CAST SCRIPT

An amazing experience in a funny 5 star Hotel at Cusco

OMAR: Good afternoon teacher and classmates today we’re going to present our project.
And this project is about a conversation in which we can describe some costumes,
cultures and the most favorite dishes of Cusco. So as you can see our objective is to
describe one of our amazing departments, and in our case is Cusco. So lets start…

OMAR: Ok, it's time to work, but before that I am going to eat my breakfast as fast as I
can. I hope that today will be a peaceful day of work (phone sound). Oh no! I think that I
will have some problems for today. Good morning, Omar speaking. Who is calling me?

JHONNY: Hi? Hi? Omar! I was calling you long time ago  but  I really think my smartphone
is failing because the last week there were many times I had the same problem, for
example with my cousin, brother and some friends

OMAR: Who are you, I know you? Nah I’m kidding, It’s nice to talk to you after a long time,
I know that you have some communication problems, so I have a good solution for this. If
you don’t have any problems with your schedule, you can visit my hotel at Cusco. I think I
have a good job that I can offer to you as an important tourist guide, after all you are an
important Historian of our country.

JHONNY: Hahaha, my good friend Omar, the feeling is mutual and you already know that!
Hmm, are you serious bro? because at this time I am looking for a job due to many
reasons that I am going to tell you unless I will there with you. Now, I appreciate what
you're saying, in fact last year I received some recognition from the government as my
research has been verified to be true and in the near future, I am going to write a book .
So, I am the right person to be the main tour guide.

OMAR: That's great, we can eat a lot of natural food as you prefere, however first I need to
know your location. Where are you right now?

JHONNY: Hahaha, That’s a big coincidence, can you look behind you?

OMAR: oh you are right here! Wow How are you my friend? Wait, I have an important
message, oh no, Jhonny. Can you help me to work as a Tourist guide? I'm going to be a
tourist guide too. Today it’s a day off for all our principal personnel. Although we have two
famous tourists from Japan and the US that will arrive here in a few minutes.

JHONNY: yeah my dear friend, don't worry about that although I had to go to buy some
vegetables as you know and then go to hospital because of my I have a strong headache.
So.. its good to know you have two new tourists, blessings to you

LIPING: Good morning Mr Omar. I hear that you want to talk to me immediately, so I came
here as fast as I can.
OMAR: Definitely, you're right Liping, I need you right now because some people will come
here and you have to make food for them. However you should be careful because they
have an exquisite palate. So for that important reason, you have to cook your best you
can.

LIPING: Sure Mr Omar, remember I am here because of you always say that I am one of
the de best chef around the world and I apreciate it, so I am going to do it immediately:

(comida tipica cuzco) I will need a lot of rice and a lot of meat (beef). Apart from that, many
potatoes and obviously   chicha de jora  and other than you have to try is a little Inka Cola
that is a common drink in our country and apart from that there are much more!

OMAR: Oh you are right, please can you prepare four glasses of chicha de jora for the
meeting with our guests.

LIPING: Of course, It’s not a problem, maybe I have a good idea for our guests. I can
describe the most famous dishes or most common foods in the department of Cusco. In
addition I can describe the process of their preparation, but with little description to avoid
boring our famous guests.

OMAR: OK thank you my friend. Jhonny, Could you prepare it to start with the tour that we
are going to do?

JHONNY: I'm always ready for everything what happen. Oh Omar, look at that expensive
car Lamborghini, I suppose that our main guests are arriving right now.

OMAR: You are right. They arrived earlier than I thought. Good morning, My name is
Omar and I’m the owner of this five star Hotel, I know that both of you know our Hotels’
name. But It’s a great time to say welcome to Palacio del Inca, I hope your stay is most
satisfactory. For an amazing experience of Cusco I have a famous tourist Guide, his name
is Jhonny and for today he is going to stay with you until the final route.

LUIS:Wow, that was an amazing presentation. My hope about this country was right. My
name is Luis. I’m from the United States of America although I was born in Peru. I hear
that Peru has many delicious foods. oh wow cusco is a very nice and interesting place and
is there any special festivity or event taking place during my visit?
What are the typical dishes of Cuzco gastronomy and where can I try them?
What is the best time of the year to visit Cusco?
Are there any special safety recommendations or precautions that I should take into
account during my stay in Cusco?

GABRIEL: Hello, good afternoon to all the people here. My name is Gabriel. I am a student
from Tokyo, Japan although I was born in Peru too, and I have come to learn about your
interesting and amazing country called Peru, well, to be more exact, to know about Cusco
and everything related to their customs, their typical dishes, their archaeological and
cultural centers, and some hidden places that few people know about. So to talk in my
study center about what I learned from Cusco.
OMAR: Sorry for the inconvenience, Right now I need to check that other hotel services
are ready for your stay during the week. So see you later.

JHONNY: Ok thank you Omar for giving me this important event. Ok good morning guys,
my name is Jonny and for today I’m going to be your tourist Guide in Cusco. First of all let
me explain to you some important information about this wonderful department. The
culture of the Cuzco department in Peru is rich and vibrant, with a captivating blend of
indigenous traditions and Spanish colonial influences. Cuzco is renowned for its deep
historical significance as the former capital of the Inca Empire, and its cultural heritage
reflects this extraordinary legacy.

LUIS: Are there any special safety recommendations or precautions that I should take into
account during my stay in Cusco?

