you. I don’t want you to regret it.”
I frowned.
My clit throbbed.
There were too many thoughts running through my mind.
“I won’t regret it. It’ll be just for us to see.”
He stopped again and leaned in, kissing my lips so roughly it almost
hurt.
He sucked on my bottom lip, then plunged his tongue deep into my
mouth. I had to hold my breath.
He groaned into the kiss, and when he pulled back, I knew my lips
were as swollen as his.
“I will delete the video after you’ve watched it.”
For whatever reason he wanted to delete it, I didn’t argue.
I simply nodded, then watched as he reached for his phone on the
nightstand.
He looked at me again to see if I was really sure about this, then he
lifted his phone and pointed the camera at our bodies, recording us as we
fucked.
RELLIAN
It was one of the most erotic moments we’ve ever had together.
I was filming us having sex, and I couldn’t wrap my head around how
much harder my cock had gotten the second she told me to record this.
My cock was throbbing so fucking hard that only minutes after I
started recording, I was already about to explode.
“I’m so fucking close, baby. God, you’re so beautiful. You’re perfect
for me. You’re mine, sweet girl. Only mine.”
Her moans got louder as her body moved uncontrollably, and she
reached down to circle her clit with her fingers.
“So fucking hot. Yes, baby. Fuck, I’m coming.”
I tried my best to keep the camera focused on our bodies, but my brain
shut off when I reached my climax.
Her pussy clenched around my dick, milking me as I shot my load into
the condom.
A condom I wished didn’t have to be between us, but I wasn’t going to
talk her into getting birth control.
She didn’t have to put her body through hormonal changes.
When I was thinking clearly again, I put the phone down and leaned in
to kiss her while she rode out her own orgasm.
Our breathing slowed, and I broke the kiss to look at her.
“How are you feeling?”
“Amazing.” Her smile was bright, her eyes full of happiness. “I feel
amazing. Always when I’m with you.”
I smiled back at her and placed a gentle kiss to her lips, then to the tip
of her nose before pressing one last to her cheek.
No words could describe how she made me feel.
She was one of a kind, and I was the luckiest guy to have her love me.

Chapter 81
KIELYR
“I’m so fucking close, baby. God, you’re so beautiful. You’re perfect
for me. You’re mine, sweet girl. Only mine.”
I could watch that very scene over and over again to hear him say
those exact words.
We were on his bed, cuddling while we were both naked. Our legs
were intertwined, and my head was resting on his shoulder while he held
the phone in his hands.
I watched him thrust into me, his dick easily sliding in and out of me
while my cries and his groans filled the room.
“What are you thinking?” Rellian asked, his voice gentle.
I was thinking many things.
But only one thought was constantly swirling around the top of my
mind. “We look hot.”
He chuckled and wrapped his left arm around my shoulders, pulling
me closer against his side and kissing the top of my head. “We do. But I’m
afraid we’ll have to delete this video.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m afraid of accidentally sending it to someone. Or having
my phone sitting unlocked on a table and having someone go through it and
seeing the video.”
I knew those weren’t very probable things to happen, but it was safer
to delete the video.
I turned my head to look up at him. “Okay. But maybe we can film
each other more often and watch it afterward. Then we delete it.”
He liked that idea. “We can do that.”
I pressed a kiss to his jaw, then he turned his head a little more to kiss
my lips.
He dropped his phone on the bed, and I moved over him to lie on top
of him.
His hands cupped my ass, kneading it gently as our kiss deepened.
His tongue brushed against my lips, and I parted them to grant him
access.
A moan escaped me as he squeezed my ass harder, then his hands
moved further up to pinch my waist.
I squirmed, breaking the kiss with a laughing. “Hey!”
“Come on, sweet girl. We gotta get dressed before Dad and Ellie get
back.” He placed one more kiss to my lips, then we sat up and he handed
me his phone. “Delete it.”
I took his phone, looking at the screen for a moment before I tapped
on the little trashcan on the bottom.
I deleted the video, then I put the phone back down and got up from
the bed.
“You alright?”
I turned to face him with a smile. “I’m more than alright. You?”
He nodded, smiling back at me with that handsome smile. God…
there’s no sight more perfect than this.
“Never been better.”
***
Sunday night.
One more sleep and we would start senior year.
I hadn’t been nervous up until tonight and having Dad continuously
talking about my schedule and making sure I knew where I had to go wasn’t
helping.
“Atwood, darling,” Ellie said, placing her hand on his arm. “She’ll be
okay. She’s got Rellian right by her side, and she’s a smart girl. She’ll figure
it out.”
I nodded, hoping he would finally stop talking about school.
My nerves were hitting the roof.
“I’m sorry. I just want everything to go smoothly. You got your locker
number?”
“Yes, Dad.”
“Her locker’s close to Lyle’s,” Rellian stated, which was news to me.
“It is?”
He nodded. “Your locker number is 313. Lyle’s is 311.”
“And what’s yours?”
“226. I’m not too far away. I’ll walk you to your locker before every
class if needed.”
I smiled at him, wishing I could’ve leaned in and kissed his cheek.
“Thank you, Lee.” I turned back to look at Ellie and Dad. There was one
last thing I needed to know to ease my mind. “Ellie, when you called the
school earlier this year, did you say that Rellian and I are brother and
sister?”
“No, I didn’t mention it.”
Good.
Perfect.
“You don’t want your teachers to know?” Dad asked, his thick brow
raised.
I shrugged, glancing at Rellian for a moment. “Not really. I think it
might be confusing to people if they find out that Rellian suddenly has a
sister. You know, I don’t want people to start questioning why I didn’t grow
up here with him.”
Dad studied me, and while my words made perfect sense in an attempt
to hide Lee’s and my relationship, he wasn’t so sure about it all.
“What do your friends think that you are?” Dad asked Rellian. “You
didn’t tell them you two are siblings?”
We both shook our heads, and Rellian responded. “No, we told them
we’re…friends. That you and Ellie are old friends.”
“So you don’t want them to know?”
“No. I like keeping it this way. Kielyr and I are friends.”
Though I knew we were more than that, it still hurt hearing him say
that.
“Okay. Fine.” Dad cleared his throat, then he finally smiled, and his
expression softened. “Friends. I will leave it up to you guys to be whatever
you want to be.”
I looked at Rellian and we both had to hide a grin.
If he only knew…

Chapter 82
KIELYR
I was freaking out.
I was smiling on the outside, trying my hardest to seem calm. But on
the inside, I was screaming, crying, throwing up. My heart was racing, and
Rellian holding my hand wasn’t even helping.
We were walking into the school, kids were moving slowly, unsure
where to go.
Only the older kids seemed to know exactly where they were headed.
I looked up at Rellian, needing him to reassure me. And as if he heard
my thoughts, he looked at me with a gentle smile, then he placed a kiss to
my forehead. “We’ll go find your locker and then head to the gym, alright?”
I nodded.
We had a special day today.
The first day was a half day, with teachers and the principal explaining
things and talking to us in the gym. After that, we got some time to
orientate ourselves and settle in.
There were no classes today, no actual learning. Just a relaxed day of
getting to know people and the school.
At least, that’s what I had to do. I was probably the only new kid here,
which didn’t make things much easier.
“Okay.” I smiled back at him and leaned into his side, needing his
comfort.
We walked down the hall, passing groups of students as they laughed
and talked, their excitement written all over their faces.
And while most of them didn’t care about some new girl, they
definitely cared about Rellian.
They stared at him when we walked by them, but Rellian ignored
them.
I wondered how popular he really was.
He had told me that he wasn’t one of the popular kids, though he did
hang out with Brady and some others from the football team.
I pushed those thoughts out of my head even if they helped me be less
nervous.
“Ah, Lyle’s already here,” Rellian said as he walked up to him. “Hey,
man.”
Lyle turned to face us, and his grin was wide when he looked at me.
“Hey, guys. What are you doing back here?”
We did have to walk further down the hall to get here. I knew Rellian’s
locker was more toward the front, near the gym which was close to the
entrance.
I pointed at the locker with the number 313 in it, smiling at him. “This
is my locker.”
Lyle’s jaw dropped, then another grin spread on his lips. “No fucking
way! So close to mine!”
I laughed softly, nodding. “I’m glad I have someone I know so close to
me. I hope you’re fine with this.” Although, I didn’t have a say on what
locker I got.
“Are you kidding? Of course, it’s fine. I’ll take good care of you and
make sure Harper and her snake friends won’t mess with you. I’m sorry for
the shit they said. Just know you’re way smarter and prettier than all of
them combined.”
His words were so kind and sweet, and they warmed my heart. I let go
of Rellian’s hand to give Lyle a hug. “Thank you, Lyle.”
I felt his body tense, and I knew he wasn’t used to getting a hug like
this. He’d have to get used to it though.
I heard Rellian chuckle, and when I pulled back, I smiled at Lyle
again. “Lee said we have most classes together.”
“Oh yeah? That’s great. You’ll see, math class will be way more fun
with me in it.”
“I don’t think she’ll pay much attention to you in math class. She’s a
genius with numbers.”
Lyle scowled at Rellian. “Shit, right. Maybe you can help me out
then.”
“I can definitely do that,” I said, then I finally turned to my locker.
Rellian had already opened it for me. I shared my combination with him
yesterday, and it seemed that he already knew it by heart.
I shot him a look, and he winked at me, then I put all my books inside
before closing it back up. “Okay, where to now?”
“My locker. Need to put my stuff away too. Then we can go to the
gym.”
Rellian threaded his fingers through mine, lifting my hand to his lips
to kiss the back of it, then we walked back through the hall to get to
Rellian’s locker.
Now that I knew where it was, I looked around to see if someone I
already knew was close to him.
I saw Brady further back, with Rosie and Gloria standing next to him,
and Mason was walking toward them as well with Darius.
This friend group I was lucky enough to be proud of fascinated me.
Everyone supported one another, and you knew they had each other’s
back no matter what.
That calmed my nerves. Made me relax a little.
“The others are over there,” Lyle stated, nodding his head toward
them.
“Let’s go.” Rellian pulled me against his side and kissed the top of my
head, then we walked over to them.
Rosie and Gloria immediately came to me and hugged me, telling me
how excited they were that I was now an NK High student.
We had texted last night after they invited me into a group chat with
the both of them. I thought it was a sweet gesture. They told me we’d use
that chat for homework, projects, or just to talk about whatever we liked.
I trusted those two girls more than I had ever trusted the girls back in
Morgantown.
I felt safe with them as friends, and the guys too, of course.
“We thought about going to the mall to eat lunch and celebrate starting
senior year after this half day is over. Do you and Rellian wanna come with
us?” Gloria asked.
“Oh, that sounds fun,” I said, turning to look at Rellian and getting his
attention in an instant. He was always watching me. Always making sure I
was okay. I smiled and reached out for him, and once he placed his hand in
mine, he came closer. “Do you wanna go have lunch at the mall later?”
Rellian looked at the girls and nodded. “Brady just told me about it.
You wanna go?”
“I’d love to.”
“Perfect! Let’s get this morning over with and then go celebrate!”
Rosie announced.
As they started to walk toward the gym, Rellian pulled me to him and
put his hands on my hips. “How are you feeling?”
I smiled up at him, resting my hands on his shoulders, and pressing my
body into his. “Better. I was nervous just minutes ago, but that’s over now.”
“I’m glad. You know where my locker is now. If we ever happen to be
apart in between classes, just meet me there.”
“Okay.” I doubted we’d ever be apart though. Not with us having the
same classes every day. And not with our obsession with each other.
His hands left my hips, and he lifted them to cup my face. He dipped
his head to come closer, then he kissed me gently, not caring for the people
passing us.
Our kiss turned more passionate, and his tongue slid between my lips.
I didn’t want to be known as the girl who makes out on the hall for
everyone to see, but I also didn’t want to keep from kissing Rellian.
We were together. In love. And it wasn’t right to hide that from
anyone. As long as we didn’t rub it in anyone’s face.
He broke the kiss after a while and smiled at me with his hand still on
my cheeks. “I love you. You’ll do great. Teachers are gonna love you.”
I hoped so.
“I love you too.” I placed one more kiss to his lips, then we headed
into the gym where the others were waiting on us.
I was ready to start classes, but I’d enjoy today with our friends first.

