1. Mention 3 main differences between simple and compound sentences!

 main differences between simple and compound sentences: Structure: Simple


sentences contain only one independent clause, while compound sentences contain
two or more independent clauses.

 Complexity: Simple sentences are less complex than compound sentences, as they
express a single complete thought or idea, whereas compound sentences express
multiple related ideas.

Conjunctions: Compound sentences are typically connected using conjunctions, such


as "and," "but," and "or," whereas simple sentences do not necessarily require any
conjunctions.
3 When do we need a comma?
- Put a comma after time-order transition expressions ( except then)
- - use a comma after the first part of a compound sentence.
- Use a comma to separate the items in a series. A series in three or more things.
These may be words or phrase ( groups of words)

Write YOUR OWN SENTENCE based on the following formula requirement. Only one
sentence for each formula. Be careful with the rules of capitalization, punctuation,
grammar, diction, etc.)

Simple Sentence
Formula SV: I went to university yesterday.
Formula SSV: Agus and Edi went to Apartment last night.
Formula SVV: Khalik is reading magazine while listening music.
Formula SSVV: Sohim and iwan are going to Malioboro and meet with Old Friends.

Plus, simple sentence with the following patterns.


Formula SVO: I miss you.
Formula SVA: Ananda looks pretty.
Formula SVC: Khalik is lazy.

Compound sentence
Using coordinating conjunction NOR: Iwan does not like indian food, nor does Jojo.
Using coordinating conjunction SO: Agus always eat unhealthy food, so he often get sick.
Using coordinating conjunction YET: Jonathan is very lazy, yet he do not have job.