GABRIEL:  I would also like to know a little about the history of this place or the
archaeological centers such as Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuaman and also other
archaeological centers.

JHONNY: Ok, I think I can answer all of your questions with the tourist route that I
prepared for both of you. However I can say that The department of Cuzco is home to
numerous archaeological sites, including the iconic Machu Picchu, which attract visitors
from all over the world. The ancient ruins serve as a testament to the remarkable
architectural skills and advanced civilization of the Incas.

GABRIEL: Wow, I was impressed by the way and design the archaeological centers are
built, however I would like to know how they were the process of their formation more than
anything to understand them. Apart from that, its history because everyone knows Peru
has a great and mysterious history, however it has to be the next year because I won't be
here long.

JHONNY: Oh I understand, so let’s start with our route, so for this reason we prepare
some special cars and I am sure you will be surprised. So let's get in.

LUIS: I know that this hotel has a lot of positive things, but this thing was so impresive and
in fact I need much more of this!

GABRIEL: You are right I can spend  a lot of money to stay here for the rest of my life and
everything seems to indicate that I will be happy here!

OMAR: Hi guys, for this opportunity I’m going to be your personal driver because I know
some beautiful and special locations that I will hope that both of you can enjoy for today. In
addition to this route I have another specialist that can talk about some important parts of
this place. Please Jhonny. Could you present our friend to them?

JHONNY: No problem my good friend, so I would like to introduce one of the best
archaeologists that we have in our megadiverse country because his experience many
times as a college professor and trajectory endorse it. Bryan please, could you explain
about that?
BRYAN: Of course, Jhonny. I’m going to present myself one more time. My name is Bryan
and I’m an archaeologist and I can say that It’s a pleasure to have an opportunity like that
to explain so many things about Cusco. Now I'm going to talk about Sacsayhuaman. The
archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman is the most imposing and enigmatic archaeological
construction in the world. It is an ancient Inca temple that stands out for its architecture of
many wonders, from its great size to its historical and cultural value.
The construction of Sacsayhuaman was built in the Inca Empire in the fifteenth century,
being Pachacutec and Huayna Capac the ruling Incas. Its construction used many
advanced engineering techniques and a labor force of 20,000 men.
The Quechua to Spanish translation of Sacsayhuaman comes from Sacsay (to be
satiated) and huaman (falcon). Since the falcon is a bird with many characteristics of the
high Andean valleys. And the most important thing is, although it has been built many
years ago, it is still undamaged.

LUIS: That was interesting, It means that the culture of the Incas had a great development
in construction, they made a lot of civil engineer ideas, for example constructions that to
this day are still almost intact. Although, I hope that in the near future the rest of the
countries will adapt the materials used so that their constructions last longer as what we
can see right here

GABRIEL: All of this was so incredible, but Could you explain a little more about Inca’s
culture? I mean about some traditional festivals.

OMAR: Oh for this question our principal tourist Guide Jhonny can explain it to us.
However, first I would like to thank Bryan for his information about the historical places that
the culture of the Incas allowed us to protect and preserve. Please give him a lot of claps.

JHONNY: Here in Cusco we have many traditions, the main ones are:

- Adoration to the Pachamama

- Worship of the sun (Inti)
- The Inti Raymi, a very important religious and festive ceremony for the Incas

GABRIEL: Ohh wow that was really great Jhonny and I did not know that. In fact there is a
lot of information about this. I must say that I chose the right place to stay since you are
providing me with quite good information to know about Cusco and well, Jhonny, you left
me quite impressed and what interested me about your good explication was from the Inti
Raymi tradition that I would like visit some day but it has to be the next months although it
all depends if I'm doing well and can come before.

LIPING: On this occasion, I will delight you with the delicious stews that our hotel offers,
but first I would love for you to try this delicious drink called chicha de jora.
Luis: Thanks for this glass of chicha de jora, It’s delicuous.

GABRIEL: oh, how good is the food?, I heard that the food they have here is quite
delicious I hope they teach me how to prepare at least one typical meal here

LIPING  Of course Gabriel when you like, well the food in Cusco is very rich, nutritious and
varied, such as trout, chairo, baked guinea pig, kapchy de setaz, chicharron cusqueño,
Zarza de patitas, baked suckling pig, etc. But one of the most traditional dishes is the chiri-
uchu whose ingredients are toasted white corn, cheese, guinea pig, chicken, jerky, jerky,
cochayuyo, fish egg cup and rocoto. very well, after you have tried this delicious drink, I
will mention the menu that we have prepared. today for you our distinguished visitors.
What we have prepared for you are: The pachamanca has ingredients such as potatoes,
corn, beef and more ingredients that are produced here in the area. The chactado guinea
pig has as its main ingredient guinea pig that is accompanied with potatoes and rice The
humitas is made from ground corn And the chiri uchu is a typical dish that its name means
cold chili or cold hot pepper and it has ingredients from both the mountains and the coast.

LUIS: Definitely, the peruvian food is really wide because they have a wide variety of
typical dishes, I mean a lot many typical dishes in every place where we can go. For
example, you can find some exotic dishes in one place and also in another place.

OMAR: I guess after this conversation about food we all got hungry. Let's return to the
Hotel to eat all of the food that we talked about. Tomorrow we have another tourist route
for both of you in which we can see different places and some traditions that our guide told
us. Thank you for listening to us.