Chapter 83
KIELYR
The first week at school went well, and though no teacher had been
too harsh on us, we did get homework on the second day already.
Not that it bothered me, but I was still studying the school plan and my
schedule. I wanted to prepare myself for days when Rellian wouldn’t be
around. If he got sick and had to stay home, I’d have to navigate through
these halls myself.
But of course, Rellian would never not come to school. He never got
sick, and he would never let me spend a day without him.
Ten minutes ago, he had no choice but to let me walk to my locker
alone. Miss Rubio asked him to stay after class to discuss something, and I
told him I’d be okay, and that I’d find my locker even without him.
It was hard for him to let me go, so while Miss Rubio pulled out one
of the textbooks, I used that moment to leave the classroom.
When I walked up to my locker, I saw Lyle standing there with a
scowl on his face. He didn’t look happy at all.
“Hey, Lyle. Is everything okay?”
He didn’t look at me at first, muttering a curse under his breath. Then,
after closing his locker, he turned to me with a heavy sigh. “Nothing’s okay.
It’s the first fucking week back and my father already threatens to take me
off the team.”
“Oh.” I frowned, wondering how a father could take away something
from his own son. Especially when it was something he loved doing.
“Why?”
“Because apparently, I need to focus more on school this year. He’s
already making me send out college applications. It’s too fucking early for
that shit.”
College.
Not something I’ve been thinking about lately.
I put a book into my locker and pulled out another for the next class,
then I turned to him with a gentle smile. “He’s just being a dad. Parents
worry about us kids not getting into college. Have you tried talking to him
about it? I don’t think football will distract you from school.”
“That’s what I’ve been telling him, but he won’t listen.”
I studied him for a moment, hating how upset he was.
Lyle was a good guy, and though he wasn’t very interested in any
classes, he wasn’t stupid. He was quite smart, actually. He just didn’t show
it.
“What if you talk to Miss Rubio and ask her if she can talk to your
father?”
“What’s she supposed to do?”
I shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe she can reassure him that you will
still have enough time to focus on school.”
He sighed and ran both hands through his hair, tugging at the ends to
let out some of that anger. “I’ll try that. Thanks, Kielyr.” He smiled,
nudging my shoulder with his hand in a playful way. “You’re my therapist
now. Every time we’re here, I wanna talk about whatever problem I’m
dealing with.”
I laughed softly. “That is going to cost you. My time is valuable.”
“It sure is. Where’s Rellian?”
“He’s talking to Miss Rubio. She wanted to know where he stands
with extra homework to keep his grade up.”
“Jesus, who wants that?”
I pressed my lips into a tight line, not wanting to tell him that I already
asked for extra assignments in the future just because it would be fun.
“Right. He’ll be here soon,” I then told him, smiling.
“Ugh, look, girls. One week at NK High and she’s already hopping
onto the next cock. Told you she’s a slut.”
Harper’s voice instantly made me want to throw up. I hated how
nervous I got when she spoke, and it had gotten worse after finding out
about those rude messages she’s been sending in that group chat.
I turned away, wanting to hide in my locker and hope she’d just pass
by and leave me alone, but she didn’t.
She stood there, a confrontational glare in her eyes, and her lips
arrogantly pursed. “Don’t act like you didn’t hear me, bitch.”
Lyle stepped up, getting right in Harper’s face, and her friends took a
step back while she stood there, holding her ground. “Don’t fucking talk to
her, you understand?”
“Or what? Just let her talk back for once.”
“She’s not gonna get down to your level. She’s way too classy for that.
Just keep walking, Harper. Stop being a fucking bully.”
“Bully? How am I a bully when I’m simply stating the truth? First,
she’s with Rellian, and now she’s sucking your dick. She’s a fucking
whore.”
Lyle tensed, and so did I. But unlike me, Lyle was still able to speak.
“You’re lucky Rellian’s not hearing this right now. You’re only
making this worse for you.”
I swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat, and I reached for
Lyle’s arm to get his attention. “It’s not worth it,” I whispered. I wasn’t loud
enough to pull him away from this situation.
Harper and her friends were looking at me with disgust on their faces.
I hated the way they were looking at me. As if everything Harper said
was true.
“Not worth it? Do you even know who I am?”
“You’re a disrespectful and petty person.” Rellian stepped between us,
his large frame towering over Harper as his chest rose and fell heavily.
“You’re being childish and unreasonable, but most importantly, you’re
being extremely hurtful. Do you even have a fucking clue what your words
can cause? Ever think of the fucking consequences when you’re being so
fucking offensive?”
Harper was staring up at him, and I hated how she listened to him
without hesitation.
I knew she was jealous of me. Of what I had with Rellian, and her
admiration for him always peeked through.
I stepped further back, uncomfortable with the way Harper was gazing
up at him, listening to him.
Lyle was next to me in an instant, his arm wrapped around my
shoulders. “I got you,” he whispered, rubbing my arm to calm me.
I wanted to ask him to leave. I didn’t want to watch Rellian interact
with Harper any longer.
But if I left, Harper would think she finally pushed me away far
enough.
I stood my ground with shaky knees, and I gripped Lyle’s shirt at the
back to steady myself.
“I’m sorry,” Harper finally said.
Rellian shook his head, taking a step to the side and nodding in my
direction. “It’s my girlfriend you have to apologize to.”
I straightened my back and tried to look tough. I hated how weak I
was. How my insecurities surfaced because of her.
Harper rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. When she
finally looked at me, I knew whatever she was going to say to me next
didn’t mean shit to her.
She was apologizing because Rellian told her to, not because she felt
sorry for what she said.
“Sorry,” she muttered, her gaze moving back to Rellian. “But she
should really watch where she’s going. Next time she bumps into me, I
won’t be as nice.”
I wanted to laugh.
One, because she was lying right to his face. And two, there was
nothing nice about what she said before Rellian arrived.
“She came up to us. Started verbally attacking her out of nowhere.”
No one gave Lyle enough credit. He was a wonderful friend. One I
was lucky to have because of Rellian.
“Yeah. Not doubting that she’s lying even in the slightest,” Rellian
murmured, his gaze locked on Harper’s. He was angry, but he tried his best
to keep his emotions inside. He wasn’t the confrontational type, and I hated
that I was the one putting him into situations like these.
“Leave. And don’t ever talk to my girl again.”
Harper was oblivious to what he was saying. She was in her own
world, probably thinking that this was Rellian’s way of flirting with her.
I didn’t matter to her. Not one bit.
“See you around, handsome.” With that, she left, followed by her
minions.
The second she was gone, he turned around and pulled me to him with
his arms wrapped around me tightly. He kissed the top of my head,
murmuring into my hair. “This is why I don’t like leaving you alone. I’m so
sorry, sweet girl. She’s a fucking monster.”
I didn’t want to talk about Harper any longer. I nodded and gripped his
shirt tightly, tilting my head back to look up at him. “I’m okay. Lyle was
here to protect me.”
He brushed the strands of hair out of my face, studying me carefully
before giving me a simple nod.
He leaned in to kiss me, and when he pulled back, he looked at his
best friend. “Thank you, man. I appreciate you protecting her.”
Lyle nodded, and he couldn’t help but grin. “Anytime, bro. Won’t let
anyone mess with your girl.”
Rellian reached out his hand to squeeze Lyle’s shoulder, then his
attention was on me again. “One more class and we’re out of here. Ready?”
I was excited for that. The weekend was close, and I couldn’t wait to
relax after this first week of senior year.
“Ready.”

Chapter 84
RELLIAN
I invited everyone over Saturday night, and I told Dad not to worry
about us for dinner.
We ordered pizza while he and Ellie went to eat something at a
restaurant, leaving us kids alone for a while.
We were hanging out in the shed, and I had pulled out all the pillows
and covers I could find in the house, so everyone was comfortable on the
bean bags and couches.
To all of our surprises, Lyle had brought company. A sophomore,
Peyton, who he met after football practice on Friday.
She was a sweet girl, and we all liked her a lot.
I overheard her telling the girls that she played soccer, and since
soccer practice at school was right when the football team was out on the
field, Peyton had been watching Lyle for a while.
She’s been interested in him for almost a year now but had always
been too shy to walk up to him.
But on Friday, she found enough courage to go and talk to him.
Lyle apparently played it off as if it wasn’t a big deal, but according to
Mason, Lyle was blushing for the rest of the night.
“Hey, you.” Kielyr came up behind me as I was washing my hands in
the sink.
I looked at her through the mirror, grinning at her. “Hey, beautiful.
Have you eaten enough?”
“Yes. But I was hoping to have some of those cookies that Ellie made.
She made enough for all of us.”
I turned around and dried my hands, then I placed them on her waist to
pull her close. “Does that mean you’ll be going to the kitchen right now?”
She nodded, her lips curling up into the sweetest smile. “That’s exactly
what it means. Do you wanna come with me?”
She didn’t even have to ask.
I would always take the chance to be alone with her.
Leaning in, I kissed her gently and pulled her closer, deepening the
kiss by pushing my tongue into her mouth without asking for permission.
She let me in willingly, our kiss turning rough for just a moment
before we pulled back to catch a breath.
“Come with me,” she whispered, taking my hand in hers and then
turning around to face the others in the room.
The shed was big enough for all of us, but I did have to grab a spare
mattress from the garage, so everyone had a place to sleep.
“Where are you going?” Mason asked.
“Getting cookies from the kitchen,” Kielyr replied, smiling at him. “I
hope you guys want some too.”
“Would love to.”
“Great. We’ll be right back.”
Mason smirked at me, raising his brows as he said, “Will there ever be
a day where you two won’t be glued to each other?”
I grinned and made Kielyr turn to me, and without a warning, I picked
her up and threw her over my shoulder. “Never. Every damn second that I
get to spend with her is so fucking valuable, you have no damn clue,
brother.”
Kielyr squealed, holding on to the bottom of my shirt, then she
laughed and accepted what was happening by letting her body relax.
Before anyone could say anything else, I walked out of the shed and
into the house through the backdoor, and once I reached the kitchen, I
carefully let her down onto the counter.
She smiled at me as I stood between her legs, with my hands on her
thighs and her feet locked behind me.
“Do you think the others are annoyed?”
“By us?”
She nodded.
“No. I don’t think they’re annoyed by us. It’s not like Brady and Rosie
never make out right in front of us, or Darius and Gloria never tell each
other how much they wanna have sex instead of sitting in class.”
She laughed at that. “True.”
“Besides, it’s not like we’re doing anything crazy.”
“Like what?”
I shrugged. “Like…having sex while others are in the room.”
She puckered her lips as if that thought excited her, and I watched her
closely to understand better. To figure out what she was thinking.
She dropped her gaze to my chest and played with my shirt, pulling at
it gently.
A smile tugged at the corners of my mouth, and I tilted my head to the
side, studying her. “What’s on your mind, baby?”
“Nothing.”
I raised a brow, lifting my hand to her chin to tilt her head back.
“Doesn’t look like nothing. What is it?”
“I was just…wondering.” Her eyes moved all over my face, and while
she was trying to come up with a way to say what was on her mind, I
already knew what she was thinking. “We’ve been sneaking around for so
long.”
It was a simple and true statement. But one that meant so much more. I
smirked, then I leaned in to kiss her cheek softly. “So what you’re saying
is…”
Her breath caught, and she bit the inside of her cheek.
I chuckled, kissing her lips before pulling back. “Alright, I understand.
Let’s get those cookies.”
I turned and opened the cupboard to grab a plate, then I placed some
of the cookies onto it, leaving a couple on the baking trey for Ellie and Dad.
“You wanna grab some more drinks?”
She got off the counter and went to the fridge, grabbing the last pack
of coke.
Once we got everything, we went back to the shed and put everything
onto the table. “Dig in.”
“They look delicious,” Gloria said.
“Who made them?” Peyton asked, reaching for the cookies to grab
one.
“Ellie made them. She’s a really good baker,” Kielyr answered, and I
agreed with a nod.
While everyone enjoyed the cookies, I sat back down with Kielyr next
to me. We had cuddled up on one of the bean bags, already used to how
uncomfortable it could get on there. But we didn’t mind.
Another hour passed, and the first couple had already fallen asleep.
Brady and Rosie were out, cuddled under the covers on the mattress.
“How can they sleep with the TV being so loud?” Peyton asked Lyle.
He laughed. “They got some kind of superpowers. They once fell
asleep in the cafeteria during lunch.”
I chuckled, remembering that day. “They really did. It wasn’t easy to
wake them.”
“They’re perfect for each other,” Kielyr whispered next to me. She
was getting tired too, but she was fighting sleep.
“They sure are.” I kissed her temple and tightened my left arm around
her shoulders to pull her even closer. “Just like we’re perfect for each
other.”
She turned more to her side to snuggle up against me, and I put my
other arm around her waist as she tangled her legs with mine. “I love you.”
“I love you too, baby. So fucking much.”

Chapter 85
KIELYR
Mason put on a movie because there was nothing on TV, and while
everyone but Rosie and Brady were watching, I couldn’t really focus on
anything other than Rellian’s fingers.
He was brushing them along my stomach, tickling my skin right at the
seam of my sleep shorts, and he dipped them inside to tease me every now
and then.
He was looking at the TV screen, but I knew he wasn’t focused on the
movie.
He was very aware of every little move, and every stroke of his fingers
was perfectly calculated.
I tilted my head back to look up at him, to study him as he continued
to caress me, and when I pressed my hips against his side, his gaze dropped
to meet mine.
He smiled that handsome smile of his, whispering, “Everything
okay?”
I nodded, smiling back at him. “Everything’s perfect.”
His eyes stayed on mine as his hand wandered over to my hip,
squeezing it gently before his body moved. He shifted to his side, his hand
still on my hip, and his attention fully on me now.
He kept watching me, studying me closely while I did the same, my
eyes taking in every inch of his gorgeous face.
Then, he looked up. He searched the room for something before his
eyes landed on mine again, and as he leaned in, I saw a gleam of mischief
in his gaze.
Our noses touched, then his mouth covered mine. He moved his lips
slowly, then his tongue brushed along my bottom lip before he dipped it
into my mouth.
He retreated before I could get a taste, and when his hand came up to
cup my cheek, he held me there and plunged into my mouth again.
His tongue swirled around mine once, twice, until I lost count.
A moan wanted to escape, but I managed to keep it to myself and not
have anyone else in the room hear what Rellian’s kiss was doing to me.
Before I knew it, he was gone again. He licked his lips and watched
me as I did the same, then his eyes met mine again.
“I wanna try something.”
Here?
Now?
I braced myself for whatever he had in mind. “Okay.”
“But you gotta be really quiet.” He was talking so softly, and I almost
couldn’t hear him over the sound coming from the TV.
I nodded, patiently waiting for his next move.
“Keep your eyes on the TV,” he ordered.
I frowned, wondering if I was interpreting this all the wrong way.
Didn’t he want to do something dirty?
Gosh…I was reading too much into it.
I did as I was told, and shortly after, his hand dipped into my short,
covering my pussy with his fingers.
I immediately looked at him again, my eyes wide and full of sudden
excitement.
“Eyes on the TV, sweet girl,” he whispered, and I immediately looked
back at the TV.
I wasn’t interested in the movie, and all I was thinking of was what his
fingers were going to do next.
They moved over the thin fabric of my panties, grazing my folds
gently before he pulled my panties aside to feel me on his fingertips.
“Fuck…you’re so wet. All just for me.” His voice was in my ear and
only for me to hear. He was being careful not to let anyone know what was
going on under this blanket, and I thought he was doing a pretty good job.
I adjusted my body, parting my legs so he had better access, then I felt
his fingers circling my clit, and my pussy clenched in an immediate
response.
I moved my gaze back to him, unable to keep my eyes on the TV. I
wanted to look at him while he made me come.
A sigh left me, and he kissed me to not let any other sound escape me.
We couldn’t risk having our friends find out what we were doing.
“No sound, baby.”
I nodded, my lips melting into his as his fingers continued to stroke
my clit.
He knew exactly how to make me come, how to touch me to make me
reach a climax.
Only this time, it wouldn’t be as easy to let go. I’d have to keep quiet,
make sure no one heard me.
Rellian broke the kiss again, resting his forehead against mine. He was
on his side and covering most of me, making it easier for me to hide my
expression from the others.
I curled my toes as my clit throbbed harder, and I lifted my hips to
meet his touch, needing more.
Then, without a warning, a warm sensation spread through my body,
and my legs tensed.
“That’s it,” he murmured against my lips, his own curled into a soft
smile. “Come for me, baby. But don’t make a sound.”
That was the hardest thing he had ever asked of me.
I bit my bottom lip and swallowed hard, and when the orgasm slowly
crept up on me, I buried my face into the crook of his neck, holding my
breath to not make a sound.
His left arm was still wrapped around my shoulders, and he cupped the
back of my head to keep me close as I climaxed.
He caressed my hair, whispering the sweetest yet dirtiest things to me.
“Such a good girl. Fuck, I wish I could be inside of you right now.”
I wanted that so badly, but this was all I was going to get tonight. We
couldn’t just sneak off to our bedroom and leave our friends down here
when it was us who had invited them.
“You okay?”
I nodded, tilting my head back to look into his eyes. “I’m okay.” I
smiled, breathing in deeply. “Thank you.”
He chuckled and pressed a kiss to my cheek. “Don’t ever thank me for
this.”
But I wouldn’t stop thanking him.
Not if he kept on loving me like this.

