CBSE/ ISC Requirements
Entry requirements for individual programmes will vary, however, a
typical offer will range between 78 and 81% in your best four
Standard XII subjects (excluding Hindi and P.E)

Standard XII with an average score of 90% (best of 4 academic


subjects) with any prerequisite subjects at 87% or higher TO
Standard XII with an average score of 83% (best of 4 academic
subjects) with any prerequisite subjects at 85% or higher.

The Indian High School Leaving Certificate (from CBSE and CISCE
boards only) at the end of standard XII will generally be considered
for direct entry onto undergraduate programmes with an overall
average score of 80% and 90%.

An overall average of 90 per cent across five subjects


As a minimum requirement, students who have taken Central
Board/State Board examinations and achieved in the range of 75%
to 85% will be considered for first year entry.

The Year 12/Standard 12 Indian School Certificate awarded by


CISCE or CBSE with five subjects at 95, 95, 95, 90, 90.

Typical offers for CBSE and CISCE range from 80% (equivalent
to ABB at A-level) to 90% (equivalent to A*AA at A-level). I

CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination (SSC), CISCE


Indian School Certificate (ISC) Standard XII: overall 80% with three
subjects at 75% including English

The University of Glasgow will consider students with Central Board


(CISCE or CBSE) or Metro state board qualifications. The normal
minimum requirement is 75% average including 75% in key
subjects,

CBSE/ ISC: Class XII CBSE, ISCE or a state board are acceptable. We
will generally ask for the best of four subjects, and any subject-
specific requirements will reflect the overall percentage required
(eg. 85% in best four subjects including 85% in Maths)

70% in Year 12 English from CBSE or ISC can be considered as


meeting the minimum English language entry requirement,
although some courses may ask for a higher grade.

Pass with 75% to 87% average from the best 4 subjects, excluding
Hindi and PE.
75% average in standard XII
Standard XII Subject specific grades:75-90%. IELTS 6.0 overall

Typical offers for Standard XII (awarded by a recognised Board of


Higher Secondary Education) are based on an average score ranging
between 75% to 90%. Best of four subjects.

A minimum of 70% is required in Grade XII
