1. Grammarly
It can be used in both Microsoft Word and Outlook to catch common grammar errors and
get suggestions for stronger vocabulary substitutions. The free version provides critical
grammar and spelling checks, while Grammarly Premium- $30 a month or $140 a year—
provides more in-depth checks and suggestions, native desktop apps, Office integration, and

2. Hemingway Editor
The free app helps writing by highlighting potential edits. Different colors help you spot
sentences that are too long or too dense, complex words, adverbs that can be eliminated,
and places where you’re incorrectly using passive voice. The web version is free, with

This app helps to organize content and makes the outlining process clean, simple, and easy
to manipulate.

Twords is a tracker. You input how many words you’d like to write each day, and then Twords
will nudge you until you get it done. It helps create a sense of accountability.
8. Ginger
This app automatically checks and corrects poor grammar, bad punctuation, misspellings,
and misused words. It also has a sentence rephraser which helps you improve your writing
voice.

Draft is an online writing app that combines collaboration and editing features. Its version
control features are helpful for keeping track of your changes, and it can work with other

1. Transcript evaluation
When you graduate from university, pay for a transcript evaluation service like the World
Educational Service (WES). The WES International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP) is a
service provided by WES where an applicant's verified transcripts and evaluation report are