Chapter 86
RELLIAN
I liked to think that Kielyr and I were both juggling school, extra
homework, and climbing perfectly.
We aced every single test we’ve had so far, and even with us focusing
on ourselves most of the time, we spent enough time with each other. I
loved our study sessions the most.
No day passed where I didn’t get her to myself for at least a moment,
and our relationship couldn’t have been going better.
But when things went this smoothly, life always threw shit your way—
ruining everything for no fucking reason.
Kielyr and I were back home after a long day at school, and tonight we
weren’t going to the gym.
We trained three to four times a week, and we were on the right track
to compete at the next competition, but tonight we would relax.
I had planned to make pizza and have ice cream later tonight while
watching a movie, and it would’ve all gone to plan if Dad and Ellie weren’t
home already.
“You’re home already?” I asked as they walked into the kitchen.
Dad looked stressed, and Ellie was looking at me with an apologetic
look.
“What happened?”
“We had a little argument about the café,” she explained.
“Little.” Dad huffed, shaking his head. “You dropped a fucking bomb
and expect me to just accept it.”
“Atwood.” Ellie tried to calm him down, but when Dad was this
furious—which happened very rarely—it was difficult to get him to come
back down. She looked at me with a gentle smile. “Why don’t you and
Kielyr go out tonight? Maybe go watch a movie and have dinner, hm?”
She wanted us out of the house to have time to clear up whatever was
going on between them. Frankly, I didn’t want to be here while they argued.
I nodded. “Sure. We can do that.” I grabbed a can of Sprite out of the
fridge and looked at them again. “Sure you’re okay?”
“We’ll be fine. Thank you, Rellian.” Ellie smiled.
I studied them for a moment, then I decided that they were old enough
to handle this without my help.
I headed upstairs to find Kielyr in her bedroom, sitting at her desk,
reading.
I knocked at her door, waiting for her to turn to me, and when she did,
I walked over to her to hand her the Sprite. “Let’s go watch a movie. Ellie
and Dad want us out.”
She frowned. “Why?”
“They had some sort of argument. We should give them some time to
handle it.”
“Oh.” She studied the can in her hand, her lips puckered. “Do you
think they’ll be okay?”
“For sure. It’s something about the café. Think they had a
disagreement about the location or something. Come on, let’s go see what
movies are playing.”
We grabbed our jackets and headed downstairs, avoiding the kitchen,
and walking straight outside to my car.
Once I drove onto the road, Kielyr opened the can and started drinking
her soda. “Do we wanna ask the others if they wanna hang out with us?”
I thought about it for a moment, then I shook my head. “I’d like to be
alone with you tonight. If that’s okay.”
I didn’t want to sound like a total obsessive douchebag who wouldn’t
let his girlfriend spend time with friends. We saw our friends enough, and
sometimes, I just liked being alone with her.
She was smiling as I glanced over at her. “Okay.”
For some reason, I had this strange feeling inside of me.
Something heavy. Something I couldn’t quite explain, and I didn’t like
it one bit.
I was feeling protective all of a sudden, but I pushed it all aside to
focus on making tonight fun for Kielyr.
I parked in the mall’s parking lot where the movie theater was also
located on the inside, and I grabbed her hand as we walked to the entrance,
looking around to see if I knew someone.
It was a Wednesday night, and not many people were out, so I knew
the theater would be fairly empty too.
“Are we gonna have dinner first?” Kielyr asked.
“Yeah. Are you hungry already?”
She nodded, looking around the mall as we stopped next to the
escalators. “A little.”
“What are you hungry for?”
I turned to her as she thought about it. I was facing her, and I cupped
her cheeks with both hands, brushing back the strands of hair that have
fallen into her face.
I couldn’t stop admiring her. She was so fucking beautiful.
Inside and out.
She kept studying her surroundings, then her gaze lingered on the
directory board which we were standing right next to.
I knew all stores and food vendors were listed on there, and she took
her time to figure out what she was craving.
“Tacos?” She looked at me with the most perfect smile, then her brows
furrowed. “Or pizza. Fried rice also sounds good.”
I chuckled and pulled her to me, having her wrap her arms around my
waist as I put mine around her shoulders.
I kissed her forehead before suggesting, “How about we head up there
and get you a little bit of everything?”
“That sounds great.”
“Let’s go.” After pressing one more kiss to her forehead, I took her
hand in mine and went up the escalators to get to the food court.
***
“Did you have enough?” I asked as Kielyr leaned back in her chair, her
hands covering her stomach.
“Yes. I think I’ve had more food tonight than I’ve ever had in my
whole life.”
I laughed before taking another sip of my Coke. “Does that mean you
won’t get popcorn or nachos to watch the movie?”
Her eyes widened. “No, I will still get a snack. That’s a must at the
theater.”
True.
“God, you’re adorable.”
I grabbed everything off the table to throw it into the trashcan, then I
held out my hand for her to take. “Come on, let’s go see what movies are
on.”
We were excited, and I was ready to enjoy whatever movie she’d
choose, relaxing while holding her close at a place we wouldn’t be
bothered.
But just like earlier this evening, the sensation of something bad
happening was back, and I was even more alert than ever, feeling this
intense urge to keep my girl safe.

Chapter 87
KIELYR
The movie we chose to watch wasn’t as interesting as we thought it
would be.
It was an indie movie about a broken marriage, and though I tried my
hardest to get into the storyline, I just couldn’t.
As the movie stopped and the lights went on to indicate the ten-minute
break, I turned to Rellian and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek. “I gotta go
to the restroom,” I whispered.
“I’ll come with you.” He was ready to get up, but I pressed my hand
against his chest to keep him seated.
I raised a brow at him, holding back a grin. “I’m a big girl, Lee. I can
go to the toilet by myself.”
He sighed, leaning back again. “Fine. But be quick.”
I kissed his lips before getting up, and after he squeezed my hand
gently, I left to head to the restrooms.
They were down the hall and close to the food court. When I turned
the corner, I caught a glimpse of Harper and one of her friends.
She just has to be where we are, I thought, wondering if it was simply
coincidence or if she was showing up on purpose.
Though there was no way she knew where we were all the time.
I looked away and entered the women’s restroom, trying my best to be
quick to be back with Rellian again.
When I finished and exited the stall to go wash my hands, the door
opened. Without having to look, I knew who had just come in.
Harper sighed loudly as if she hadn’t expected to find me in here. As if
she didn’t come in here on purpose.
I stood my ground, ignoring her while I dried my hands with the paper
towels.
“God, I can’t even look at her without gagging. What is she even
wearing? It’s hideous.”
If she thought simple blue jeans, white sneakers, and a white long-
sleeve shirt was hideous, then I didn’t know what to think. Maybe it wasn’t
my outfit that bothered her. But more so the fact that I didn’t have to show
off my tits and ass to people to be noticed.
I finally turned, ready to leave and go back to Rellian, but the way
Harper was glaring at me made me stop in front of her. I didn’t want to get
in her face and start shit with her, but something deep inside of me just
couldn’t shake off that one little question I’ve had ever since the first
moment Harper was rude to me.
“Are you okay?”
She raised a thin brow at me. “Excuse me?”
She thought I was mocking her. But I truly believed that something
happened in her past that made her become the person she was today. “I
asked if you’re doing okay.”
“Are you fucking messing with me?”
I frowned. “No, I’m genuinely concerned.” I didn’t know how to put
my thoughts into words. She wasn’t making me nervous, but there was a
tension between us. One I didn’t want to be there.
Harper let out a harsh laugh, turning back to her friend. “She’s fucking
with me. Can you believe that? What a fucking bitch.”
I was baffled.
How did she take everything I said and turn it into something it was
not? How could she think that every person who talked to her was out to get
her?
“I’m sorry. I should go. Rellian is waiting.” I gave her a tight smile,
ready to walk around them to leave. But like I had expected deep down,
Harper wasn’t letting me.
She pushed against my shoulders. “He can wait. Pretty sure he’s happy
to get some distance from you for once. You cling to him like damn glue.
Must be fucking annoying.”
If I wasn’t fully aware of Rellian’s love and admiration for me, I
would’ve questioned what Harper said.
But I knew I wasn’t clingy, and Rellian loved having me close.
I kept quiet, hoping this would soon be over and she’d let me leave.
“What, did you really think I would let you walk off without you
apologizing to me?”
“What did I say to offend you?” I asked, genuinely confused.
“You’re making fun of me. Why else would you ask if I’m okay? You
think I’m sick in the head?”
Yes.
Now that she mentioned it.
That might’ve been it.
“No.”
“Sure sounded like it.” She studied me, her eyes wandering from my
head to my toes with a condescending look on her face. “I still have no idea
why he’s with you. You’re nothing special.”
My jaw clenched and I fisted my hands on my sides. She was making
me angry, and all I wanted was to leave. “Please stop.”
“Or what? Are you gonna cry?” She laughed and she noticed my fists.
“Shit, are you gonna fight me? You’re pretty fucking confident.”
I would never fight her. Or anyone. Violence never crossed my mind,
no matter how angry I was.
My body was tense, and I wanted to scream. Let all my frustration out.
“I’m asking you to please leave me alone, Harper. I have done nothing to
hurt you.”
She laughed again, and it seemed as if she was trying to make me
think that I did do something to hurt her.
“She’s about to cry,” her friend said, and I wasn’t sure if she meant it
as a warning, or if she was making fun of me as well.
Either way, I wanted to run.
I moved, trying to walk past her again but she stopped me once again.
She grabbed my shoulders and pushed me, hard. I stumbled back and was
taken by surprise as a sharp pain rushed through my arm.
I immediately grabbed my elbow as tears stung my eyes. I hit it
against one of the sinks, and I must’ve hit it hard because the pain only got
worse.
A sob escaped me, making me look even weaker in Harper’s eyes. But
I wouldn’t cry. I couldn’t. it would only make things worse. “Please, I’m
begging you to leave me alone. I’m sorry for whatever I’ve said or done to
hurt you, but it was never my intention.”
There is nothing you have to apologize for. She’s literally manipulating
you.
The voice in my head was shouting at me, but I couldn’t comprehend
what it was saying.
I was way too focused on Harper, aware of every little move she made,
scared to be assaulted by her once again.
“So you admit to being mean to me. What will Rellian think of you
when I tell him, hm? I’m sure he would hate to find out that his perfect little
girlfriend is a bully.”
I was not.
Never was, and never would be.
She is messing with you. She’s trying to tear you down!
Nothing.
I heard nothing that voice said.
“I would like to leave.” I was hurt. My elbow was throbbing, and I
couldn’t bend it.
When she kept standing there, not saying a word but just staring at me
with those angry eyes, I tried to run again.
I made it past her this time, but just as I was about to reach the door,
she came after me and made me trip with her foot.
My breath caught in my throat as shock came over me, and because I
was still holding my hurting elbow, I fell head-first against the milky glass
door.
My forehead shattered the outer layer of the glass door, and I felt
something sharp slice my skin before I was on the floor, unable to speak or
breathe.
And seconds after realizing what had happened, everything went
black.

Chapter 88
RELLIAN
The movie had already continued, and Kielyr was still not back.
I looked toward the door of the theater, observing it for a while, but
she still wouldn’t appear.
I was convincing myself that she was big enough to find her way back,
but something was telling me that I needed to go check on her.
I got up and put the popcorn onto the seat before heading down the
stairs and out of the big red doors.
Looking around as I walked down the hallway, and as I turned the
corner, I saw Harper running away. She was literally sprinting, and one of
her friends was calling after her.
“…can’t leave her like this, Harper! Harper!”
I frowned.
The voice belonged to Clarys, and when I finally rounded the corner, I
saw her standing there with a horrified expression on her face.
Adrenaline rose inside of me in an instant, and I knew something
must’ve happened.
Kielyr.
I need to find her.
“Where is she!” I wasn’t asking. It was a demand for her to tell me
where my girl was.
When her eyes met mine, she swallowed hard and took a step back,
stumbling over her words. “I t-told her to s-stop and—”
“Tell me where she is!” I was walking toward her, but before she could
say another word, I saw Kielyr on the floor.
A puddle of blood had formed next to her head, one of her hands lying
in it, while her body was limp.
My heart ripped into a million pieces, and life all of a sudden didn’t
seem real anymore.
“No.” I breathed when I finally managed to think properly, and I ran to
her, kneeling next to her while I begged her to wake up. “Kielyr. Baby. I’m
here.”
“Rellian, I’m so sorry. It was all Harper. She—”
“Call an ambulance!” I shouted at her, my voice louder than it had
ever been. “Now!”
I looked at Kielyr, trying to figure out what had happened and where
she was hurt. I carefully turned her onto her back, needing to know if she
was still breathing.
“I’m here. I’m so sorry, I’m here now, baby.” My tears dropped onto
her sweater as I brushed back her hair, and my heart broke all over again
when I saw her face.
“No…baby.” My voice was so damn shaky, and I looked up at Clarys,
urging her again. “CALL A FUCKING AMBULANCE!”
“I d-did! I did, they’re coming,” she assured, her voice almost as
shaky as mine. “Rellian, I’m so so—”
“Shut up! Shut the fuck up and help me out here! She’s got shards of
glass all over her face!”
What the hell happened? How did it happen? Fuck…how did I let this
happen?
“Is she alive?”
“Yes, yes she’s breathing but she’s unconscious. Fuck, she’s hurt. My
sweet girl.”
“My goodness, what happened to the girl?”
I looked up to see an older man approaching us, and without waiting
for us to respond, he knelt down next to me and carefully pulled Kielyr’s
head onto his lap.
“She’s my girlfriend.” As if me saying that was helping in any way.
“She’s lost a lot of blood. Did you call an ambulance?”
“Yes, they’re on their way,” Clarys told the man when I didn’t reply.
All I could focus on was Kielyr.
I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
“What’s your name, son?”
Tears blurred my vision, but I managed to look at the man. “Rellian.”
“I’m Philip. Listen, Rellian. Your girl will be okay. Her breathing is
steady, but she passed out from the blow she got to her head. She’ll be taken
care of.”
I nodded, looking at Kielyr again.
There was still glass on her face, cutting into her skin as the blood was
already drying.
I hated how I couldn’t help her and stop her from hurting.
But most of all, I hated how I wasn’t there to protect her.
From the very first day of knowing her, I promised myself to keep her
safe no matter what, but I had just broken that promise.
I reached for her hand, unbothered by the blood covering her fingers
and palm. I pulled it closer, kissing her skin gently. “Please forgive me,
baby.”
Please come back to me.
***
“Rellian!”
I jumped out of my seat when I heard Dad’s voice echo down the
hospital’s hallway. He was running toward me with Ellie following close
behind. They were both horribly worried, and I braced myself for Dad to
blame this all on me.
But to my surprise, the first thing he did was to pull me into his arms.
“Are you alright?”
“I’m okay, Dad. Kielyr’s hurt,” I said with a strangled sob. “But the
doctor said she’ll be okay.”
He rubbed my back before pulling away and studying me. “You’ll
have to explain all of this to me later. I need to see my baby first.”
Ellie pulled me into a gentle hug. “Can we see her?” she asked,
looking around to find a nurse or doctor.
“They’re still fixing her up, but they should be done soon.”
“Who did this to her?” Ellie then asked, making us sit down on the
chairs in the hallway.
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair, unable to form actual
sentences as I saw her face before me, all hurt and covered in blood.
“It was all my fault.”
I looked up, seeing Clarys standing there, biting her bottom lip so hard
that it was bruising.
I frowned, wondering what she was doing here when she could’ve
simply gone home and forget all of this. “No, it’s not.”
“It is. I should’ve stopped her.” Clarys moved her gaze to Ellie and
Dad, swallowing hard before she continued. “I was there when Harper
started harassing Kielyr. She didn’t do anything to provoke Harper. Kielyr
was actually being very kind.”
I huffed out a laugh as anger rose inside of me. “Of course. Kielyr’s
nothing but kind to others. No excuses.”
“Let her talk, Rellian,” Dad warned, his hand touching my leg.
I lowered my head again, resting both elbows on my knees.
“Harper pushed her, and I think she hit her elbow because she held it
and looked like she was in pain. Still, Kielyr didn’t say anything to anger
Harper. It was all her. She…she was furious for whatever reason. I
should’ve told her to stop. I’m so sorry.” A sob escaped her, and though I
could sense Clarys’ honesty and remorse, I couldn’t look at her yet.
“What happened next?” Dad urged.
“Kielyr wanted to leave, and Harper made her trip. She fell head-first
against the glass door, and it shattered.”
“Fucking hell,” Dad muttered as he covered his mouth. “That girl’s
lucky that Kielyr is alive. I will have to talk to the police. That girl needs to
be fucking put away for how she treated my daughter.”
It wasn’t the time to worry about my relationship with Kielyr, but I
looked up to see if Clarys had caught on to Dad calling Kielyr his daughter.
She was frowning, her questioning gaze meeting mine for a split
second, then she looked away again. “Again, I’m so sorry this happened. I
hope Kielyr will be okay. I would like to stay if that’s okay. I have to
apologize to her.”
Ellie reached out her hand to touch her arm. “Now might not be the
right time…”
“Clarys.”
“Clarys,” Ellie said with a gentle smile. “Thank you, still.”
She gave a quick nod, then whispered, “Goodnight.”
I leaned back as she left, and I sighed with my eyes closed, wishing to
hold my girl.
I needed to see her, speak to her, and tell her that from today on, I
would do everything right.
No more pain.
No more tears.

