DESIGN THINKING FOR INNOVATION

What is design thinking ?

Design thinking is a process for creative problem solving.

Design thinking has a human-centered core. It encourages

organizations to focus on the people they're creating for, which
leads to better products, services, and internal processes.

Another Definition:

Design thinking is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to

understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and
create innovative solutions to prototype and test.

What is design thinking ?

For ex: When you sit down to create a solution for a business need,
the first question should always be what's the human need behind
it?
From the teachers perspective: Only two definitions?
From the student perspective: Why it has two definition. Our
maths teacher told for every item only one definitions. And they are
solid , direct , dam sure which can give marks in examinations.

What is design thinking ?

Design Thinking is a design methodology that provides a solution-

based approach to solving problems. It’s extremely useful in
tackling complex problems that are ill-defined or unknown, by
understanding the human needs involved, by re-framing the
problem in human-centric ways, by creating many ideas
in brainstorming sessions, and by adopting a hands-on approach
in prototyping and testing.

 In user experience (UX) design, it’s crucial to develop and refine
skills to understand and address rapid changes in users’
environments and behaviors.
The early foot mark of design thinking at first is
 The world has become increasingly interconnected and complex
since cognitive scientist and Nobel Prize laureate Herbert A.
Simon first mentioned design thinking in his 1969 book, The
Sciences of the Artificial, and then contributed many ideas to its
principles.

 Professionals from a variety of fields, including architecture and

engineering, subsequently advanced this highly creative process
to address human needs in the modern age

 Twenty-first-century organizations from a wide range of

industries find design thinking a valuable means to problem-
solve for the users of their products and services.

“Design teams use design thinking to tackle ill-defined/unknown

problems (aka wicked problems) because they can reframe these
in human-centric ways and focus on what’s most important for
users”

Design is everywhere. From the dress you’re wearing to the
smartphone you’re holding, it’s design.”— Samadara Ginige

Design is not limited to the digital world, but

instead everything we use in our daily life is designed for
human ease.

Simple Example:

1) The hairbrush that you use every day is designed in a way

that provides good usability when you are brushing your
hair.

Similarly, take example of a tooth brush. Imagine a beautiful tooth brush which
is not easier to use, will you still love it just because it looks good? No. If it is
not easy to use, then its appearance means nothing to you.
Now the question is : Can you suggest a model by your own?
