The secret of happiness is freedom and the secret of freedom is courage.

Good morning honourable principal Mam respected heads of wings, teachers and all my dear friends. It is
my happy privilege this morning to deliver the speech on the very auspicious occasion of the 77th Indepen-
dence Day of a nation India as the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi said freedom is never dear at any
price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living it delivers an important message that free-
dom is the most essential right and there is no cost for it that can be paid. Today we all have gathered here to
celebrate the spirit of freedom and a remarkable journey that has led us to this momentous occasion. The In-
dependence day. On this day 76 years ago India broke free from the shackles of colonial rule and embarked
on a path towards self-determination and sovereignty. It is a day that fills our heart with pride and honour
and a day that echoes sacrifices of countless heroes who fought tirelessly to secure a nation‘s liberty,

The part of India’s independence was not an easy task. People like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Chandrasekhar,
Azad, Rani Lakshmibai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and many more Fort against the British Raj and attend Swaraj
for their nation at the cost of their lies as Indians flourishing and living in an independent India. Let us re-
member and pay homage to these heroes who dedicated their lives for the cause of freedom. Their sacrifices
determination and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for the India. We know and cherish today.

There have been significant developments in all the sector since Independence.

A consistent growth in the field of education is being observed from the independence of a nation and the lit-
eracy rate has been growing since
To empower women of a nation, Constitution has provided equal rights and reservations for Indian women.
India’s now a superpower in the field of science space and technology as we have a world-class scientist re-
sources and infrastructure. One of the recent achievements being the success of Chandrayaan-3.
The whole country is attached through a network of roads and rail lines which is one of the largest in the
world. Development and transportation sector has also led to further exponential growth in production and
manufacturing sector.
India hosting the G20 Summit for 2022 to 23 indicates the fact that India is becoming a superpower and has
an importance in world issues
India also has a tendency to produce absolute gems in the field of sports like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli,
Neeraj Chopra, Sunil Chhetri and many more.

While we celebrate our achievements as a well developed and democratic country, we must also acknowl-
edge the fact that there is much more to be done with the youth must be uplifted and each one of us should
contribute selflessly and embrace the responsibilities of citizens of our beloved motherland to help a nation
become the best in each and every field.

Together we must stand against discrimination, poverty and corruption while protecting our heritage and glo-
rious culture. Let us forge ahead with determination and unity, leaving no one behind in this journey of
growth and prosperity.

I would like to recite a famous and motivating poem by Rabindranath Tagore on today’s occasion.
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake
The underlying theme of the poem is absolute freedom. The poet wants the citizens of this
country to be living in a free state. A nation should be an example for other countries for
being an absolute democratic country where no one is suppressed by any authority.

Though the heart desires to pray for a lot more. I further my speech to the mention of the
Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign which is about Matai ko Naman Veero ko Vandan as with-
out this, it would be unfair and injustice to the occasion. I will take the opportunity to read
out to you all and make you understand the context , content and spirit of Panchapran.

1. Firstly , resolve of developed India- the journey of India from Azadi ka Amrut Mahot-
sav to centenary of independence is termed as India's Amrit Kaal as it regains its
rightful place as Vishvaguru by 2047.
2. Secondly , Removing any trace of the colonial mindset- As a nation with a colonial
past, the slave mentality and colonial mindset continues to haunt the psyche of the
country and has become an obstacle in the path of the nation's development.
The citizen of the country need to rid themselves of any trace of colonial mindset.
3. Thirdly, Taking pride in our legacy: An important prerequisite for a positive and con-
fident mindset among the citizen is to have national pride- pride in its millennia old
cultural and spiritual heritage, pride in or legacy and contributions to the world and
the pride in being the citizen of this glorious nation.
1. The fourth point is , Our Strength of Unity: The nation as diverse as India is strong
because of its innate sense of Unity. The citizen should strive to understand, appre-
ciate and imbibe in them the various diverse cultural, linguistic and ethnic strands
that form the fabric of Bharat. Citizens of the country need to strengthen this unity
and protect the nation against disruptive elements that threatens it.
2. Last point being , Fulfilling the duties of citizens with honesty: This single minded
dedication to commit and strive towards fulfillment of the duties as a citizen shall
form the central pillar that supports India's journey in the Amrit Kaal.

Eventually, now taking the soil of the nation. In my hand, I would want to take the
Panchpran page on behalf of the entire school family present here. I will request
you all to raise your right hand for the pledge .
We Pledge to:
• Make India developed and self-reliant by 2047.
• Remove any trace of colonial mindset.
• Celebrate our heritage.
• Strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country.
• Perform the duties of a citizen

You may put your hands down.
