The Vice - Chancellor's Message

I am happy to know that the 'Prospectus-2019' of Patna

University is ready for publication. It is a handbook providing
all kinds of information to newly enrolled students. Even for
parents and others, there are enough materials/information to
know about the rules, regulations, academic
curriculum, sports and cultural activities, brief
profile of departments/institutes and directorates
of Patna University. We are dedicated to promote
academic excellence, human value induced
learning, all-round development of learners and
moreover, once a pupil completes his student life
cycle, he leaves campus as a disciplined, skilled,
academically sound and a perfect citizen of the
country. I must assure new learners, their parents
and the society that we mean academic business
and nothing else. We stand for freedom to ideas
and thought but not to abuse and misuse the extended length of
freedom.

We are providing enough opportunity to students to

excel in different fields. Every year student's union election is
held. Their role is well defined in the Patna University
Student's Union Statute, 2017. Students are given opportunity
to become a member of Departmental Council, Senate,
Departmental New's Bulletin, NSS, etc. However, to become a

member of above bodies, you need to become an eligible claimant. Our session is
regular. Academic, examination, sports, cultural activities and event calendars have
also been released. No one can expect extension of dates in the functioning of
respective calendars. Students are advised to be regular visitor of Patna University
website: www. patnauniversity.ac.in for updating themselves regarding different
kinds of information and activities. I further suggest all students to become a regular
visitor of Patna University library where more than 2.5 lakh books, journals and some
rare manuscripts are available for you. Financially weak students are advised to avail
the facility of Student's Credit Card which is interest free loan to the eligible
college/university students provided by the Government of Bihar.

At last, my message to my dear students is only to have confidence in your

capability and do hard endeavor with a clear target for achievement by making use of
all kinds of resources available to you. No one can stop you in scaling the target. My
blessings and good wishes are always with you all students.
