Eligibility
To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:
• Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
• Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended.
• Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto
a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This is
typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK.
• Have at least two years of work experience.
• Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from
one of these choices by 16 July 2020.

2 The Gates Cambridge Scholarship Programme


The scholarship was established in October 2000 by a donation of US$210m from the Bill and Melinda
Gates Foundation to the University of Cambridge; this is the largest ever single donation to a UK
university. For 2020 entry, Gates Cambridge will offer 80 full-cost scholarships to outstanding
applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject
available at the University of Cambridge.

3 Excellence Fellowships for Master's Study in Switzerland


EPFL offers a limited number of fellowships at master’s level to students with outstanding academic
records. Anyone applying to an EPFL master’s program is eligible. The selection of candidates and the
granting of the fellowships is done based on the evaluation of the academic records of the candidates.
Eligibility
• Anyone applying to an EPFL master’s program is eligible. The EPFL grants a limited number of
fellowships to the most deserving candidates based solely on their academic records.

4 The Karolinska Institutet Global Master's Scholarships


Karolinska Institutet offers a handful of tuition fee scholarships to excellent students who have been
admitted to one of our Global Master’s Programmes starting each Autumn semester. The amount of
scholarships varies from year to year, but there are maximum 10 scholarships per year, spread to all
the Global Master’s Programmes. The competition is fierce with approximately 1500 international
students applying for the scholarship annually.

• To be eligible for the KI Global Master’s Scholarship you must:
• have applied to one of Karolinska Institutet's Global Master's Programmes starting 2019
• be a tuition fee paying student (from outside the EU/EEA)
• have paid the application fee

5 Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP)

6 Chancellor's International Scholarship to study at Warwick Doctoral College


For 2020/21 entry there will be 30 Chancellor's International Scholarships available to be awarded to
the most outstanding international PhD applicants. Awards made for entry in Autumn 2020 will
include both of the following:
• The full payment of overseas tuition fees (worth up to £24,010)
• A maintenance stipend in line with UKRI rates (provisional £15,239 for full time award holders in
2020/21, expected to be confirmed February 2020)
• Length of funding: 3.5 years, unless you are already in your first year of study when you apply then
the length of funding will be reduced accordingly.

• Applicants for a Chancellor's International Scholarship must also be applying for a PhD at the
University of Warwick;
• Students currently enrolled on a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University of Warwick may apply in their
first year of registration only;
• Applicants must expect to be 'overseas' students for fees purposes, but there is no other nationality
criteria;
• Applicants may be from any discipline at Warwick.

7 University of Oulu International Scholarships


The University of Oulu International Scholarship Scheme provides scholarships to academically
talented international students studying for a Master’s degree in the University of Oulu two-year
International Master’s programmes or five -year Intercultural Teacher Education programme. The
scholarships will be granted in the form of a tuition fee waiver covering 50% or 75% of the full tuition
fee. Applicants can apply for the tuition scholarship as part of the admissions process. University of
Oulu Scholarships do not cover living costs.
Eligibility
• Applicants are eligible to apply for a University of Oulu Scholarship, if they meet the admissions
criteria and are liable to pay the tuition fee. University of Oulu Scholarship can be received only

once. The scholarship application will be processed in the selection procedure only if the applicant
meets the admissions criteria.
• There is no separate application system for the International Scholarship. Applications for the
International Scholarship are submitted together with the application for the preferred study option

obtaining an International Scholarship will be notified at the same time as their offer of admission

8 Global Minds Doctoral Scholarships Program


As one of its contributions to development cooperation, every academic year KU Leuven selects
exceptional students from developing countries as scholarship candidates to obtain their PhD from the
largest university of Belgium. The Global Minds Programme is managed by IRO, the university's
Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation.
The aim is to give students the opportunity to conduct PhD research in a ‘sandwich’ system, which
means that maximum 50% of the research takes place at KU Leuven and 50% at the home institution
of the scholar, supported by a local co-promoter. The PhD degree is awarded by KU Leuven.

• The scholarships are offered to excellent proposals that deal with a development-relevant research
topic, preferably linked to the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Having obtained their doctoral degree from KU Leuven, the PhD holders are expected to utilise their

9 Rotary International's Fully Funded Peace Fellowships


Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully-funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the
world to study at one of our peace centers. Through academic training, practice, and global
networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and
development professionals or practitioners to become experienced and effective catalysts for peace.
The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship
and field-study expenses.

11 Siemens China Scholarship to study at Tsinghua University


The Siemens China Scholarship at Tsinghua University is a full scholarship offered by Siemens Ltd.,
China to support outstanding international students to pursue Ph.D. degrees in Tsinghua University.
The Scholarship recipients will cooperate with Siemens in 8 fields, such as Artificial Intelligence, Future

12 Fulbright Foreign Student Program (Scholarships to study in the United States)


The Fulbright Foreign Student Program (formerly Fulbright JSD) is a non-degree program funded by
the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. and administered by the Department of State’s
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York.
The program is designed primarily to strengthen the capacities of African universities through higher
degree training and to develop the potential of their academic staff. It is targeted at young and
exceptionally promising faculty members who wish to conduct their doctoral research in the United
States. Applicants must be at least two years into their doctoral program in any discipline at a Nigerian
university or research institute at the time of application.
Eligibility
• Applicants must be citizens or nationals of Nigeria, or permanent residents holding a valid passport
issued by the Nigerian government.
• Applicants must be doctoral students and have the endorsement of their home institution.
• Applicants must be at least two years into their doctoral program in any discipline.
• Applicants must have an outstanding academic record and a high level of English proficiency.
• Applicants must meet a minimum score of 100 on the internet-based TOEFL test.
• The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is Typically Open to applicants in all disciplines. However,
proposals for clinical medical research involving patient contact cannot be approved under the
Fulbright Program.
• Applicants must have high motivation and a serious commitment to completing the program as
scheduled and to returning home.

