Task 2: More people than ever before are traveling to other countries. Why is this the case? Is it a
positive or negative development?

2. Body 1: Causes
-People want to experience new cultures
- Cheaper: accommodation, food, services, budget airline (competition), affordable airfare
- Higher living standard travelling becomes one of the basic demands / a way to spend their
disposal money
- The advance of internet and online services: online booking, online banking
- Language barrier is no longer a problem because of the rise in people speaking international
languages such as English..  easier to go abroad
3. Body 2: Effects
a. Positive
- On the bright side,
+ Tourism industry become backbone of the economy  generate multiple jobs in tourism
+ Introduce cultures worldwide
+Individuals: expand knowledge, experience
b. Negative
- Behaviors ( ex: littering…) pollution, adversely affect the environment
- Infectious diseases (covid 19)
- Domestic tourism (more people travel oversea  the number of people who want to travel
domestically decreases)
