ART HISTORY-
Art history is an interdisciplinary practice that analyzes the various factors—cultural, political, religious,
economic or artistic—which contribute to visual appearance of a work of art. Art historians employ a
number of methods in their research into the ontology and history of objects.

ART APPRECIATION-
Art appreciation involves having an understanding of all of the qualities that comprise a great work of
art. Art appreciation also involves learning about certain time periods, movements, styles and
techniques so that a person has a better understanding of the basis for the art as well as of the art itself.

HUMANITIES-
Humanities are academic disciplines that study aspects of human society and culture. In the
Renaissance, the term contrasted with divinity and referred to what is now called classics, the main area
of secular study in universities at the time.