Chapter 89
KIELYR
I was finally waking up.
This dream had gone on for far too long, and all I wanted was to wake
up and forget all about it.
Just like I so often forgot about my other dreams.
It was easy to, because the second I opened my eyes, a new day began,
and every unconscious thought I’ve had during the night disappeared.
Something was different.
My bed wasn’t as comfortable as I remembered, and the pillow was
way softer. Far too soft.
Something was stuck on my face. At first, I thought it was my hair. I
was someone who liked to move in my sleep. I tossed and turned, especially
when Rellian wasn’t holding me or when I was having a bad dream.
Like the one I was having before waking up.
A soft cry escaped me as I tried to open my eyes.
What is going on?
“Good morning,” I heard a deep yet soft voice say. It was gentle, but it
sent shivers down my spine. My mind was starting to race, and the wildest
thoughts rushed through my brain.
“Ellie,” I croaked out, still unable to open my eyes.
A hand touched my shoulder gently as the person moved closer. “Your
family is right outside, sweetheart. They’ll be so happy to see you again.”
Outside?
Where am I?
I needed to swallow but my mouth was too dry.
“Can’t see,” I whispered as I lifted my right arm, wondering why my
left was numb.
Then, all of a sudden it dawned on me.
It was all real.
Tears stung my eyes but they couldn’t fall. Whatever was on my face
covered both my eyes, and when I tried to furrow my brows, something
sticky pulled at my skin.
The man spoke again. “I will take the bandage off in a second. Let me
call Dr. Woodley so she can check on the stitches.”
Stitches.
Doctor.
Blood.
Blood that I smelled and tasted right before everything turned black.
I hit my head on the glass door because Harper made me trip.
My elbow.
I hit my elbow when she pushed me.
Emotions bubbled up inside of me, making me feel sick to my
stomach. Making my body cramp up.
I was sobbing, unsure of how acceptable it was to cry in front of a total
stranger who I hadn’t even seen.
“Oh darling,” the man said, his hand gently squeezing my shoulder.
“It’ll be okay. You’re incredibly strong, you know?”
I’ve heard that before.
But it was hard to be strong when you weren’t sure how badly you
actually got hurt.
I heard a door open, and I whimpered, hoping it was someone I knew.
“Yes, Olek?”
“Dr. Woodley, Kielyr is awake.”
“Oh, wonderful.”
My sobs got quieter, and I listened carefully as they moved around in
the room.
A gentle hand touched my shoulder. “Kielyr, my name is Dr. Woodley.
I’m so happy you’re awake. Do you remember what happened last night?”
I wanted to shake my head for the fucking sake of it. To not have to
relive the memories from yesterday. But I nodded because I knew it would
help her understand how I was actually doing.
“I want you to know that you’ll be okay, Kielyr. You’ve had to get
surgery on your elbow and stitches on your face. Your eyes weren’t
damaged, but there’s some shards of glass that got pushed pretty deep into
your skin. We got them all out and the stitches are going to heal nicely.”
I simply nodded, unable to comprehend everything she said. “I want to
see my family,” I whispered, wishing to finally be able to see.
“I will have them come inside in a minute. I’m going to take this
bandage off so I can check the stitches, okay?”
I nodded again.
I took a deep breath, telling myself to calm down.
Everything would be okay.
But right now, the only person who could make me feel better wasn’t
here.
I missed him, and I needed him to hold me.
To tell me that he loved me.
It took Dr. Woodley only a little while to take off the bandage which
was wrapped around my head, covering both of my eyes.
Once that was gone I could finally open my left eye, but there was still
a patch covering the right side of my face.
“That’s better, hm?”
I turned my head to look at Olek, a thirty-something, tall, European-
looking guy with wide shoulders and dirty blonde hair. He was smiling at
me gently, trying his best to make me feel comfortable.
And he was capable of doing just that. A smile tugged at my lips, then
I dropped my gaze to my left arm which was wrapped in a cast. “What
happened to my elbow?”
“It looks worse than it is, believe me. The bones were shattered from
the blow it received. I know you’re a climber. Your brother told me. He’s
worried but you will be able to climb again. It might just take a little while
to heal.”
Brother.
Even if I knew that’s what we were, I didn’t like hearing it.
I looked up again as Dr. Woodley walked back to the bed. She was tall,
her dark brown hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. She was beautiful,
and she looked about Olek’s age.
“Alright, let’s take off this patch and put on a new one.” She was
gentle with her fingers, carefully pulling off the patch, and I could finally
see with both eyes again.
I could feel the tension and pulling of the stitches.
Dr. Woodley observed my face, her fingertips softly touching my skin.
“Beautiful. It’ll heal up nicely.”
“Can I see?”
Her eyes met mine, and she looked indecisive at first, then she looked
at Olek. “Can you grab the hand mirror, please?”
He nodded and walked over to the cabinets, pulling out a small mirror.
Once he handed it to me, I needed a moment before looking at myself.
My breath caught as I took in the stitches and dried spots of blood
around the wounds. There was one big cut which started above my right eye
and ran down over my brow, then it started back up on my cheek and
ending right above the side of my jaw.
Another cut was on my nose, slicing right across the bridge of it, and
ending on the other side above my right nostril.
The rest were smaller cuts. Ones that didn’t need stitches.
“Will there be scars left once they heal?” I asked, putting the mirror
down and looking at Dr. Woodley again.
“Normally, wounds on the face heal well and often they fade out with
time. It depends on how your skin heals though. And on how thick the scar
will end up being. We have a special cream with helps which scars though.”
“You’re still very pretty,” Olek said. He could’ve said that just to make
me feel better, but he really meant it.
I smiled at him, quietly thanking him before taking one more look at
myself.
Those wounds didn’t bother me.
But the thought of Rellian not loving me anymore did.

Chapter 90
RELLIAN
We got told that Kielyr was awake, but we couldn’t go inside yet
because they needed to check on her first.
I was impatiently pacing the hallway while Dad and Ellie sat on the
same chairs they’ve been sitting on for hours last night. Doctors sent us
home, telling us to come back in the morning, and that’s what we did the
second we woke up.
I skipped school, wanting to be by her side.
“Rellian, why don’t you sit down?” Ellie asked gently. “We can see
her in a bit.”
I stopped and sighed, running my hands through my hair, and tugging
at the ends before resting them on my neck. “I need to see her. Now.”
“Sit, Champ.”
I looked at Dad, sighing once more before I sat down next to him.
“Don’t call me that. I won’t keep climbing. Not until she can climb again
too.”
“Rellian, don’t say that. We don’t want you to give up. Kielyr
wouldn’t want that either.”
Kielyr and I were doing extremely well in training, and we were on the
right track to becoming candidates for Nationals in January. There was still
time, but now that Kielyr couldn’t train anymore, it would take months for
her to get back to it.
And without her, climbing just wasn’t the same.
“Whatever,” I muttered with my hand covering my mouth.
Dad patted my back then squeezed my shoulder, silently showing his
support. I knew he was upset about what happened, but he didn’t show it as
much as Ellie and I did.
“Good morning.”
We looked up at the man standing in front of us, and even if I hadn’t
taken a closer look at him last night, I knew it was Philip. The guy who
helped last night when I was desperately trying to keep Kielyr alive.
“Hey,” I said, standing back up and reaching out my hand. “Philip,
right?”
He took my hand to shake it. “Correct. I left my name with the nurses
last night, and I hope it’s okay that I came to see how your girlfriend is
doing.”
I tensed, hoping Dad and Ellie misunderstood him. They didn’t
because Dad shifted in his seat and Ellie whispered something under her
breath.
Maybe they’re just confused.
I shook those thoughts away and focused on Philip again. “Thanks, I
appreciate that.” I pushed my hand into my hoodie’s pocket. “She has a
fractured elbow and some pretty bad cuts on her face. Her eyes are okay,
thankfully. Doctor said she’ll be okay.”
“I’m glad to hear. She probably had a pretty bad concussion, huh?”
I nodded, then Philip turned to Dad and Ellie, shaking both their
hands. “Your daughter’s a real fighter. Glad she’s gonna be okay.”
“Thank you.” That was everything Dad was able to say.
“Thank you for helping. We would like to show our gratitude with
something. Some gift card or—”
Philip interrupted her by lifting his hand. “That’s all right, Ma’am. I
was happy to help. Now, I would love to stay and say hello to her, but I
have to go to work.”
“Thank you again,” I said, shaking his hand once more before he left.
I turned back around and found myself frowned at by the both of them.
“What?”
“Girlfriend? What the fuck is going on?” Dad said.
I swallowed, unable to ignore the fact that we had been lying to them
both for months. Hell…for almost a damn year.
“Son, what the fuck is going on?”
“Atwood,” Ellie hissed. “Maybe Philip misheard him.”
Yeah, that’s it. No more girlfriend talk.
I was saved by the door opening behind me, and I quickly turned
around to watch Dr. Woodley walk out.
She smiled at us as the door behind her shut, and we all stood there,
waiting for her to talk.
“She is awake and doing great. Olek has just given her some pain
reliver and she’ll soon get breakfast. She has a patch over the right side of
her face to cover the bigger wound, so she’s only able to see out of her left
eye, but we will be taking the patch off in a couple of days so the wound
can breathe and heal nicely.”
“What about her arm?” Dad asked.
“It’s in a cast which she will have to wear for a few months. It’s best to
keep the cast on for a bit longer just to make sure, and she won’t be allowed
to do physical activities for a while after the cast is off.”
I hated to hear that.
She couldn’t climb and it was all Harper’s fault.
Anger came over me thinking about what a horrible person Harper
was.
My hands balled into fists, and I had to tell myself to calm down
before I freaked out like I had last night in my bedroom.
Here I couldn’t punch the damn wall without making a scene.
“Can we see her now?”
She looked at me and smiled. “Of course. If there’s anything you need,
I will be around until ten, but after that my colleague will start her shift.
Olek will be around the whole day though.” With one last nod, she walked
off and I immediately stepped to the door, pushing it open.
My eyes found her in an instant, and though I was happy to finally see
her, I had to take a deep breath before walking over to her. She looked so
tiny and fragile in that hospital bed, and all I wanted was to hold her.
“Lee,” she whispered as I finally reached her.
I grabbed her right hand, squeezing it gently as I took her in. “Hey,
sweet girl,” I said quietly, and seconds later, tears streamed down my face
uncontrollably. “God, I’m so fucking sorry.”
She squeezed my hand but pulled it out of mine to cup my cheek. She
brushed her thumb over my cheekbone, her pretty brow furrowing. “It
wasn’t your fault, Lee. Please know that.”
“Sweetheart.” Ellie stepped up on the other side of the bed, gently
touching Kielyr’s shoulder. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
Dad was the only one who didn’t say a word. He stood and observed,
but I knew on the inside he was hurting just as much as we were.
I hoped that he wasn’t still thinking about the girlfriend thing. I didn’t
want this to be harder on Kielyr.
She was already going through enough.
“Dad, she needs you right now,” I said, my gaze pleading for him to
lose that harsh look on his face.
It’ll be okay, sweet girl. No matter what’s going to happen, I’ll be right
by your side to protect you.

Chapter 91
KIELYR
Rellian wouldn’t leave my side, and even when I was eating breakfast,
he wouldn’t let go of me. His hand was constantly on my thigh and
stomach, and he even fed me some fruit when I was struggling to use the
fork to eat it with.
Ellie kept asking me how I was feeling, and Dad was silently sitting
there, watching me closely and never moving his gaze off me.
It was okay that he wasn’t as worried. Rellian and Ellie were worried
enough, and Dad’s calmness helped me relax a little.
Though, there had to be something on his mind.
Something that was bothering him.
“Dad?” I asked gently, and he finally snapped out of his thoughts.
“Yes, sweetheart?”
“What’s on your mind?”
He sighed, his gaze dropping to his hands before he got up and walked
over to the end of the bed. “Nothing. I’m trying to figure out what to do
with that girl who’s been harassing you for months. You should’ve told
me.” The last words were directed at Rellian. “You knew about it. You
should’ve told me.”
“I know.” He was going to take the blame, but it wasn’t his fault.
“I should’ve told you. It was me she was bullying, not Rellian. I
should’ve told our teachers and you guys.”
Dad ran his hand through his hair, fisting his ends tightly. “Either way,
the police need to get involved. That girl has to pay for what she’s done to
you. You could’ve gone blind. That glass could’ve made you bleed out.”
“Atwood,” Ellie said calmly, reaching out her hand to touch his
forearm. “Thankfully none of that happened. Let’s not worsen the situation.
She has enough to deal with at the moment.”
Dad looked at her for a moment, evaluating her words before he
turned to me again. His look softened, and he reached down to touch me
foot above the covers, squeezing it gently. “I’m glad you’re here,
sweetheart. I’m proud of you for being so damn strong.”
I smiled at him, feeling tears stinging my eyes as the need to hug him
grew. “Thank you for saying that, Dad.”
He nodded, squeezing my foot once more. “I uh…I’m gonna go grab
something to eat. You want something?”
“I’m good,” Rellian replied.
“Just coffee, please,” Ellie added.
Dad gave another nod, then he left the room.
“Do you want some more water?” Rellian asked as I looked at him
again.
Gosh, he was so thoughtful. So damn protective.
“Yes, please.”
While he got up to fill my cup at the sink on the other side of the
room, I turned my attention to Ellie.
She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t quite put it into words.
“What is it?” I asked softly.
She opened her mouth, words almost falling out, but she stopped
herself and pressed her lips into a thin line.
When Rellian sat back down next to the bed, handing me the water, I
was still looking at Ellie.
Her eyes moved from mine to Rellian’s, and the longer she kept doing
that, the more nervous I got.
“Ellie…”
“How long have you two been in love?” She didn’t stutter.
Did she really just ask that?
Shit…
I looked at Rellian. He was just as baffled by her question, but he
definitely handled this better than me.
I couldn’t think straight.
Why now?
“How long have you known?”
Ellie’s eyes widened as she realized that we were really in love.
Rellian had just admitted to it without having to answer her question.
“I’m very observant,” she stated, as if that explained everything. Her
smile was gentle as if she was okay with it, but her eyes were filled with
confusion and question. “I’m not mad. I just…know your father might not
react this calmly.”
“Then let’s not tell him.”
“Rellian.” Ellie clicked her tongue. “He will find out eventually. I’m
sure he has already caught on. He’s been acting strange.”
“Can we not talk about this right now? I really don’t want to deal with
this. I’m hurting.” It was the very first time in my life where I decided not
to be selfless for once.
I was in pain, my heart was aching, and I hated that Ellie was putting
me in this situation.
I wasn’t at home where I felt safe, and I couldn’t hide in my room if it
all became too much.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I just need to know one thing,” she said, her
voice unsure. “Are you being…safe?”
“Yes.” That came out of both of our mouths, and I looked at Rellian to
see what he was thinking.
He was still looking at me. This hadn’t affected him as much as it
affected me.
He dealt with it way better, and I knew I could count on him to handle
this conversation once we were in a better environment.
This just wasn’t the place or time to talk about our illicit love.
Hell, to us it wasn’t wrong, and we would do anything to stay together.
No matter who knew.
No matter how difficult it would become.

