Project Charter

Project Title: Solar Farm

Project Start Date: Mar2022 Projected Finish Date: Mar2023
Budget Information: The initial investment would be $200,000 allowing extra for
situations should they arise.

Project Manager: Justin Fugate

Project Objectives: The project objectives are to meet the time frames set forth for
construction of panels, fencing and electrical needs without going over the budget.
Once completed the training and operational goals will be the focus for success.

Critical Assumptions and Constraints: The market for anything is always

fluctuating and the need to get in while the price is low is important. Watching the
prices for land and panel construction would be important constraint because if they
increased past the point of my budget, I would need to reevaluate the project.
Preliminary Project Requirements: The project would require multiple skilled
workers who can construction and operate heavy machinery to meet the project’s
needs. Permits and zoning would have to be approved in certain areas to satisfy local
laws.
Success Criteria: This project’s success is relying on the completion of this project
within the year and the production of enough energy to support operating cost while
paying back the money loaned.
Approach: Using the work breakdown structure to support this project is important to
this project accomplishing all the goals. Getting the approval from the county to build
this solar farm prior to land purchase would be necessary first. Once approval is given
and land is purchased the I can implement the WBS to achieve my goals.

Comments: Project manager will supply weekly updates on project’s current progress
as well as plans/goals for the following week. Monthly there will be a budget meeting
to ensure the project is operating within its budget. If there is anything major that
happens outside of the WBS the project manager will consult with the stakeholders
prior to making that decision.

Assumptions
Without knowing the current market for skilled labor or the price of materials my estimates would vary. I gave conservative numbers where I felt
there is room for some difference.
