WEEK 6:
CRITICAL THINKING: DIFFERENT THINKING TYPES
INTRODUCTION

Thinking is the cognitive activities you use to process information, solve problems, make decisions, and create new
ideas. You use your thinking skills when you try to make sense of experiences, organize information, make
connections, ask questions, make plans, or decide what to do. Hence, understanding that there are different ways of
thinking that are both valid may help us work and relate with other people around us.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the module, students can:

1) Discover own thinking type
2) Analyze how other people’s thinking types affect their choices and decisions.
3) Plan a way on how to work with people effectively

MODULE LESSON

1 CREATIVE THINKING
This refers to the ability to conceive new and innovative ideas
2 ANALYTICAL THINKING

This is the ability to separate a hole into its basic parts in

by breaking from established thoughts, theories, rules, and order to examine the parts and their relationships. It involves
procedures. It involves putting things together in new and thinking in a logical, step-by-step manner to break down a

understanding a system by sensing its patterns.
MODULE ACTIVITY 1

1. Identify your thinking types

2. Group yourselves according to thinking types and share among yourselves the reasons why you think you
have that kind of thinking type.
3. Ask among yourselves who among the other “thinking-type” group could you work easily and comfortably
with and tell the class why?
4. Next, identify who among the other thinking-type group could you possible have a difficult time working
together and why?
5. Lastly, what can be the ways that you can do so that your group and the “opposite” thinking type group
could possibly work together and achieve the same goal.

MODULE ACTIVITY 2

Answer the following questions briefly.

What did you realize from the activity?

In this activity, I realized thinking Styles can help teams move more quickly from “forming, storming and

norming” to peak performance. Understanding our own and others' styles accelerates collaboration, increases

engagement, generates contribution and improves team performance. Knowing different thinking styles important to

understand how they affect our behavior. Learning to figure out which thinking style is dominant in your brain can

help you communicate better with others. Knowing how you think can also help you to make better decisions and

become more successful.

How can this activity help you in working together with other people or understanding other people?

This activity helps me more to better understand the different thinking styles of others in order for me to

know how to deal and cope up with the team members in the future. Working with an efficient relationship with your

members, collaborative problem solving leads to better outcomes. People are more likely to take calculated risks that

lead to innovation if they have the support of a team behind them. Working in a team encourages personal growth,

increases job satisfaction, and reduces stress.
