Dear colleagues,
Welcome back! In this issue you will find lots of ideas, photocopiable activities and ready-
to-use material related to the topic Icebreakers and warm-ups. An icebreaker is an activity or game
designed to welcome students and warm up the conversation among them in the classroom. The
main purpose is for students to comfortably interact and to get to know one another. We have
prepared a whole edition with lots of ideas you can use during the first classes of the year…
We know that the first month is tough and there are many things to revise and plan as well
as establish a connection with the groups you will be working with
throughout the whole year. Having fun, exploring our creativity
and learning with others are just a few components of the
ideas we present in this issue.

1. ACROSTIC POEMS
Acrostic poems are poems in which the first letter of each line forms a word
when it is read from top to bottom. Use the letters in your name and think of
words that define you or relate to you. Be ready to share your poem and tell your
classmates a little bit about yourself.
