We belong to Hazara, minority ethnic group and being Shia Ismaili Muslims, we have constantly suffered
discrimination and persecution in Afghanistan. Taliban and other groups have brutally massacred and
killed Hazara, and Shias over many years. We have been constantly targeted and live-in constant fear all
along as target killing, shooting and bomb blasts increase day by day targeting Hazara and Shia Ismaili
Muslims. Taliban government cannot protect us from these groups and somehow they also involved in
such attacks, and we continue to face these threats and suffer from the brutalities that till today
continue. Many times, my family members and I have suffered these brutalities and cruelty, but we kept
going as we had no choice.

During the study I was travelled three times to Afghanistan visiting my family there, last time my visit
was in April 2021, I left Afghanistan on April 2021 to continue my study in India, my plan was to stay in
India till end of my study which was happening in 2022, unfortunately Afghanistan fall down by Taliban
in 15 August 2021- so, keeping tracked the situation there it would not possible for me as a women to
return my home country, which our family already highlighted in their targets because my two brother
used to employed by NGOs and the other two of my brothers were military which one of my brothers
killed by Taliban during his duty at Defense Ministry of Afghanistan on 2016,

Also my younger brother Omid Sadat who was also in the military, he went to the America for
his Pilot Training and he couldn’t return to the country due to threaten from Taliban and
crossed border to Canada and has seek asylum.
Me and my sister were working for Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan, 2018-2019.
I have worked as reporter for Saya Press Weekly,2020-2021.
I was member of Afghan Youth and Social Development and Hamdeli empathy network which had lots
of activities such as efforts on fostering peace, civic engagement, and socioeconomic progress. They
organized several events such as Tabasum movement, which resulted in the Taliban killing seven people,
including women and children, in Zabul Province. The Roshnayee movement and the pursuit of justice
for Frakhunda, the young woman who was set afire by young, violent men in front of a Kabul masque.

In this situation for me it’s not possible to return my country first I am single, educated girl I believe that
after my return I would be face discriminations, violence event death by Taliban.

Taliban always did what they said. There were no options for me to return back Afghanistan, and all my
family’s lives are in danger.

I am not able to return Afghanistan, because I knew that the Taliban intelligence will not let us survive as
they had threatened us to forced marry or death, I am force to stay in India and find out some other
solution for my long-term settlements.
