When the heavens are darkened by a storm of crossbow bolts, the air thick with the screams of the dying,
the earth starts to thunder as the Dark Elf chariots rush towards the enemy. The enemy has but moments to turn and
flee with their dying prayer on their lips as the chariots crush them. Blood-mad Cold Ones that tear through the
ranks, snatching up panicked enemies in their jaws and tossing them about like broken toys drag the chariot.
Meanwhile the iron-shod black oak chariot rolling over the dying, it's chipped wicked spinning scythes slicing, and
its charioteer, the harbinger of this slaughter, laughing madly as he lashes with his whip leading his chariot to greater
depths of chaos and mayhem.

City Guard
The Dark Elves live in a heightened sense of hatred and fear, afraid of not only the things outside the city
walls, but their enemies within. The Dark Elf cities are dangerous places with rival noble families butchering each
other in the streets, the unwary fall victim to murder and other violent crimes, while outside runaway slaves and the
servants of the Chaos gods greedily eye the cities and plotting their destruction.
To defend against the mayhem inside and beyond the city walls, the Dark Lord employs numerous guards
to defend the city. These troops are known as the City Guard, and are the specially trained forces of the Dark
Lords. These men are better trained and organized than the soldiers employed and raised by the individual noble
families. All are trained extensively in the use of spear and crossbow to defend the city walls. Few foes have ever
survived the withering crossbow fire of the city walls, and those emerging from the deadly rain are kept at a distance
by the skillful use of a spear. When the armies of the Dark Lord go to war, often the core of the army is composed
of these versatile troops, but more often than not, these troops spend ever moment enduring the deadly tide of
violence that form the undercurrent of Dark Elf society.

Doomdrake
Nearly all the sons of nobles are sent to receive their military training through the Doomdrakes. The
Doomdrakes are the elite heavy cavalry of the Dark Elves, heavily armed and armored, riding the fearful Cold Ones.
When the sons of the nobles are inducted into the Doomdrakes, they are often haughty and proud, and find
themselves assigned to the same unit as their sworn enemies. It is to be expected that the rivalries so common flare
out into murderous treachery, but nothing could be further from the truth. Upon induction, the vain nobles are
humiliated, tormented, and beaten by their officers and the Helldrakes. The recruits are put through hell, their
training a crucible to boil their rivalry out of them and turn them into the most cruel and bitter of Dark Elf warriors.
They set aside their petty issues, too concerned with their own survival.
By the time the Doomdrakes have finished their training and first enter battle, they recognize that they are,
for a time, all united by the trial, and have a camaraderie instilled by their ordeal and espirit de corps, knowing that
they are among the elite. They look forward to battle, and even more to becoming Helldrakes, so that they too can
torment the pretentious young nobles so full of hubris and so empty of accomplishment or merit. After time, many
leave and return to their families, and easily return to their machiavellian court life, and become the most
disciplined, patient, and ruthless of adversaries. It is common belief that for a noble to survive, he must attain the
lessons that only the Doomdrakes and the Helldrakes can teach.

Doomsteed Officer*
The Doomsteed Officer is a rugged officer, and one who must be incredibly self-reliant and disciplined.
The Doomsteed Officer is often alone out on patrol with his troop, far from the assistance of others. Often danger
comes in the form of an ambush by Chaos or escaped slaves, but most often from his own soldiers. An unpopular
Officer is likely to be the only casualty in a "ambush", or suffer a fatal fall from an "accident" at the edge of a cliff,
or simply fall victim to a "stray" crossbow bolt. As such, the Doomsteed Officer must either earn the respect of his
troopers, or better yet, earn the fear of his troopers.

Helldrake*
Many Doomdrakes fail to survive the training and later the battles. Those that do survive often go on to
become Helldrakes, the best of the Dark Elf army. They are masters of their steeds and combat. Before every
battle they not only offer to Khaine the souls of those that they kill, but they offer their own souls to Khaine. They
hold symbolic funerals for themselves, considering themselves already dead. This makes them fearless in combat,
and a handful of Helldrakes will charge the largest and the most powerful of their opponents. The frenzied Cold
Ones tear into the flesh of their opponents as the Helldrake cuts a bloody swath though the enemy singing a fierce
funereal dirge for themselves! Few can stand the onslaught of these terrifying warriors. After the battle those that
survive, praise Khaine, perform a "ritual of resurrection" on themselves, drinking the blood of the enemies, and pray
that they find death in the next battle! After the ritual they may return to society, but still consider themselves the
living dead.

