2.5 Repeated Addition (96)


Suggested Activities
1. Pupils carry out simulation activity related to repeated addition.
2. Get three pupils and provide two counters to each of them.
3. Pupils write number sentence of repeated addition.
4. Pupils write number sentence from the picture provided, with teacher’s
guidance.
5. Repeat Activity 4 for repeated addition in fives, tens, and fours.
6. Divide pupils into 4 groups and provide counters to each group.
7. Teacher writes the number sentence on the whiteboard. Example, 5 + 5+ 5=
then each group is given time to discuss.
8. By using the counters, each group need to arrange the counter according to
the number sentence and find the answer.
9. The group with the correct answer will get 1 mark for the question.
10. Repeat step 7 to 9 with different number sentence.
2.6 Repeated Subtraction (98)
Suggested Activities
1. Pupils carry out simulation activity on repeated subtraction using counters.
2. Distribute number line cards (up to 20) with question cards.
3. In group, pupils solve the problem and write the answers.
4. Conduct discussion.
5. In the same group, pupils complete the number sentence based on the given
pictures. For example:
