I: Learnings (Takeaways from the Reading/s and Sharing/Homily)

The Gospel reading last Sunday was John 10:1-10 led by Rev. Father Victor M. Abijay. He
talked about a good shepherd. He refers that human beings are gatekeepers that follow Jesus
Christ. However, there are two (2) types of a good shepherd or gatekeeper. First, the one
who purely follows the Lord and knows exactly what to do to serve; and the second is the
one who does not know what to do and only does exactly what says to him or her.

II. Personal Reflections, Realizations, and Resolutions

In my twenty-one years of existence in this world, I already experienced being both- two
types of a good shepherd.

There are times that I know exactly what I do confidently without being taught because I
know deep in my heart what I can do. For example, being an on-the-spot prayer leader during
family gatherings or occasions. However, there are also times when I just do what exactly
says to me because I am not capable enough to stand on my own. For example, during the
first week of my on-the-job training, the personnels at the Office of the Vice Mayor taught me
how their Office works- drafting resolutions, committee meetings, researching, etc.

In conclusion, regardless of who I am between the two types of a good shepherd, the main
point is I am learning along the way, either through myself or either people with the guidance
of the Lord.
