ACUPOINTS
Acupoints (Acupressure point or acupuncture point) are any of the specific points
on the body where a needle is inserted in acupuncture or pressure is applied in
acupressure. There are hundreds of acupoints across the body, located on
channels of energy(meridians); acupuncture needles inserted at acupoints help
open blocked channels. Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes twenty
meridians ( 12 major and 8 minor) in the body, cutaneous and subcutaneous in
nature, which have branching sub-meridians believed to affect surrounding
tissue. Acupoints lie along the meridians.
