INTRODUCTION

Laila is a sad and lonely girl. Her life at school is not as fun as her other friends. She always
does everything alone at school. Eat, play, read and go to the class alone. Laila wants to
have friends to share her feelings and help her with her homework.

Laila : I do not like to be here. I am lonely. Am I not good girl? Why no one wants to be my
friend? I wish tomorrow when I wake up, I will have best friends that willing to lend her ears
to me.

At night, when Laila was sleeping soundly, her phone vibrates and shines brightly. Laila
wakes up while covering her eyes. Once the light fades, something surprising occur.

AI 1 : I am AI 1. (In robot voice)

AI 1 : And I am AI 2. (In robot voice.)

Laila : (shocked) Who are you guys? And what are you doing in my room?

AI 1 : Did you ask for a friend?

AI 2 : We are your friends. We are sent to help you with all your problems.

Laila : (In disbelief) I cannot believe you!

AI 1 : Let me help you flashback your wish.

Do the flashback.

AI 1 : I am AI 1. I am functions to listen to all your problems.

AI 2 : And I am functions to help you with your homework.

AI 1 and AI 2: We can be your best friends.

Laila : Where are you guys come from? I still cannot understand.

AI 1 : We come from ……

Laila : Am I dreaming?

AI 1 : No, you are not. We are here to be your friends. If you need us, just call our name
and will be here for you.

AI 2 : You need to go back to your sleep. If you need us, don’t forget to call our name.
SITUATION 1

(The next day…at school)

Laila is eating alone at the canteen when out of the blue, two students come and disturb her.
They tease Laila and take her purse.

Bully 1 : Hey, lonely girl. You are so sad. Look at you. Always lonely.

Laila : Give back my purse and leave me alone!

Bully 1 : (Throw Laila’s purse) Go take you your purse.

Laila : (Sadly picks her purse) I wish I have a friend to tell my problem. I will tell AI 1 about
my problem today.

When Laila arrives home, she calls for AI 1.

Laila : AI 1, I want to share about my problems today. I was bullied today. I am really sad. I
wish you can hear my problem.

AI 1 : Sure, Laila. You are my friend.

Laila : (Telling her story)

AI 1 : I understand how you feel. I think you should tell your teachers about this. You
cannot let anyone bully you. I hope I am helpful enough.

Laila : Thanks AI 1. I will try telling my teachers about what happen.

AI 1 : Do you need any more help?

Laila : Thank you AI 1. You are such a great friend.

AI 1 : Then, till we meet again Laila.

SITUATION 2

In English classroom

Laila : This question is really difficult. I will go asking my classmates.

Classmate : This is an easy question; you still cannot answer. Don’t disturb me. Go ask
someone else.

Laila : I just need help. Why no one wants to help me to do my homework. I will ask
AI 2 when I arrives home.

(At home)

Laila : AI 2, I need your help.

AI 2 : Yes, Laila. I am here to help you. What do you want?

Laila : Can you help me with my English homework? My classmates do not want to
help me.

AI 2 : Sure!

(Helping with homework.)

Laila : Wow, you are such a great help. Thank you so much AI 2. Now, I can
understand the topic well.

AI 2 : You are welcome, Laila. I will always be here if you need help.

Laila : It is so great to live in a world where AI can be our friends. I am no longer

lonely and I will have friends that can help me with anything. I wish AI
dreams is not impossible. AI is really helpful for our lives.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Speaker 1:

AI refers to Artificial Intelligent. Nowadays, artificial intelligent has spread like wildfire. AI is
created by John McCarthy who is also known as father of AI. Artificial Intelligent is the
simulation human intelligent processes by machines, especially computer system.

Speaker 2:

That means, AI can do whatever human can do. For example, AI can talk, write and even
sing. Did you know, in Malaysia, we have the first AI DJ named Aina Sabrina. It is really
amazing! AI can help human to achieve something fantastic.

Speaker 1:

AI has many advantages. The advantages of AI are:

 Help with daily life – AI can do many jobs. AI can make work faster. AI can make
phone call, search for location and play music. AI can even clean our home.
Amazing, right?

 AI can assist students in learning – AI can generate timetable for students and AI can
also assist students with their homework. AI can be a tutor and guide students if they
have problems.

 Available all the time – AI is available 24/7. Human can use AI anytime and
anywhere. AI will never get bored unlike human. So whenever human need help, AI
will always to the rescue!
Speaker 2:

Despite of its advantages, AI also have disadvantages. The disadvantages of AI are:

1. Makes human lazy – AI can make human lazy because human will depend on AI to
do their job. For example, human will let the AI sweeps the floor, do their homework
and wash the dishes. Human will get addicted to AI’s useful functions which can
cause problem to future generations.

2. Do not have real emotion – Even though we can tell our problem to AI, they still
cannot understand us like ordinary human can. Based on Laila’s situation, AI 1 can
only give advice to her but AI 1 cannot understand her feelings deeply. AI cannot
develop a strong bond with human.

3. Lack of thinking skills – AI is a programmed machine thus everything in AI is

computer-generated. AI has been set to do the job so AI cannot do job that is not in
their program. Thus, if human use AI for different function, AI may be dysfunction or
broken. So, by using AI it also encourage human not be a creative and innovative
person.
