G20 Summit 2023 LIVE: How to plan your commute?

As per the Delhi Traffic Police advisory, people need to keep the
following things in mind:
Airport, Railway, Metro services, Interstate Buses and
City Buses, and TSR/Taxis will be functional as usual,
however, the services of the railways, airways, interstate
buses, city buses, and TSR/Taxis will be
affected/curtailed.

Metro services shall remain available for commuters at all

Metro stations, except the Supreme Court station.
 City buses will operate on Ring Road and road network
beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi. These
buses will be allowed to exit from Delhi. However, the
City bus service will not be available in the New Delhi
Area.

No TSR and Taxi will be allowed to enter or ply in New

Delhi District from 05:00 hours on 9 September to 23:59
hours on 10 September.

The Delhi Traffic Police and local authorities will provide

regular updates on traffic arrangements, diversions and
alternate routes through various communication channels
such as social media.

situation in Delhi during the Summit

There will not be any lockdown-like situation during the G-20

Summit in Delhi. Delhi traffic police have endeavoured to
ensure unhindered Metro services and to ensure that all modes
of public transport are available with certain regulations. All
medical shops, grocery shops, milk booths, and vegetable/fruit
shops will remain open throughout Delhi including New Delhi.
General traffic, including all types of commercial vehicles and
buses shall be allowed to ply on Ring Road & road network
beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi.

AM 
During the G20 Summit on Saturday and Sunday, the DMRC
said that Delhi Metro will become operational from 4 AM during
the global meeting. However, as and when directed by the
security agencies, entry or exit at some stations may be
regulated for a brief period in the New Delhi district on
September 9 and 10 to facilitate the movement of VVIP
delegations.

G20 Summit LIVE 2023: Heavy security checks in Delhi

Preparations and security checks are underway in Delhi for the

upcoming G20 Summit that is scheduled to be held here on
September 9-10.

Security checks were carried out at Raj Ghat on Thursday

morning. Security personnel along with sniffer dogs conducted
security checks near the Mahatma Gandhi memorial.

Delhi airport operator DIAL has prepared ceremonial lounges to

receive the heads of state and other VIPs, and government
officials. Special corridors have been prepared for the entry and
exit of foreign dignitaries, aiming to ensure a seamless and
exceptional experience.

Union

The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he

would be very happy to see the inclusion of the African Union
as a member in the G20.

"I'm strongly supportive of the presence of an African country, at

least as a permanent member of the Security Council, that I
consider it is essential to reform Africa to have a stronger
participation. I would be very happy to see the African Union as
a member of the G20," The UN Secretary-General said. African
Union comprises 55 member states.

G20 grouping of nations has agreed to grant permanent
membership to the African Union, a continental body of 55
member states, the same status as the EU, from its current
designation of “invited international organization".

metals installed in front of Bharat Mandapam
The World’s largest Nataraja statue made from ‘Ashtadhatu’
(eight metals) has been installed in front of Bharat Mandapam
which is the venue for the G20 summit in the national capital.
The eight metals from which the statue has been made are
copper- 87%, zinc 10%, lead 3%, tin-trace quantity, silver-trace
quantity, gold-trace quantity, mercury-trace quantity, and iron as
support.

The statue is 27 feet tall and weighs around 20 tons which has
been made from lost wax technique.
The Nataraja statue was created by the traditional Sthapatis of
Swamimalai in the traditional lost wax casting process following
canons and measurements as mentioned in Silpa Shastra,
which have followed in the making of Nataraja since the Chola
period, i.e., 9th century AD onwards.

utensils

Heads of State and other world leaders attending the G20

Summit 2023 in Delhi will be served grand meals on bespoke
silverware bearing intricately engraved motifs inspired from the
cultural heritage of India. Most tableware have steel or brass
base or a mix of both with an elegant coating of silver, while
some wares like plates that will carry glasses to be used for