Helldrake Officer*
The Helldrake Officer is the cruel leader of a group of Helldrakes. Only the most devout and bloodthirsty
of Helldrakes ever attain this position. They are afforded a great degree of fear and respect, and mete out severe
punishment to any disobeying their orders. They are often most cruel to the Doom Riders whom they torment in
the same fashion that they had been when they were young Doomriders themselves.

Shadow
Dark Elf Shadows are skilled warriors, who rather than fighting in ranks and formations, strike from
shadows and the under dark eaves of trees. A High Elf patrol investigating a burned-out farmhouse may suddenly
be leaped soundlessly upon from the rafters by Shadows. High Elf patrols and caravans, are often harried by units
of Shadows, who strike without warning from ambush. Less skilled than Dark Elf Scouts, they are more numerous
and fulfill more substantial battle roles than merely scouts, but rather as stealthy assault troops.

Whelp Master*
Whelp Masters are essential for maintaining the Dark Elven warpacks. Whelp Masters not only train their
beasts, but work closely with Dark Elf Scouts in trapping them. Many Whelp Masters seek the finest animals to do
their training on and seek control over the entire process including the selection. This is quite dangerous, but the
Whelp Masters who survive become quite skilled and wealthy trapping and training the monstrous creatures.

for foul rituals and sacrifices...
16-25 Entertainer- Dark Elves have not lost all their art, is has merely become shaped into nightmare images of
themselves. The "art" that these Entertainers create would put followers of Slaanesh to shame...A
sickening blend of debauchery, depravity, and insanity.
26-35 Footpad- They tend to feed like parasites off those in the same social strata. To attack a social better,
would be disastrous...
36-45 Jailer- a prolific profession. All the prisoners captured in wars are brought back where they are kept for
heinous rituals. In the towers of Har Ganeth, Jailers are especially common.
46-55 Pedlar- The wretched poor that try to sell what scraps they can scavenge

Ruin Raider
The Ruin Raider is a fairly unique career amongst the Dark Elves. When the Dark Elves had to flee
Ulthuan, they left behind many artifacts buried with their elders, artifacts of power that are also family heirlooms
and proof of their legitimacy. Dark Elves often send Ruin Raiders over to break into these forgotten family graves.
In other places, Dark Elf sorcerers send Ruin Raiders into ruins where great artifacts are believed to lie. Many of
these sites are found in Naggarond, amongst the pre-Elven ruins that only the trained eye can discover. Ruin
Raiders are experts at getting into the tightest of places and recovering the buried artifacts. They wear very little
clothing, and travel very light, as they are often required to squeeze through the smallest of openings. Ruin Raiders
always work in groups of two to four in case assistance is necessary.

Minister Implimentus
Minister Implimentus*
The officials responsible for the administering and interpreting the Witch King's laws are the Ministerum
Implimentae. The law of the Witch King has been passed on by formal and informal edicts, proclamations,
resolutions, and memorandum for the last five thousand years (give or take a few hundred) and this has led to a
incomprehensible morass of contradictory and outdated arbitrary laws administered at whim by the Witch King.
The Minister Implimentae dive into this task of interpretation and administration with relish. They do not pretend
to learn it all, they simply focus on their preferred laws that will allow them to mete out the greatest degree of pain
and agony in the most horrible of fashions. A law can be found to support or condemn any action, and anyone
found before a Minister Implimentus is likely going to experience an extended period of excruciating pain and
torture, followed by an even longer and more painful demise.
The Minister Implimentae routinely hands out the most extreme judgements on the poor for the most
innocent of crimes. The poor are not even allowed a trial, their often involuntary appearance before the Minister
Implimentus is admissible proof of guilt. Only the Nobles are allowed a trial, and all too often discrete payments
are made to the Minister and any evidence of wrongdoing discarded and destroyed.
The Minister Implimentus, after sentencing the unfortunate, often take responsibility for torture, and
admissions of innocence are altered by "trial of duress", where the accused is subjected to weeks of torture until they
are dead, or admit guilt they admit their guilt and then often tortured again until dead!