Chapter 92
RELLIAN
I didn’t want to leave her side, but the day had gone by and visiting
time was almost over.
Since it was a Friday, I would be back first thing in the morning, and
though leaving her all alone made my heart ache badly, I told myself that
she needed to rest.
“If you need anything, let the nurses and doctors know. And if you
need to talk, give me a call, alright?”
Kielyr smiled up at Ellie and nodded. “I will. Thank you.”
“Take the pain relievers and eat what they bring you, alright? And
drink lots of water.”
“I will, Dad. See you tomorrow.”
Once they both stepped away, I moved closer to her and cupped the
side of her neck gently, careful not to touch her wounds. “We’ll be here first
thing in the morning. Text me, okay? Or call. I don’t want you to be lonely
in here.”
She smiled up at me and tilted her head to the side to lean into me.
“Okay.”
I looked back to see where Ellie and Dad were standing, and with Dad
already out the door, I leaned in to kiss her head. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she whispered back.
She squeezed my arm when I leaned back again, and I smiled at her,
wishing I wouldn’t have to leave her.
“Rellian.” Dad was calling out to me, hurrying me as visiting hours
were over.
I sighed, then I left her in that hospital room with a heavy heart.
She’d be okay. She was being taken care of by the nurses and doctors,
and she wouldn’t have to stay at the hospital for too long.
***
My friends were waiting on the front porch when we drove up the
driveway. They all had worried looks on their faces. I had told them about
what happened this morning. I had to let them know.
“Do they know?” Dad asked as he turned to look back at me.
“Yeah. They asked to come by. I could use some distraction for a
while.”
Dad grunted and turned back around. “No sleepover. Send them home
before midnight.”
I nodded. They wouldn’t stay that long anyway.
We got out, and while Ellie and Dad walked past them, they all told
them how sorry they were, and that they knew Kielyr would be all better
soon.
Once they entered the house, I looked at my friends with a tight smile.
“Hey. Thanks for coming.”
Lyle was the first to step up, and he pulled me into a hug, patting my
back gently. “Of course, man. I’m so sorry for what happened to Kielyr.”
When he pulled back, Rosie came up to me and hugged me too, her
voice shaky. “Harper is such a horrible person. We will make sure she gets
what she deserves. I’m so glad Kielyr is okay.”
“Thanks, Ro.” I squeezed her waist gently as she moved away, and
once I hugged every single one of them, I made them follow me around the
house and to the shed.
Once we all got comfortable, I let out a heavy sigh. I knew they
wanted to know how she was doing, so I told them.
“Her elbow is fractured, and she has to wear a cast for a couple of
months. Can’t do sports for a while, no climbing. The glass shattered and
sliced her face. Her eyes didn’t get damaged, but she’s got a pretty bad cut
across her forehead and cheek. They stitched it up properly and the nurse
said it will heal nicely. Still…every time she’ll look in the mirror, she’ll be
reminded of what that cruel and hurtful girl did to her. Fuck, Kielyr doesn’t
deserve any of that shit.”
Rosie was sitting next to me, and so was Lyle, and they were both
trying to calm me down by rubbing their hands on my back and leg.
“We know. But you know what? She’s so strong, and never has she let
herself down to Harper’s level. It’s really incredible how she stayed
respectful and kind when Harper kept being a bitch to her,” Rosie stated.
I agreed with her, but it still hurt to see her like that. To know that not
everything will ever be the same.
Things changed last night, but I hoped to be the one to keep making
Kielyr happy. To show her that life wasn’t over after something like this.
“She’s full of life and love. No fucking way she’s not going to be the
same anymore. Hell, I think this will make her even stronger,” Mason said,
making it sound like a promise.
I looked at him and nodded. “I hope so. I just wish I would’ve been
there to protect her. I shouldn’t have left her alone.”
“Hey.” Gloria got up and walked over to me, kneeling down in front of
me with her hands on my knees to steady herself. She noticed I was having
self-doubts. “None of this is your fault, okay? It was all Harper. And God…
I wish we would’ve stepped up before something so horrible happened. But
you can’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault, Rellian.”
I looked into her brown eyes which were filled with so much honesty
and truth. What she was saying made sense. Still, I hated how my girl was
hurting.
“Thank you, Gloria.”
She smiled tightly and pushed herself up to hug me, then I felt more
arms around me until I was in the middle of a big group hug.
And that’s when I couldn’t hold it in any longer.
I cried while my friends held me, promising me that everything would
be okay.
Harper was just a glitch in our story.
She didn’t matter.
Never had.
But what did matter was my love for Kielyr.
From now on, nothing and no one will ever hurt you again. I promise
you, sweet girl.

Chapter 93
KIELYR
I had fallen asleep after eating dinner, and when I woke up again, it
was already eleven-thirty.
I wasn’t in a lot of pain, but the stitches under the patch on my face
were itching, and I couldn’t scratch them.
I had to distract myself, so I reached for my phone and checked if
Rellian had sent me a message.
I smiled when I saw the two messages on the screen, and I read them
before tapping on them to reply.
Rellian
Our friends were here but they left now. Are you sleeping already?
Rellian
Text me in the morning. Get some rest. I love you, sweet girl. We’ll be
there first thing in the morning.
He sent those texts half an hour ago, but I was sure he was still awake.
He wouldn’t be able to sleep. Not with all that worry within him.
I touched the videocall button, then held my phone in front of me with
my right hand, seeing myself on the screen.
I hope people won’t treat me differently with those scars on my face.
It only took two rings before he appeared on the screen. “Hey, baby.
Are you okay?”
I smiled gently, feeling the pull on my skin from the stitches. “I’m
okay. I fell asleep after eating dinner.”
“Are you still in pain?”
“Not as much anymore.” I studied him closely as his eyes moved all
over the screen. “How are you, Lee?”
He laughed and ran his hand over his head and face. “You’re in the
hospital, and you’re asking me how I’m doing? You really are special, you
know that?”
“You’re hurting too,” I stated honestly. I saw it on his face, and I felt it
in my heart. He was just as broken as I was.
He slowly nodded, his face falling. “I just wish I could’ve prevented
this. I hate seeing you like this. It hurts, you know? You don’t deserve this.”
“I’ll be okay.”
He sighed, shaking his head once more. “I know you will, but I don’t
like how calm you are about all this. You should be angry. You should be
cursing Harper to hell. You’re too fucking good for this earth, Kielyr.”
I wasn’t sure how to respond. I knew he meant well. He wasn’t mad at
me for not being mad at Harper. He was rightfully confused as to why I
didn’t blame her directly.
“I don’t want to talk about her. I don’t want to give her the attention
she’s always been craving. Of course, I want her to apologize and realize
what she’s done, but that’s all I want. I’m going to be better.”
He thought about my words, and I let them linger for a while, waiting
for him to understand what I was saying.
To my surprise, he changed the topic of our conversation. A smile
spread across his full lips. “The others would like to come visit you
tomorrow if you’re okay with that. I don’t want them to bother you if
you’re not comfortable with them coming though.”
“I don’t mind. I would love to see them.”
“Yeah? I’ll tell them to come after lunch though. I’m sure Ellie and
Dad want to spend some time with you first.”
“Okay.” I smiled back at him, but it faded shortly after. “I wish I could
kiss you.”
“I wish I could kiss you too. God baby, I wanna hold you so fucking
bad.”
A single tear rolled down my cheek. I couldn’t even cry properly with
that patch over my eye. “I love you, Lee. I can’t wait to see you again
tomorrow.”
“I love you too, sweet girl. You should get some more sleep now.”
I nodded and took in his handsomeness one last time before we said
goodbye and stopped the call.
I put my phone away and breathed in deeply, getting lost in my
thoughts before I fell asleep.
RELLIAN
We’ve been sitting at the breakfast table for almost twenty minutes
now, and no one has said a word.
I looked at Ellie and Dad, watching them closely as they both avoided
my gaze.
This was about Kielyr’s and my relationship. Although I wasn’t sure if
Ellie had actually told Dad, it did seem like it.
I put down my cup and leaned back in my chair, eyeing them for a
moment before clearing my throat. “We can talk about it, you know? I’d
rather tell you instead of having you speculate and judge us silently.”
Ellie was the first to look at me, and her tight smile told me that she
was definitely not judging.
Hell, how could she? She was dating her damn cousin.
“I told him last night.”
I moved my gaze to Dad, waiting for him to finally look at me.
He tapped his fingers on the table, and I saw the tension in his
shoulders.
I’m not going to like what he’s going to say, I thought, but I was
wrong.
“I’m the last to tell you to stop. I have no right to judge you two. I just
want you to be safe. I think it’s clear that…”
I knew what he wanted to say, but I decided to cut him off and make
that one thing clear.
“We’re using protection. We’re being careful.”
He nodded, and I was certain that it was in that moment when he
realized that Kielyr and I had been having sex.
It wasn’t an easy thing to swallow, but it was reality, and I wasn’t
going to try and whitewash what Kielyr and I had been doing for the past
year.
“Alright.” Dad rubbed his stubbled jaw as he let his mind settle on
everything we’ve just discussed, then he looked at me again. “That’s why
you never wanted us to tell people that I’m actually her father.”
“Yeah, and it might be a great idea if we kept it that way. She’s still
your daughter. She’s still gonna call you dad. It’s just…different for me and
her.”
“Don’t worry, Rellian. This will stay here for only us to know,” Ellie
said, and I looked at her with a smile.
“Thank you.”
The silence was back again, but I knew this time there was no
questions left to be asked on their side. They both understood, and though I
was sure there would still be moments where Kielyr and I would have to
defend our love, I knew that in the end it would all turn out okay.
Nothing would come between us. Nothing really ever had. And from
now on, I would be an even more possessive and protective boyfriend,
making sure no one would ever hurt my girl again.

Chapter 94
KIELYR
When Rellian walked into the hospital room, my face lit up with a
bright smile while my heart pounded in my chest.
I had missed him so much ever since I last heard his voice the night
before, and now that he was here, I wouldn’t stop looking at him.
“Hey, sweet girl.” He walked up to me with a bunch of flowers in his
right hand, and a small teddy bear in his left.
“Are those for me?” I asked. My excitement was ever-growing, and
though the tension on my face from smiling so much hurt my wounds, I
couldn’t stop.
“Sure are. Do you like them?” he asked as he leaned in to kiss the top
of my head.
“I love them. They’re beautiful.” I eyed the many different kinds and
colorful flowers, then I grabbed the teddy bear with my uninjured hand. “So
cute. Thank you so much, Lee.”
He smiled and me and carefully brushed through my hair. “Of course,
baby. How are you feeling?”
“Oh, I’m doing much better. Olek said he will come by later to take off
the patch so the stitches can breathe and heal faster.”
“That’s great. It’s probably itchy under there, hm?”
I nodded, smiling up at him again as he stepped aside so Dad and Ellie
could say hi to me.
They both squeezed my shoulder, and Ellie caressed my cheek gently.
“Hi, sweetheart. Have you had breakfast yet?”
“Yes. They brought it pretty early.” I studied her and then looked over
at Dad who sat down at the end of the bed. He was lost in his thoughts, and
I wondered if he also knew.
If Ellie had told him about Rellian and me.
But I wasn’t going to ask about it.
I was way too nervous to have that talk.
We were silent for a while as Ellie pulled up two chairs and sat in one
of them close to Dad, and Rellian pulled his chair next to the bed, so that he
was able to touch my hand.
When he squeezed my fingers gently, I turned my head to look at him,
eyeing him as he studied me. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, everything’s fine. When did you say Olek will come by and
take that patch off?”
“He didn’t say when exactly, but I can call for him. See if he’s got time
to take it off right now.”
He nodded with a smile. “Alright, let’s do that.”
I let go of his hand to reach behind me and press the small button
which would activate the call light.
About two minutes later, Olek came into the room. “Oh, hello visitors.
What can I do for you?”
I smiled at him. “Would it be possible to take this off right now?” I
pointed at my face.
“It’s starting to bother you, hm?”
“A little bit.”
“Alright, let’s see.”
He came around to the other side of the bed and pulled a medical cart
closer. I studied the cart while Olek grabbed a couple of paper towels. He
had done this yesterday as well, but this time he wasn’t preparing a new
patch to put on my face.
“May I ask how much longer she will have to stay here?” Ellie asked
while Olek started to gently pull off the tape that held the patch on my face.
He was being careful not to hurt me.
“Dr. Woodley suggested that she stays for the weekend, and when
she’s feeling okay, she can leave on Monday morning. It might be best if
she stays home for another two days though. Just to be sure.”
“I’ll have her take the week off,” Dad said. “You need to rest. Not just
physically.”
“That’s a great idea, Sir.” Olek was done pulling off the tape, and once
the patch was off my face, I looked up at him with both eyes, watching as
he checked up on my stitches. “They’re looking better already. I will put
some more of that cream on it, and I want you to keep on applying it every
time you feel the wounds getting dry, alright?”
I nodded. All eyes were on me, and though they had already seen the
stitches, I couldn’t look at them right now.
I had never felt insecure about the way I looked, but I knew I didn’t
look the same anymore.
I was going to be different. People would stare.
God…I don’t want to feel this way. I’m still me.
“What has been used for the stitches? Glue?” Ellie asked.
“Dr. Woodley used tissue adhesive for the majority of the wounds, but
she had to use suture right here, close to her lip as the cut was slightly
deeper.” Olek pointed to my upper lip with his pinky. He was being so
careful not to accidently touch me.
“Does it still hurt?” Dad then asked, but I shook my head.
“No. I don’t really feel anything.”
“The cream has a subtle numbing effect,” Olek explained as he applied
it gently with a cotton swab. “Alright, perfect. It’s healing up nicely.”
He smiled at me, then he cleaned up the cart before pushing it back to
its spot. He put the cream on the nightstand next to my bed, and before
leaving, he handed me the hand mirror. “If you need anything, just press the
button.”
I gave him a tight smile, then he left the room.
I dropped my gaze to the mirror, not looking at myself yet.
“You okay, kid?” Dad asked, and I knew they were all wanting to see
my face.
“I’m fine. I guess I just have to get used to…this,” I explained.
“That’s okay, sweetheart. Just know that you’re still very pretty.”
I dared to peek.
I saw the wound starting above my right eyebrow, and the more I lifted
the mirror, the more I saw of my face.
Once I saw all of my face, I felt tears stinging my eyes.
“Hey,” Rellian whispered, his hand gently caressing my arm. “Talk to
us.”
I didn’t know what to say. How to put my thoughts into words. I was
having mixed feelings about the way I looked, and I knew if I tore myself
down, I would only make it harder on myself.
I swallowed and took in the wounds on my face, until I finally had the
strength to speak. “I’m scared people will treat me differently.”
“They won’t,” Ellie assured. “You’re still you, Kielyr. If anything,
people will admire you.”
“Even more than they already do,” Rellian added.
He made me smile, and I looked up at him through my lashes. “You
think so?”
“I know so. You’re a beautiful person, Kielyr, and I’m not just saying
this because I love you. You have no idea the effect you have on others. You
light up a damn room every fucking time you walk into one, and I can
promise you that no person you’ve ever met has not liked you.”
“Except Harper.”
“That girl’s not worth mentioning, kid,” Dad said, and I finally looked
at him again. “She was jealous. That’s why she did those horrible things to
you. But if she wouldn’t have had such self-hatred inside of her, she
would’ve been just as nice to you as everyone else. Sadly, there will always
be girls like Harper in your life, but you know what to do differently this
time. No more hiding. No more keeping bullies like that protected. Call
them out. Tell us, your teachers. Tell everyone so nothing like this ever
happens again.”
I would do just that.
Though, I liked to think that I wouldn’t have to deal with someone like
Harper ever again.
“I’ll make sure that girl pays for what she’s done. I will go to the
police station first thing on Monday.”
I nodded, not stopping him from doing so.
I hoped Harper would receive the help she needed. There was
something deeply rooted inside of her that made her the way she was. And I
was certain that she’s not always been that way.
“You know what?”
I turned my head to look at Rellian. “What?”
A smirk spread across his face, and I braced myself for what he was
going to say next. I knew it would make me smile.
“Despite everything…you’ll look pretty fucking badass with those
scars.”
Laughter bubbled up inside of me, and for the first time since the
accident, I was genuinely happy.

