This document provides instructions for making a tiny straw angel craft. The instructions are divided into three sections - wings, dress, and arms. For the wings, nine straws are tied together with thread to form a double fan shape. For the dress, ten straws are bundled and bent to cover the thread and form a skirt. A pipe cleaner is inserted for the head and wings are placed under the back straw. The lowest wing straw on each side is bent to form arms and tied at the wrists. A gold thread is tied around the neck to hang the finished angel.

MATERIALS Wings — 9 fine straws, 3 inches long Dress — fine straws, 6 inches long 10 Yellow tatting thread for tying 12-inch gold thread WINGS l Pencil-mark the center of each straw. Push needle through straws at pencil mark (needle holds 9 straws). Wind thread around straws twice, very close to needle. Pull thread very tight; straws will expand into flat, double fan. When thread is tight as possible, tie firm double knot. Snip thread ends at V, inch. Remove needle.

ends. Straws will flare out slightly. Bend, straw by
straw, from upper section down over the lower straws, turning the bundle as you work, thus covering all the thread. Hold all together. Notice resulting hole. Insert pipe cleaner (with head attached) into the hole in center of dress. Lift one of the straws at the back of the head and place the wings under this straw. Draw the straw back into place and tie the bodice, V, inch from neck. Tie very tight so that the skirt flares as much as possible. A R MS Use the lowest straw of the wing for an arm on each side. Bend it forward for an elbow, and tie the wrists together close to the body. Trim ends to form tiny hands clasped in prayer. TO HANG Tie fine gold thread around angel's neck. 84
