ESSAY TEST 4 – MOCK - LÍVIA

How to increase participation in sports

It is often said that sport is something that every individual being should be
practising in order to have healthy bodies and also to keep their minds relaxed
and sane. Doctors and specialists claim that there is a lack of interest from the
great majority of the society in this subject. Not only can governments do
something to change this scenario but also they can do (execute) many actions
to increase the number of people who do sports.

The first of these actions is launching a public service advertising campaign

about the importance of sports and the benefits of it they bring about. Also,
those campaigns would make people aware of the facilities that are available for
free in their towns or neighbourhoods. The campaigns could be supported by
sports brands and they would almost certainly lead to greater higher levels of
awareness of the advantages of practising physical exercises.

A second tactic could be the use of famous (engagement of renowned)

sportspeople to help on the approach of normal members of society connect
with the campaings mentioned on the second paragraph. People usually
connect bond with celebrities and very often try to imitate and to behave in a
similar way of to them. Those famous athletes would appear telling present
simple stories on how they have started their careers and why they would never
give up training.

In my view, advertising would make a lot of difference in the increase increasing

the number of people interested in (keen on) doing sports. If they became
involved and aware of what they can could do for free, not only would they start
practising more but also they would also bring more and more (encourage a
greater amount of) people to take part of in their new healthy lifestyle.

PART 2 – PROPOSAL (3)

Visitors to our English school

Introduction

The principal aims of this proposal are to suggest activities and to arrange a
schedule to receive English-speaking visitors on at our school next month. The
final section makes recommendations as to on how the day will be organized.

Current situation

I conducted interviews among the students and not only have did they
answered that they would enjoy having contact with foreigners but also they
also replied reported that they will learn from this experience and help the
administrators to organize the agenda of the meeting.

Factors that are important for the organization of the meeting

As Peruíbe, where our school is located in, is a costal town, it is interesting to

show some of the beauties of the place and to take them to eat in one of our
local-food restaurants. The time-table can be organized with the visiting in the
morning period and lectures and meetings in the afternoon in order to have all
the activities happening in the same day.

Recommendations

Clearly (Ideally), more than one day in our place would be better
(advisable/preferable). Considering that they will not be available to spend more
time here, I would make the folllowing recommendations:

*Sightseeing from 8 a.m to 12 o´clock in one of our double-decker buses with

the participation of advanced-level students and members of the staff.

* 12 o´clock - a stop (break) for lunch at the 'Sea Capitain restaurant' to try
(taste) the delicious seafood that is traditional in our town.

* 1p.m - a lecture of presentation to the other students.

* From 2 p.m to 6:30 p.m - all the interviews and activities involving Brazilian
students and British visitors.

* 7 p.m - dinner at a barbecue restaurant with all the students of the school and
the group of visitors.

This last recommendation will be important for the exchange programme

especially to help on the appoach between students and visitors.
