 Descriptive text
Descriptive text is a text that describes a particular
object in detail. In Indonesian, descriptive text is a
text that describes a particular object in detail. So,
as mentioned earlier, in this text, you will describe
objects clearly. It can be size, color, shape, smell,
and so on.
Usually descriptive text is characterized by the use
of the easy tense and focuses on one specific
object. The object is then discussed again in more
detail in the descriptive text

Descriptive Text has its own rules regarding its
structure.
There are two generic structures of descriptive
writing: identification and description.
Identification is to introduce the person, place and
the object while the description gives the detail of
the person, place, and the object described
Structure of descriptive text
1. Identification
This section, located in the first
paragraph, aims to identify an
object that you want to
describe. Identification serves to
introduce to the reader about
the object that we will explain,
before we tell about the object
in more detail in the next
paragraph
2. Description
This section, located in the
second paragraph and so on,
contains the inherent
characteristics of something
that you have introduced to the
reader in the first paragraph.
Language feature
The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the
noun, for example: a beautiful beach, a handsome
man, the famous place in Jepara, etc. – The use of
simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is
simple present because it tells the fact of the object
described.
 EXAMPLE
He was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro,
Kentucky, U.S. He started his career on movie in
1984. His first movie is A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Before he became a famous actor, Depp was a
musician. The first genre he played was rock
music. He is good in playing guitar and writing
songs. A long his life, he wrote so many songs for
bands, solo vocalist and for Sweeney Todd movie
(description).