Chapter 95
RELLIAN
I could tell she was insecure about the way she looked, with the
wounds still healing, and the stitches still fresh.
But after Dad and Ellie had left to go grocery shopping for the
weekend, and we were left alone for a moment, she was slowly becoming
herself again.
She was smiling at me, and I moved closer to the bed, placing my
hand gently on her stomach. “What’s on your mind, baby?”
She leaned in closer and rested her head against mine, and we both
closed our eyes to enjoy this closeness. “A whole lot. But I don’t want to
talk about it. I’m just glad you’re here. And I’m excited to see our friends
again.”
I pressed a gentle kiss to her jaw, careful not to touch her wounds.
“They’ll be here around two. You’ll get lunch soon, right?” I asked as I
moved back again to look into her eyes.
“Yes, but I’m not looking forward to it. I don’t really like hospital
food.”
“You want me to order something?”
“We can do that?”
I shrugged. “Why not? You’re allowed to eat whatever, right?”
She nodded.
“So let’s order something you actually will enjoy. What would you
like?” I asked as I pulled out my phone.
She thought about it, and while I opened the app, she looked at me and
said, “I’m craving a cheeseburger with extra cheese. And an iced caramel
macchiato.”
I grinned. “Sounds delicious. Want fries with that?”
“Yes, please. And a brownie. No wait. A donut.”
I was going to order both.
“Anything else for my girl?”
Her smiled curled in the most adorable way. “No. But I want you to
eat with me.”
I could definitely do that. I ordered more than just a cheeseburger and
fries for her from McDonalds, and I added a second drink to her Starbucks
order.
“Alright. It should be here in less than thirty minutes.”
“Thank you, Lee. This makes staying at the hospital more tolerable.”
I reached for her left hand, gently caressing it. “How’s your elbow?”
“Fine.” She looked down at her arm in the sling, then she looked up at
me with gentle eyes. “Rellian, I want you to keep climbing. I know you’re
mad about this. That I can’t go back to train for nationals. But I don’t want
you to give up because of me.”
“It’s no fun to climb without you.”
“Yes, it is.” Her voice was stern and direct. She wasn’t taking any of
my excuses. “You love climbing. You loved it before we even met, and we
both know you will do great at nationals. Remember what Aaron said? He
sees you on the Olympic team, and he knows others are already considering
you to be on it. You know how amazing that would be? You can’t stop now.
Not because of me.”
I shook my head. “It won’t be the same without you.”
“But I will be there no matter what, Lee. I will be there by your side
either way. I hope you know that. I just don’t want you to throw away such
great opportunities.”
I lowered my head while I kept holding her hand. I knew she wasn’t
going to let me stop climbing. She would tell me to continue. To do great
things. But it was hard when the same opportunities that she had were
interrupted or even taken away like this.
“You know…sometimes I wonder how you’re even real.” I looked up
at her and chuckled, and she laughed softly with a tilt of her head.
“We’ve been over that many times before. I’m very real,” she stated
with a hint of amusement in her voice.
“Well, I still think I’m dreaming most of the time. You’re so fucking
special, sweet girl.” I pushed myself off the chair and placed my hand
gently at the back of her head, then I leaned into kiss her forehead above
her left brow where her skin wasn’t hurt. “I love you.”
She touched my arm and leaned into me. “And I love you.”
“I will continue to climb. But I will help you to get back on those
boulders. You’ll be able to climb again.”
No matter how long it would take.
She was talented, and I hated the thought of her talent to go to waste.
***
Kielyr was eating her second donut, and I couldn’t help but admire
how much this girl was able to eat.
Granted, what she was getting at the hospital wasn’t nearly enough—
or good enough—to fill her stomach, but the food I ordered did the job.
“This was exactly what I needed,” she stated, leaning back against the
big pillow.
“Good. I’ll leave this brownie here for you. In case you want to eat it
later today.” I had ordered three brownies, and we each had one.
“You don’t want it?” she asked, wide-eyed.
“You’ll enjoy it more.”
A knock at the door made us both turn our heads, and I felt her
excitement when she realized who that was.
“They’re here,” I said, grinning at her, then Rosie appeared in the
door, with Brady and all the others standing behind her.
“Come in!” Kielyr said enthusiastically.
I was glad our friends came to visit and wanted to be close to her
while she went through this difficult time.
“Hey, you,” Rosie said with that genuine smile of hers. She walked
closer, holding a basket in her hands with all kinds of sweets and chips in
them. “Hope we’re not interrupting something.”
“We just finished eating lunch,” I said, getting up from the chair to
clean up and throw away all the wrappers and paper towels. “Come in. Grab
some chairs.”
I gave them some space, wanting Kielyr to enjoy their presence. They
wouldn’t stay all day, but I knew they’d come back tomorrow.
My girl was surrounded by wonderful people.
Friends who loved her and supported her, and who would do anything
to see her smile.
And I was incredibly thankful for that.

Chapter 96
KIELYR
“Damn, Kielyr. You look badass with those scars on your face. I mean,
you’ve always been very pretty. But still—”
“Lyle,” Mason warned him, but I smiled at them with a gentle shake of
my head.
“It’s okay. Rellian thought so too.”
They were all sitting around the bed, looking at me with big eyes filled
with question and admiration.
They brought gifts and balloons to cheer me up, and they definitely
managed to do that.
Rellian was back at my side, sitting next to me on the bed with his arm
wrapped around my shoulders.
I had my left arm gently tucked against my stomach, and Rellian was
making sure he wouldn’t be pressing his side against my elbow.
I looked up at him and smiled gently, and I closed my eyes when he
leaned in to kiss the top of my head.
“When are you allowed to go home, Kielyr?” Gloria asked, and I
turned to look at her.
“I have to stay the weekend, but the nurse said I’ll be allowed to go
home on Monday. I will have to stay home for a couple of days before I can
go back to school though.”
“You’re not missing much,” Brady murmured, and Rosie nudged his
side with her elbow.
“It’ll be good for her to go back to school,” she said, looking at me
with a smile. “All the teachers have asked about you. Miss Rubio was so
worried. She’s making us do this big banner to hang above the classroom
door to welcome you back.”
“That was supposed to be a surprise,” Darius stated with a frown.
“I hate surprises anyway,” I said, smiling at them. “That’s so nice. I
can’t wait to go back. It’s so boring to just lie around in bed for so long.”
“You’ll be allowed to move around, I’m sure. And you got all your
books back home. You can finally catch up on all those paperbacks that
have been piling up lately,” Rellian teased.
Oh, I couldn’t wait.
We both weren’t able to read as much as we would’ve liked lately.
Because of school and climbing, and because every free minute we got,
we’d spend with each other.
I leaned into him more and closed my eyes for a moment, needing to
remind myself that he wasn’t going anywhere.
Rellian was here to stay. Mine to have.
And no matter how hard I’d try, I wouldn’t be able to shake him off.
We spent the rest of the afternoon talking and laughing with our
friends, and before dinner, they all left.
Right when they brought my dinner, Dad and Ellie were back, and
they brought clean clothes for me to change into.
Taking a shower wouldn’t be easy with the cast on my arm, but Ellie
was going to help me after I’ve had my dinner.
Rellian shot me a look when he saw what the food looked like, and I
laughed softly, shooting him a look to say that I’d survive it.
It wasn’t all that bad.
Having the people that I loved around me took my mind off the
tasteless food on my plate.
***
Just like promised, I was allowed to go home on Monday.
Ellie came to pick me up, and to celebrate me going back home, we
stopped at Starbucks to get coffee.
Rellian was at school and Dad at the gym, but they’d be home around
lunch.
Once we got home, I got comfortable on the couch and Ellie turned on
the TV for me, and after putting on The Office, I grabbed my phone to text
Rellian.
Kielyr
I’m home :)
He read my message right away, and though he was in class, he took
the time to write me back.
Rellian
So happy to hear, baby. I can’t wait to get home. Only two more
classes and I’ll be there. How are you feeling?
Kielyr
I feel okay. I’m not in any pain anymore. Though, my face is a little
itchy.
Rellian
Did you apply that cream on the stitches?
Kielyr
Yes.
Rellian
Good. It’ll be better soon. Baby, I gotta go. I wanna finish this paper
so I have time to spend with you tonight. I can’t wait to see you.
Kielyr
Okay. See you soon. I love you.
Rellian
I love you too, sweet girl.
I put my phone aside after reading his message, and I continued to
drink my coffee while waiting for him to come home.

Chapter 97
RELLIAN
Dad picked me up after school and we grabbed lunch at one of
Kielyr’s favorite places.
We wanted her to have special days at home, and now that she was
back home, we would make sure she was going to be prepared to go back to
school next week.
I knew she was excited to go back. I would be right there protecting
her.
“Have you been to the police?” I asked Dad as we drove down the
road and toward our house.
“Yeah. Told them everything and made sure they got that girl’s name.
They’ll be calling her parents and we’ll go from there.”
“Sounds like a good start.”
“Yeah well, I’m not gonna keep on living with the knowledge that
there’s a girl walking around, capable of hurting others like she hurt Kielyr.
I won’t let that fucking slip. I want justice for my daughter.”
We all wanted that.
And we would get it.
“Don’t worry, Dad. Things will turn out okay.”
He nodded, and the second he parked the car in the driveway, he
changed the subject. “Grab the food from the back.”
“Alright.”
We got out, and after taking the food from the backseat, we headed to
the front door.
As we entered, I immediately darted my eyes toward the living room
where I knew Kielyr was sitting.
She had her head turned toward me, and I smiled at her as our eyes
met.
“Hey there,” I greeted as I walked over to her.
God, she looked so damn pretty.
Even with those wounds on her face, she looked like an angel.
Her eyes were big and glowing, and her smile was so fucking
beautiful. “Hi.”
A grin spread across my face. “I’m so happy you’re home.” I leaned in
to kiss the top of her head, and when my face was close to hers, she touched
the tip of her nose to mine.
Whatever she was comfortable doing without hurting herself, I would
let her do.
She was being careful though.
“I’m happy I’m home too.”
“Good. Are you hungry? We got a whole bunch of things.”
“Very hungry.”
“Wanna eat here on the couch?” I didn’t want her to be uncomfortable.
“Oh no. I can come to the table.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.” She smiled at me with a sincere look on her face.
“Alright.”
I watched her get up, then we walked over to the dining room where I
put the food onto the table.
“Hello, Rellian. How was your morning?” Ellie asked.
I looked over at her while I pulled Kielyr’s chair back, helping her sit
down. “Great, thanks.”
“I have something I want to tell you guys.”
“What is it?” Kielyr asked.
We all sat down, and I helped Kielyr get the food she wanted on her
plate. She could only use her right hand to eat, but she was doing just fine.
She was independent even when hurt.
“I decided to use the space next to the gym to open up a café. I figured
it would really be the best place for me, even if it’s not in the town center.
There will still be enough people coming in to get coffee or a sandwich.”
“That’s amazing, Ellie,” Kielyr said with a wide smile. “I’m sure
there’ll be lots of people visiting the café.”
I nodded, agreeing with her. “Especially when there’s competitions at
the center. People love to eat cake and drink coffee while watching others
compete.”
“It’s the only right decision,” Dad added. He was pleased to hear Ellie
had decided to open up the café next to On the Rocks. He’d want to have
her close.
Ellie glanced at Dad, unable to hide her amusement. “Of course, you’d
think that.”
Dad muttered something under his breath, making us laugh.
“I could help you with the baked goods,” Kielyr suggested.
“That would be wonderful. I know people will enjoy your cakes and
cookies.”
I was sure of that too.
Kielyr was a great baker.
Hell, everything about her was great.
I placed my hand on her thigh, gently squeezing it.
I wanted lunch to be over already so I could take her upstairs and be
alone with her.
Once we were finished, I helped clean up the table before grabbing a
cold bottle of water from the fridge to bring upstairs.
When Kielyr got up, Dad stopped us by shooting us a look. I knew
exactly what he wanted to say.
Now that he knew about our relationship, he was acting all weird
around us.
I frowned at him. “She’s got a broken elbow, Dad…”
He raised his hands. “I’m just saying. Don’t do anything stupid.”
“We won’t,” Kielyr assured.
He studied us for a while, then he gave a quick nod to send us off.
I chuckled as we headed up the stairs, and Kielyr nudged my side with
her uninjured elbow.
“Stop laughing,” she warned, but she wasn’t being serious about it.
“But it’s funny.” I paused as we got to her room, and I looked at her
with a grin on my lips. “Just because you can’t move your arm, doesn’t
mean I can’t go down on you.”
I was trying to lighten the mood, and I managed to do so by telling her
something naughty.
That always worked.

Chapter 98
KIELYR
I got comfortable on my bed and watched as Rellian grabbed my
laptop from the desk.
“Do you wanna watch a movie?” I asked, smiling at him as he came to
the side of the bed.
“You don’t want to?”
“Oh no, I want to. What movie were you thinking of?”
He got onto the bed next to me, and once his legs were under the
covers, he placed the laptop on his lap. “A movie you haven’t seen yet. Can
you think of one?”
I puckered my lips and thought about all the movies I had already
seen, and it took me while to remember the movies I’ve been wanting to
watch.
“Got one?” Rellian asked, smiling at me.
“No.”
“Wanna browse?” He moved the laptop, so I was able to see the screen
better. He had opened Netflix, and I moved in closer to check out the
movies I had put on my watchlist.
“There’s so many,” I whispered under my breath while I leaned against
his side.
He was patient with me, and after about fifteen minutes, I decided on a
movie I knew he also hadn’t watched.
We cuddled up under the covers, with my laptop on the bed between
us.
I missed being this close to him.
I hadn’t spent too many days at the hospital, but it was long enough to
miss him immensely.
I was lying on my right side, with my casted arm resting on my
stomach, and Rellian had put his arm around my shoulders, so my head was
resting on his chest.
He kept kissing the top of my head, taking in my scent, and caressing
my shoulder and neck with his fingers.
When the movie was coming to an end, I turned my head to look up at
him, smiling as his eyes met mine.
“Lee?”
“Hmm?”
“Were you being serious before? About…going down on me?”
He didn’t expect me to say that, and his eyes widened in surprise with
a hint of amusement in his grin. “Of course, I was being serious. Do you
want me to?”
I shrugged. “If you want to…”
“Of course, I do.” His grin grew, and he put the laptop away to push
himself up. “I don’t want to hurt you though.”
“You won’t.”
We studied each other, wondering if this was a good idea, but my arm
wouldn’t really play a part in him pleasuring me.
“I should go lock the door,” he suggested, and I gave him a quick nod.
He got up from the bed, and I watched as he walked over to the door
to lock it, and when he turned back around, he had that intense gleam on his
face.
God, I wanted this so badly.
He walked back to the bed and got onto it at the end of it, and as he
moved closer to me, I pushed myself up with one hand to lean against the
headboard.
I watched him closely as he took in every inch of me.
“I must look very sexy with my arm wrapped in that sling.”
He chuckled. “You have no idea how fucking sexy you are. No matter
what. You always look beautiful, baby.”
My cheeks flushed and I clenched my thighs, trying to avoid more
throbbing of my clit.
“Maybe I should…” I swallowed as my voice gave in.
“Maybe you should what?”
“Uh…” I bit my bottom lip and looked at my legs. “Maybe I should
take off my pants.”
He laughed softly and placed both his hands on my knees, pushing my
legs apart. “That sounds like a great idea. Let’s do that.”
He leaned in and hooked his fingers into the waistband of my
sweatpants, then he pulled them off my hips and down my legs before
letting them fall onto the bedroom floor.
I kept looking at him as he did the same with my panties, and once I
was only wearing my sweater, Rellian got comfortable between my legs.
He was propped up on his elbows with his head between my thighs.
I had both my arms crossed over my stomach. I was most comfortable
that way with my injured elbow.
“I missed this,” he growled as he trailed kisses along the inside of my
left thigh. “I missed tasting your sweetness.”
It hadn’t been too long since it all happened, but I related to how much
he missed being this close.
“I missed you,” I whispered, knowing he knew what I meant.
He looked up at me with that handsome smile right before he buried
his face between my thighs.
His mouth covered my pussy, and his tongue licked through my slit
slowly, teasing me.
I sighed and rested my head against the headboard, but I kept my eyes
on him.
He flicked his tongue against my clit, making it throb even more.
“Oh yes,” I moaned, lifting my right hand, and pushing my fingers
into his hair to grip it tightly. “Please don’t stop.”
He wouldn’t even think of stopping.
My lips were parted, and I had to make sure not to be too loud. Even if
Dad and Ellie now knew about us, I didn’t want to make them feel
uncomfortable.
But also, I didn’t want to make them worry that I could hurt my elbow
during this.
Rellian moved both his hands to my ass, squeezing it gently before he
moved one hand closer to my pussy where he slid his fingers through my
wet folds.
My hips bucked, and without having to ask for it, he pushed two
fingers into my pussy while his thumb teased my asshole.
“Oh!”
He shot me a warning look. I was being too loud.
I pressed my lips into a thin line to keep from moaning again. I was
trying my hardest not to make any sound, but it was incredibly hard when
he was licking my clit and fingering me like that.
I felt an orgasm build deep inside of me, and the tingles in my toes
told me that I was already close.
It was so easy with Rellian. Although I had no one to compare him to,
I knew no other guy could ever make me feel this way.
He knew exactly how to touch me, how to use his tongue and fingers.
He knew how to use his body to make mine feel good. To make me feel
special and loved.
And every new high he brought me to, was a promise he’d keep
forever.
“I love you so much, Lee,” I whispered right before I came, and while
my mind and body spiraled out of control, I heard Rellian’s words echo in
the distance.
“I love you too, sweet girl. Always will.”