The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) is a nongovernmental organization whose fund is solely
based on donations from many Japanese people who have responded with goodwill to Dr. Shigeyoshi

14 IOE-ISH Centenary Taught Master's Scholarships


We are delighted to be partners with International Students House (ISH) in these awards: the UCL
Institute of Education (IOE) - International Students House Centenary Scholarship, and the Mary
Trevelyan Centenary Scholarship (in honour of the founder of ISH).
ISH provides accommodation for a year, while the IOE covers tuition fees. Please note that these
scholarships do not cover subsistence in London, travel or any other expenses. The scholarships are
tenable for one academic year, subject to satisfactory progress.

15 WMG Excellence Scholarships
WMG scholarships are merit-based awards, available on a competitive basis. Applications will be
judged on past academic achievement, professional experience, reasons for study, and your vision for
the future. WMG Excellence Scholarships are awarded on a % discount of the tuition fees, with awards
ranging from 10% to 50% tuition fee discount.
Eligibility
• Applicants must hold an offer to study on a WMG full-time MSc course starting October 2020.
• Applicants should have an excellent academic track-record and/or strong professional profile in
order to qualify.
• For conditional offer-holders, scholarship awards will also be conditional on achieving the awardee's
final predicted grade.
• WMG Excellence Scholarships are for self-funded students only. NB: students with partial bursaries
on scholarship-loan schemes or partially funded by an external organisation may also be considered.

16 Australia Awards John Allwright Fellowship


Applications are welcome from participants in both bilateral and multilateral (IARC) project. Applicants
must be working with an ACIAR project in a current partner developing country. Applicants must be
citizens of the country in which they are working.
Eligibility
To be eligible for selection, a candidate must:
• at the time of applying, hold qualifications that would be assessed to be equivalent to at least an
Australian bachelor’s degree in a discipline that is relevant to the proposed area of postgraduate
study;
• be a scientist or economist from the developing country partner, who is actively involved in a
collaborative research project supported by ACIAR at the time of application (in some cases, ACIAR
will consider supporting researchers from “advanced pipeline” projects, i.e. in cases where a full

18 Professor de Winter Scholarship at the University of Twente


Professor de Winter and Mrs. de Winter were highly involved in UT programmes and with ‘their’
students. Their heirs continue to be involved in their honour by awarding a scholarship of € 7,500 to

19 University of Twente Scholarship (UTS)


The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from both EU/EEA as
well as non-EU/EEA countries, applying for a graduate programme (MSc) at the University of Twente.
Exclusive opportunity to take part in an intake for one of the three honours programmes: Research
honours, Design honours, or Change leaders.
Eligibility
• Application for an UT scholarship is a procedure separate from the application for course entry at
the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, you will need to gain an admission letter first.
• You have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes starting in
the academic year 2020/2021 (September). Please note: After completion of your application, it
may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results.

20 Dalarna University Partial Masters Scholarships


Every year, Dalarna University awards partial scholarships to a number of its new international, fee-
paying Master's students who have proven themselves to be outstanding in their educational
endeavours.

22 African Human Rights Scholarships


The University of Oxford's Master's in International Human Rights Law is a part-time degree offered
over two academic years, involving a combination of distance learning and summer residencies. It is

The Hauser Global Scholarship is the most prestigious honor awarded to exceptional LLM students.
This merit-based scholarship provides full tuition and reasonable living expenses, such as rent, the

25 University of Kent LLM Scholarships


The scholarship covers tuition fees at the full overseas rate (£17,020 in 2020/21) along with living
expenses (equivalent to £15,000 in 2019/20). All overseas applicants to the Kent LLM programme at
the Canterbury campus are eligible to apply. Applications are assessed competitively with the sole
criteria for the granting of the scholarship being the proven academic merit of the candidate. The
decision as to the recipient of the Scholarship is at the exclusive discretion of Kent Law School.

The “Guadalupe scholarship” Program, henceforth called “Becas Guadalupe” program, is a project that
Harambee ONGD launched on the occasion of the Beatification of the Spanish scientist Guadalupe
Ortiz de Landázuri on May 18, 2019. Its purpose is to promote and give greater visibility to female
African scientists, so that they can collaborate effectively in the development of their countries. The
program will award 100 mobility grants for African women researchers over a period of 10 years,
calling for 10 annual grants that may be applied by women scientists from sub-Saharan Africa for stays

The Janssen Global Mental Health Scholarship Fund was launched in 2012 through a generous
donation from Janssen Pharmaceutica (part of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies). In 2018,
