Control refers to the extent of how the

person perceives authority over an adverse


event, and his response and reaction to it.
On the other hand, Origin and Ownership
relates to the person putting rightful and
appropriate blame to oneself for the
occurrence of adversity that leads to
remorse, which is a powerful motivator if
dealt properly. Then, Reach is the person’s
ability to limit the reach of their problem to
the current adversity in making it more
manageable. Lastly, Endurance is the ability
to rightly perceive that the adversities in life
are either temporary or permanent (Stoltz,
1997).