Chapter 99
KIELYR
“Are you sure you’re ready to go back to school?” Ellie asked as she
helped me undress.
It was Monday morning, and after that long week at home, I couldn’t
wait to finally go back to school.
I was bored most of the days, especially while Rellian was at school.
When he was home, we spent every second together. Still, I couldn’t take
one more day staying at home.
“I’m ready. I’ll be fine, Ellie.”
“I know you will. I’m just…worried.”
“Why are you worried?”
She shrugged as she folded my shirt. “Kids can be mean. I’m scared
they’ll make fun of you. You know…”
She was talking about the cuts on my face. The ones that were actually
healing up pretty nicely and weren’t as red and swollen as they were last
week.
“I don’t care what others think.”
“I know you don’t. Still—”
“Ellie.” I stopped her, placing my right hand on her shoulder. “I want
to go back to school. I need to catch up if I want to keep my grades up. And
I’m so bored at home. I want to see my friends again, and I want to learn.
And I can’t do that if I don’t have a teacher to actually teach me.”
Ellie studied me while I spoke. She sighed and shook her head, and a
small laugh left her. “Alright. But I want you to tell your teachers or Rellian
when you’re not feeling well. You’ll come home if you need rest, deal?”
“Deal.” Though, I knew I would be fine.
Ellie helped me take a shower with my cast still on. We put plastic
wrap around it to make sure it wouldn’t get wet.
I was excited for my next appointment. I might be getting the cast off
and get something more comfortable, and I would find out how well my
elbow was healing.
I had a good feeling though.
Once I got dressed, I headed downstairs with Ellie following me, and
when we got to the kitchen, Rellian was already waiting, ready to leave.
“You look beautiful,” he told me with that handsome smile of his.
I blushed, wondering how beautiful I really looked with those scars on
my face and that arm in a sling.
I probably looked like a wreck.
“Thank you. I like that sweater on you,” I said to him, taking in the
navy-blue sweater he had on.
He grinned and walked over to me, ignoring Ellie as he placed his
hands on either side of my neck. He leaned in to kiss me, and I melted into
him immediately.
It was a gentle yet deep kiss, and I wanted it to last for more than just a
couple of seconds.
We couldn’t stand here and have a full-on make out session though. It
would be a bit strange with Ellie in the same room.
Dad was already at the gym. With him still here, Rellian wouldn’t
have kissed me like this.
Even if Dad was working on accepting our love, we knew it wasn’t
easy for him.
But then, Dad never really had it easy talking about his feelings.
“I filled up your cup with coffee so you can take it with you. And I
packed us both a snack for later.”
I smiled up at him while he kept holding my face in his hands. His
thumbs were gently caressing my skin, and he was careful not to graze my
scar.
“Thank you. That’s so nice of you.”
“Anything for you, sweet girl. You ready to go?”
I nodded. “I’m ready.”
“Be careful,” Ellie called out as we headed out of the kitchen.
“I’ll protect her, Ellie. Don’t worry.”
With that promise, we headed to school.
I was greeted by all my friends with careful hugs and kind words. We
were standing at my locker from which Rellian was grabbing the books I
needed this morning.
“I swear, Kielyr, you look even hotter than before.” Lyle wouldn’t stop
talking about my scars, but it didn’t bother me. It amused me more than
anything, and I was glad that he still liked me just like the others did.
Other than the scars, nothing about me had changed.
“Can you stop drooling all over my girl, man?”
I laughed at Rellian’s request, reaching out for him to rub his arm.
“He’s just being nice.”
“But he better stop if he wants to keep his girl. Isn’t Peyton the jealous
type?” Brady asked, grinning at Lyle.
I had almost forgotten about Peyton. “How’s it going with her
anyway?”
Lyle’s facial expression lit up in an instant, his eyes glowing, and his
cheeks flushing. “Great. Pretty sure she has already fallen in love with me.”
Rosie nudged Gloria’s side with an amused grin on her face, then she
said, “You sure about that? Last time we talked to Peyton she said she
wasn’t so sure about you because you just can’t man up and kiss her.”
Lyle frowned. “I kiss her. Hell, I kiss her a whole damn lot. What the
hell are you talking about, Ro?”
She laughed softly. “I’m just messing with you, Lyle.”
“What did she really say?”
Rosie shrugged. “Something about her heart beating really fast every
time you walk her way.”
So sweet.
I was happy for Lyle. He deserved to be loved, and he got lucky with
Peyton.
I turned to Rellian and saw him smirk. He was happy for his best
friend too, and I knew he was always giving him advice.
When his eyes met mine, he winked at me, making me melt like ice
cream in the sun.
He really had to stop being this attractive. Who even gave him the
right to look so good and be this wonderful?
We got pulled out of our thoughts when Darius called out Rellian’s
name. “Harper’s friends are coming toward us.”
We turned to look down the hall, and we saw Clarys and three other
cheerleaders walk our way.
The big bunch of flowers surprised me, and when they stopped in front
of us, Clarys smiled tightly as her body tensed.
“Hi, Kielyr. We heard you might be back today, and we wanted to
apologize for everything that happened. Well, mostly I want to apologize.
There was so much I could’ve done to prevent this.” She studied me as I let
her words sink in. She was being genuine, and I could tell she was
disappointed with herself. “How are you?”
Rellian reached for my hand and curled his fingers around mine,
holding me and silently protecting me.
He noticed that I wanted to have this conversation without him being
my spokesman.
I smiled softly at Clarys. “I’m doing okay.”
“I’m glad. I got you flowers and a Starbucks gift card. I know gifts
will not heal any wounds, but I didn’t want to apologize emptyhanded.”
They handed me the flowers with an envelope sitting between them.
I admired the flowers, then looked up at her, still smiling. “Thank you.
That’s very thoughtful of you, Clarys.”
I decided to simply accept her gift and apology. There were no hard
feelings between us. Not really.
Even if she really could’ve stopped Harper from being a bully instead
of tagging along.
“Again…I apologize for everything that happened, and I’m glad
you’re okay.”
I nodded, showing her that her words and act of kindness were
enough.
“What’s up with Harper?” Rellian asked.
It didn’t bother me that he asked because I was curious to know as
well.
Clarys looked up at Rellian. “At home. Her parents hired a
psychologist. Well, she’d been going to therapy when she was younger, but
she stopped when she started high school. I guess they’re hoping that
through therapy they’ll find out why she’s behaved this way. But…only
time will tell.”
“Thanks, Clarys.”
“Of course. I can keep you guys updated. I’m sure Harper’s parents
will soon want her to apologize as well. Have a nice day,” she then said
with a tight smile before she left with her friends.
“Well, that was something.”
I looked at Mason and noticed that he wasn’t as convinced as I was
about Clarys’ apology, but I didn’t read too much into it.
I didn’t want to ruin the way I was feeling. I was happy. Excited to be
back at school.
Nothing really changed.
Besides the way my face looked.
But I was still the same person.

Chapter 100
RELLIAN
When Dad had told us that Harper and her parents were coming over
today, my initial reaction was to throw my phone against the wall.
I didn’t think three weeks after what happened to Kielyr was enough
time. I was certain she didn’t want to see Harper again, but apparently
Harper’s parents were going send her to a clinic where she would stay for a
while.
Kielyr was picking at the skin around her fingers as she sat on the
couch next to me. She often picked her skin when she was nervous. And
she wasn’t often nervous.
I watched her and gave her space to think, to collect her thoughts
before she’d have to face Harper.
When she looked up, there was worry written all over her face. She
looked unsure, uneasy. She didn’t want this to happen.
“Is it necessary for them to come to our house? Wouldn’t it be easier
for us to meet on neutral ground?” she asked, looking up at Ellie.
“They asked to come over, Kielyr. I couldn’t tell them no or suggest
going to a restaurant or something. They won’t be here for long. They only
want to talk.”
“I know. I just…” Kielyr sighed, dropping her gaze to her lap again. “I
will listen to what they say but I don’t think I’ll be willing to talk to them.”
“That’s okay, sweetheart. You don’t have to say a word. We’ll be the
ones talking,” Dad assured.
I looked at Kielyr again, and I reached for her hands to close mine
over hers. “It’ll be fine. We’re here for you.” I squeezed her hand gently
and rubbed my thumb along her fingers.
“Thank you.” The smile on her lips was faint, and it vanished as the
doorbell rang.
“I’m right here,” I whispered as I felt her body tense, and I moved
closer to her to make sure she felt protected.
I watched as Dad walked over to the front door, and after a brief first
conversation, he walked back into the living room with Harper’s parents
following close behind.
Harper was hiding behind them, but her parents exposed her by
stepping aside.
“Hello, Kielyr. Rellian.” Harper’s dad nodded at us, and the mother
smiled tightly.
“Hey,” I replied for the both of us, squeezing Kielyr’s hand once more.
I didn’t bother being polite. Hell, I was being polite enough. Harper’s
presence was making me angry, but I couldn’t make this situation worse for
Kielyr.
“Please, sit. Would you like something to drink?” Dad asked, but they
both shook their heads.
Harper’s mother responded. “Thank you, Atwood.”
I didn’t know their names. I only knew their last name, but I didn’t
feel like using it.
I knew her parents weren’t at fault for what happened to Kielyr. Still,
after this, I wouldn’t pay them any attention.
“Harper, come sit, please.” Her father was reaching out his hand to
her, but Harper stood there, not moving, and staring at Kielyr.
I wanted to protect my girl from her stare. Harper’s eyes were filled
with pity, and a hint of pain.
She knew exactly how badly she treated Kielyr, yet I didn’t quite
believe that the hurt she was feeling was directed at Kielyr, but more at
herself.
There was no sympathy inside of that girl.
Zero.
All she was probably worried about was what going to happen to her.
Once she was seated, her mother immediately opened her mouth again
without giving Kielyr enough time to settle into this situation.
“I would like to start off by saying how incredibly sorry we are. My
husband and I apologize wholeheartedly for how Harper treated you,
Kielyr. Her behavior was unacceptable, and we wish we would’ve known
what was going on.”
Kielyr wasn’t looking at them. Her eyes were fixed on our hands, and I
moved even closer to show my support.
She had every right not to look into their eyes.
“We are so sorry for the hurt Harper has caused you. We know there is
nothing that will take away all the pain you’ve endured,” Harper’s mother
said. Out of the three of them, she was the only one who actually seemed
sorry.
Still, I wanted them all to leave.
“Thank you,” Ellie said, knowing Kielyr wouldn’t speak.
“Where will you send her?” I asked, nodding toward Harper without
looking at her. I couldn’t wait any longer to find out what would happen to
Harper. I also wanted this conversation to be over. There was nothing they
could say to make this better.
“She’ll be spending time at a psychiatric hospital for children. She’d
been there before when she was ten, but I guess back then it wasn’t enough
time to get her the help she needs,” Harper’s father said.
I should’ve been surprised at the fact that Harper had been in therapy
before, but I wasn’t.
A sob escaped Harper, and it proved my theory right. Harper wasn’t
sorry for what she’s done to Kielyr. She was sorry for herself, for having to
go to that psychiatric hospital.
I glared at her, but she avoided my gaze.
So fucking weak.
“We hope things will get better for you, Harper,” Ellie said.
Mr. Hill nodded. “We hope so too. We would like to make it up to you,
Kielyr. We know no money in the world will erase what happened, but we
would like to offer to pay for any hospital bills, and additionally, we would
like to give you three-thousand dollars. For the damage our daughter has
caused.”
Kielyr tensed again, and I knew she wanted to decline the offer. Her
heart was way too big to accept that kind money.
Mine wasn’t though.
I wanted justice for my girl, and if that came in the form of a large
sum, then so be it.
“Great, thanks. Is that all?” I asked, my annoyance surfacing again.
“Yes, I guess that’s it.” Mr. Hill cleared his throat and turned to
Harper. “You haven’t apologized yet.”
So he was going to force her. Even if she wouldn’t mean it.
What a shit show.
Harper looked at Kielyr, and the first two tears rolled down her cheeks.
I raised a brow at her, patiently waiting for her to speak.
But instead of Harper being the one to make a move, it was Kielyr
who got up from the couch.
We all watched her as she walked across the living room to stand in
front of Harper. I had no idea what she was going to do, but I knew
whatever it was, it would make Kielyr the bigger person in all of this once
more.
Without saying a word, Kielyr leaned in and hugged Harper.
Fuck.
My sweet girl was too damn good for this earth.
“It’s okay,” Kielyr said quietly, and she didn’t add anything more.
We were all stunned by Kielyr’s actions. She was so fucking graceful.
So full of love and understanding.
So much that it sometimes made me mad.
Kielyr shouldn’t have been the one to comfort Harper. It should’ve
been the other way around.
After moving away, Kielyr came back to sit next to me, and she gave
me a soft smile as I reached for her hand.
“Alright,” Dad murmured as he got up from the recliner. “Thank you
for your visit.”
They all got up and said goodbye while I sat there with Kielyr,
focusing only on her.
The tension was gone, and while to her this whole story was over, it
wasn’t for me.
I would continue to be angry at Harper. I would keep on remembering
all the things she’s said and done to my girl. And while Kielyr might’ve
forgiven her, I would never forget.
KIELYR
I didn’t forgive Harper and hugging her felt wrong.
Still, it was the only way I could finally leave it all behind me.
She was upset about going to that hospital, and I truly hoped she’d get
the help she deserved.
After they left, I asked for some time alone in my room to reset and
collect my thoughts, and about an hour later, Rellian came knocking at my
door.
He peeked into the bedroom with that beautiful smile of his.
I sat up on the bed and waited for him to come inside.
“How are you feeling?” he asked as he came to sit next to me.
Before answering him, I put one arm around his neck and leaned in
closer to hug him tight.
My arm wasn’t in a sling anymore, and I also didn’t have a cast on
anymore. I was only wearing a bandage to stabilize my elbow, and I could
move my arm again, but I didn’t do it too often. I didn’t want to mess with
the healing process.
“I’m okay.”
He rubbed my back and kissed the crook of my neck. “It’s over,” he
whispered. “From this moment on, nothing will ever hurt this much ever
again. I promise you that, sweet girl.”
I believed him. I had no doubt about it.
“Lee?”
“Yes, baby?” He caressed my hair and brushed his fingers through it
gently.
“I want to donate the money they offered.”
He leaned back to look at me with a frown creasing between his
brows. “What?”
“I want to donate the money. I don’t want it. It won’t help me forget
what happened, and it won’t fix my elbow. Or the scars on my face.”
He studied me closely as I kept my eyes on his, watching as he
searched for more answers on my face.
“Are you sure? I mean…you wouldn’t have to spend that money right
now.”
“I don’t want it,” I repeated. I was sure of it.
“Okay.” His eyes met mine again, and he lifted both his hands to cup
my cheeks. A smile tugged on his lips. “There’s no fucking way you’re real.
I must’ve made you up or something.”
I laughed softly and shook my head. “I’m very real. And so is our
love.”
He pressed a gentle kiss to my lips before leaning back again to meet
my gaze. His thumbs brushed along my cheeks, my scars tickling under his
touch.
They had healed nicely, and though they were still very visible, they
were slowly turning from a light pink to white.
“I’ll let Dad know about donating the money.”
I nodded and leaned in again to kiss him.
I wanted that money to go to an anti-bullying organization. I just had
to do some research, and I was sure my family would help me find the right
one to donate to.

