In the 10th of September 1909, Sigmund Freud received an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LL.D.)
Degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. G. Stanley Hall, the American
psychologist and founder of the psychology department at Clark University, invited Freud to
give a series of lectures on psychoanalysis.
This event is significant because it marked Freud's first and only visit to the United States.
During his visit, Freud delivered a series of lectures on psychoanalysis, which introduced many
Americans to his ideas for the first time.
