1. Define conflict.
Answer:
Conflict is when two people or groups disagree, and the disagreement
causes friction.

2. Can conflict in an organization be avoided? How?

Answer:
Yes, conflict in an organization can be avoided through good
communication, helping and understanding one another and there is a
freedom of expression to everyone but not to the extent that it could harm
the others.

3. Is conflict good or bad in an organization?

Answer:
A conflict could be good or could be bad in an organization. Good in the
sense that it encourages open – mindedness and can develop the unity of
the people. It helps them become stronger and can open – up new
possibilities and help generate new ideas that might otherwise have not
been considered. Bad in the sense that it could break the relationship of
the members within the organization. It could lead to destruction to each
of them.

4. In your experience, cite three (3) causes of conflict in your school. Explain
each.
Answer:
(1) Promotion of teachers
Promotion of teachers causes conflict in our school. There are cases that
some of the personnel want to be promoted but they do not do their
duties and responsibilities as what the school head expected them to be
doing.
(2) Contribution
We cannot deny the fact that money is one of the causes of conflict just
like in our school. There are cases that our school were visited by some
officials from the division and it is expected to accommodate them.
Sometimes, there is no MOOE yet and we need to prepare for the food
and other expenses. Teachers have to contribute but it could be
refunded once MOOE is already available. There are teachers who do
not want to contribute because of many reasons and conflict occurs.
(3) Workload
Workload also causes conflicts in our school. We have 10 teachers in the
secondary department and less than 100 learners from Grade 7 to 10. It
is expected that there are teachers who only have 3 workload and some
have 4 workloads. Of course, if you have fewer workloads than the
other, you will have additional workload from ancillary assignment.
Some of them don’t want to have those ancillary assignment which is
also unfair to others. Thus conflict occurs.

5. Define collaboration.
Answer:
Collaboration is the act of working together with other people or
organizations to create or achieve something.