Chapter 101
KIELYR
January
Rellian was climbing at nationals, and I was more nervous than he
could’ve ever been.
He’s been climbing non-stop since the day he finally got over the fact
that I wouldn’t be able to climb for a while.
I pushed him to keep going, to make it his goal to climb at nationals,
and after coming first in the semi-finals yesterday, he was now on track to
winning yet another gold medal.
And if he did make it, there was a high chance for him to be pre-
selected for the Olympic team.
That would be an insane achievement, considering others would have
to compete once more to get to the Olympics.
Nationals were held at On the Rocks, and with Ellie’s café next door,
there were even more people here than usual. Dad said that the last couple
of times nationals were held there, not as many people came to watch.
“Do you want me to get you a bottle of water?” I asked as I watched
Rellian stretch on the floor.
We were in the back where all the other climbers were warming up as
well.
“I’m good, thank you.” He smiled up at me before getting off the floor
and pulling me to him with both his hands. “Are you gonna watch the
whole competition?”
“I’ll try to. I’m pretty sure Ellie will need my help at the café. But I
will be watching when you compete.”
He was up for all three disciplines. They’d start with speed first, then
bouldering, and lastly, lead climbing.
He was going to crush all three.
I put my arms around his shoulders and leaned into him, feeling all the
muscles he’d gained from training so hard against my body.
His hands came up to my waist, and he pulled me even closer before
his lips covered mine.
I kissed him back, softly at first, but then the kiss turned passionate.
There were people standing around us, but we didn’t care.
“Rellian!”
He broke the kiss with a grunt, and as we looked toward the voice
calling out to him, we saw Danny walking our way.
“What’s up?”
He grinned at us once he stood next to us. “Is this your secret to being
a damn climbing machine? Some kisses from your girl?”
I pressed my lips together to hide a smile.
My kisses definitely did something to Rellian.
“Damn right.”
“Too damn bad I can’t get any of it,” Danny joked. “Hey, Aaron’s
looking for us. Let’s see what he’s got to say before we start.”
“Alright, I’ll be right there.”
Once Danny left to find Aaron, I turned to Rellian again and smiled up
at him to encourage him. “You’ll be amazing. I know you can win today.”
He grinned, his hands cupping my face. “I sure hope so. Danny’s
gonna be a tough competitor. Almost got me pushed off that first spot
yesterday.”
Danny came second yesterday at the semi-finals, and though he was
almost, if not as good as Rellian, I knew Danny had no chance today.
“I’ll give everything I got. With you watching, I know I will give my
all.”
I smiled and pushed myself up onto my tiptoes to kiss his lips once
more before letting go of him. “I love you.”
“Love you too, baby. See you out there.”
I nodded, then I headed back to the front where an audience had built.
Most of them were sitting on the floor in the middle of the gym where they
had a good view of every wall the competitors would be on today. Some
others were standing next to the bar where Dad was working, and I headed
over there to keep him company for a while.
The speed climbing wall was closest to the wall anyway, so I had a
great view of it from here.
“He ready?” Dad asked as I reached him.
“Readier than ever,” I told him confidently.
“Are they starting soon?”
I turned around to see Ellie walk around the bar to get to us. “In a
couple of minutes.”
“Great. I left the girls at the café. They’ll handle the guests while I’m
here.”
Ellie had hired two college students to help out a couple of mornings a
week, and this weekend for nationals, they came to help out as well.
While we waited for the speed competition to start, we helped Dad
behind the bar, but the second the presenter who was also a route setter
walked up to the speed wall, I shifted all my attention to it.
“It’s starting,” I said, nudging Dad and Ellie.
There were other climbers going first. In the first round, Rellian had to
race a guy who came all the way from Los Angeles. He came third
yesterday, and he wasn’t a bad speed climber, but Rellian was still better.
When they both walked up onto the mat, Dad, Ellie, and I clapped and
cheered for Rellian, encouraging and motivating him.
He was focused, so he didn’t look over to us.
I watched as he positioned the contact mat where he needed it to be,
then he turned his back against the wall again, waiting for his competitor to
be ready as well.
After a moment of them both standing there, mentally preparing
themselves, the man holding the microphone told them to get set.
They turned around again, and I watched closely as Rellian reached
for the hold above his head with both hands while placing his right foot on
another hold.
He looked up, taking in the wall, then he lowered his head again. He
took a deep breath, and after the countdown sounded from the speakers,
they were off.
“Come on, boy! You got it champ!” Dad called out, cheering Rellian
on.
I couldn’t say a word. I just watched as they both flew up that wall. It
was a close call, but when the time at the very top turned green on Rellian’s
side, I jumped up and down, cheering.
“He did it!” Ellie said proudly, and I hugged her before I clapped
again, smiling brightly while Rellian was slowly being lowered again.
He threw a fist in the air, grinning down at us.
He made it to the second round, and if he continued like that, he would
easily take first place in speed.
***
We weren’t surprised one bit when Rellian’s name was called to get
onto the podium, securing yet another medal for first place.
He came first in all three disciplines. He had given his all, and though
he was exhausted, I knew we’d be celebrating into the night.
Everyone cheered and applauded the three winners. Danny got third
place, and I knew Aaron was so proud of them.
Aaron was walking up to the podium with a microphone in his hand,
and while I didn’t want to get my hopes up, I had a feeling of knowing what
he was about to say.
I reached for Ellie’s hand while Dad gripped my shoulders, squeezing
them. He definitely knew what was about to happen.
“Hey everyone,” Aaron said into the mic, and the applause died down.
“I’m Aaron. I’m a coach here at On the Rocks.”
The crowd cheered again, some of them knowing Aaron.
“I gotta say, I’ve not seen so many great climbers in one place in a
long time. I’m fascinated at how hard everyone’s been working to compete
here this weekend. It’s amazing to see so many young people achieving so
many great things.” He turned to face all the climbers that had competed.
“You guys are inspiring. I’ve had so many little kids come up to me, telling
me they want to start climbing too. And the ones that are already climbing
told me how much of an inspiration you guys are to them. I’m proud of
each and every one of you. You’re gonna do great things.” Another wave of
cheering occurred, and once it died down again, Aaron lifted the mic to his
lips once more. “Before I leave you guys to celebrate and enjoy the rest of
the evening, I wanted to congratulate two of the guys who have been on my
team for years. Danny, Rellian, please come join me over here.”
They got down from the podium and headed over to Aaron, shaking
his hand and hugging him.
“You’re both worked incredibly hard all your lives. You’ve been on
this team since you were just this big, and now you’re towering over me
like giants. Can’t believe I am about to say this…”
“Ohmygod,” Ellie whispered, squeezing my hand tighter.
“Danny, Rellian…congrats! You’ve both been pre-selected to be on
the Olympic team!”
I squealed, and a mix of shouting and cheering erupted in the gym.
“He did it!” I couldn’t hold in my happiness, and tears streamed down
my face. “Dad, he did it!”
“Hell yeah! That’s my boy!”
We hugged while Rellian and Danny were being celebrated, then we
watched him walk through the crowd to get to us, and we pulled him into a
big group hug.
“I’m so proud of you, Rellian,” Ellie told him.
“I knew it,” Dad added as he ruffled Rellian’s hair.
He laughed, thanking them, then he wrapped his arms around me and
kissed the top of my head. “I can’t believe it,” he whispered.
I put my arms around his waist, hugging him tight. “You deserve it so
much, Lee. I’m so proud of you.”
Dad and Ellie moved away, and when I looked up at him with a bright
smile, he leaned in to kiss the tip of my nose. “I couldn’t have done it with
your support, Kielyr. Thank you for being by my side through all this.”
There was no need for him to thank me. It was all him.
“Congratulations, Lee,” I whispered as he leaned his forehead to mine.
We’ve been through so much, but there was nothing we couldn’t
conquer together.

EPILOGUE
RELLIAN
February 13
I told Kielyr that I had a surprise for her seventeenth birthday.
She didn’t ask for anything. She didn’t want a present. All she wanted
was to spend the day with me, Dad, and Ellie, and later with our friends.
But I had to buy her a present. It was something small, but she’d like
it.
Though, the surprise I told her about wasn’t materialistic.
She was still sleeping in the same position she had fallen asleep last
night, with her body pressed against me, and her face buried deep in the
crook of my neck.
I rubbed her back gently, trying my best not to wake her, and after I
got a bit of distance between us, I pushed myself up to lean over her.
I started placing kisses on her face, trailing them from her forehead
down to her cheek and over her chin, then back up along her scar.
It had faded quite a bit the past couple of months, but it was still very
visible. Especially when she blushed. Then the whiteness of the scar
contrasted the redness of her skin.
A soft sound escaped her which made my cock twitch, and I moved
between her legs, settling my hips against hers.
My lips were on her neck now, nibbling and licking her soft skin while
I moved my left hand under her shirt.
She moved again beneath me, adjusting her body underneath mine,
and she unintentionally lifted her hips, pressing her pussy against my hard-
on.
“Fuck,” I muttered against her skin, sucking on it harder now.
She was still asleep, but I knew she’d wake up any moment.
I moved my hand further up and cupped one of her tits, squeezing it
between my fingers and pinching her nipple, feeling it harden under my
touch.
I wanted to get her naked, but that would be difficult with her still
sleeping.
Lifting my head, I pushed up her shirt to expose her tits, and I admired
them before cupping them both.
I pulled one nipple into my mouth and played with it, teased it with
my tongue by flicking at it, then I did the same to the other one.
I was enjoying every second of it.
When she arched her back, I look up at her to see if she was awake.
Her eyes were still closed, but the smile on her face told me that she
was aware of what was happening.
I grinned, pulling her nipple between my teeth again before
murmuring, “Happy birthday, sweet girl.”
“Hmm, thank you.” Her smile grew and her hands came up to push
into my hair. “Good morning, Lee.”
“Morning, baby.”
“Is this my surprise?” she asked in that sexy, sleepy voice of hers.
“Sure is.” I moved up but kept my hands on her tits, squeezing them
while I pressed my body against hers. I kissed her jaw, then her lips, kissing
her passionately.
She squirmed underneath me as her lips moved with mine, and when I
broke the kiss, she smiled at me so damn sweetly that I melted away.
“I love waking up like this. You should do it more often.”
I chuckled. “Noted. How are you feeling?”
“Like a dancing queen. Young and sweet.”
I laughed out loud. “Like the ABBA song?”
“Yes.” She laughed softly. “I can’t wait to dance to that song tonight
with all our friends.”
And I couldn’t wait for her to have the best birthday ever. It was the
first we’d spend together.
I had turned eighteen on the fourth if this month, and it was the best
feeling having her right there with me to celebrate.
“You’ll have the best time ever,” I promised her.
I needed to kiss her again, and I needed to be inside of her. So I pushed
myself back up and moved further down to pull her panties off her hips.
“I know it’s my birthday and you’d do anything to make me feel good,
but can we skip foreplay this morning?”
I smirked at her, surprised at her request. “You sure?”
“Yes. I need you inside me.”
Once her panties were gone, I reached between her legs and ran my
fingers through her slit, feeling her wetness on my skin. “Shit,” I said,
chuckling. “You’re so fucking wet for me already.”
She nodded, giving me a knowing look. “Of course.”
I kept sliding my fingers through her folds, and before getting rid of
my shorts, I leaned in once more to kiss her again.
I pushed my tongue into her mouth to curl it around hers, needing to
taste her, then I pulled back and moved my hand from her pussy, lifting my
fingers to my lips.
“So damn sweet,” I murmured as her juices covered my tastebuds.
She watched as I moved from between her legs to get up from the bed
to take off my shorts, and once they were off, I grabbed a condom from my
nightstand.
Kielyr wasn’t on the pill. She didn’t want to, and I wasn’t going to
make her.
I knew how hard the pill affected some women, and condoms didn’t
bother either of us.
She kept her eyes on my cock as I pulled the condom over my
hardness, and once it was on, I got back onto the bed and settled between
her legs.
“I wanna take you from behind, but I need to fuck you while looking
into your eyes first.”
My words made her squirm again, and I couldn’t help but grin at how
sweet her reaction was.
“Okay.”
I kissed her deeply and didn’t hesitate to push into her.
My dick slid right inside her wet pussy, and her walls squeezed me
tightly as my tip touched her deepest spot.
She cried out and tilted her head to the side, arching her back some
more.
I reached for her neck, wrapping my fingers around it to make her look
at me again. “Keep your eyes on mine, baby. I wanna watch your beautiful
face while I fuck you.”
I slowly pulled back before thrusting into her again, and once I found
my rhythm, I kept it steady, fucking her hard but slowly.
I needed this to last long, and if I gave it my all already, I would be
done sooner than I wanted to.
She was just too damn perfect. Just thinking of her could bring me to a
climax.
She was on my mind every second of every day, and even when I
thought about my future, her name was written all over it.
We were going to graduate this summer, and afterward, I would train
to become an even better climber. To be my all-time best for when I would
compete at the Olympics.
I decided against college. I was going to be an athlete. I already had
people interested in sponsoring me.
Kielyr wasn’t sure about college yet. She had gotten into all three
colleges she applied to, but her dream was to stay here in North Kingstown
and work at On the Rocks and the café with Dad and Ellie.
I liked the idea of her staying here, watching every training session I’d
have.
She could come with me to any competition, travel around the world
with me, and be there when I competed at the Olympics.
Whatever she decided on doing, I knew I wouldn’t lose her.
She was the love of my life, the one who made me the happiest, and I
liked to confidently think the same for her about me.
I was the luckiest to be loved by such a beautiful soul. One that put
everyone first and wanted every person around her to be happy and loved.
She was the most selfless person ever, but I made sure to give back
everything she gave to others.
“Thank you for loving me, Lee,” she breathed against my lips as my
thrusts got harder.
“Don’t ever thank me for that, baby. You deserve the fucking world. I
love you, sweet girl, and I will love you until infinity runs out.”
