Piece #1 Claude Debussy - Prelude to the
Afternoon of a Faun
Rhythm From what I have observed from
this music piece, its pattern is after
a short break (silence), gets livelier
as if it adds an instrument over
time. Which makes the music less
gloomy or boring.
Melody All of tones of this musical piece
just matches with each other. This
piece has a lot of emotions to me
because of the tones.
Harmony The sound of the violin, piano,
flute, and some kind of sound of
the Greek lyre just sound so good.
They all combine together and
produce an angelic piece which is
just so addicting to listen to.
Dynamic In the beginning, the volume of
s the music is low which made me
confused if the video is playing or
not that is why I had to wear
earphones. But as the music goes
on, it gets livelier. This musical
piece gives me a lot of emotions,
but the main feeling that it gave
me was sadness during the spring
season. It feels magical as well,
living in a cottage with full of
flowers everywhere.
Piece #2 Composer: Igor Stravinsky – The Rite
of Spring
Rhythm It is a bit hard to understand the
flow of this piece because it is
somehow long. But the only thing
that I noticed about its patterns are
slow-silent, loud-intense, slow-
silent, then again loud-intense. In
the beginning, it is still slow and
silent, then it became loud and
intense. Later on, it will become
slow and silent again. I think that is
its pattern.
Melody The formation of grouped notes is
excellent. I love how organized it is,
that in the beginning, it starts with
a slow and low-volume tone, then
as it processes, it gets more and
more intense. This specific kind of
music is usually used in movies.
Harmony For me, the sound of flute and
trumpet together does not well
combine through my ears. It just
sounds weird.
Dynamics The music in the first part is slow
and kind of quiet, which give some
calm or sad vibes. But as the music
goes by, it gets louder and louder
which changes the vibe into
dramatic or intense.
