COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course presents the fundamental statistical concepts involved in the design and data analysis of experiments. It also covers topics in inferential statistics as well as
principles of counting, permutations, and combinations; principles of probability, covering additive rules, conditional probability, multiplicative rules, and mathematical
expectations. It shows the application of math in decision making. The course includes applications and data analysis with computations carried out using SPSS.

GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the end of the semester, students shall be able to:

1. Understand the basic concepts and principles of Probability and Statistics;
2. Solve and interpret practical problems using the different statistical tools;
3. Use these concepts and principles to real-life problems;
4. Solve problems involving the probability of compound events by use of the addition rule, the multiplication rule, or conditional probability.
5. Demonstrate the interpretation and use of a table of areas that corresponds to intervals of the standard score.
6. Apply the steps of testing hypothesis in T-test, Z-test, ANOVA, Chi-square and in Correlation.
