    The Government of India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued a notice stating that Certifying Authorities should begin issuing digital signature certificates in a new series of tokens starting April 1, 2023 according to guidelines from the Office of the Controller of Certifying Authorities. However, to facilitate a smooth transition considering issues faced by relying parties, CAs, and subscribers, competent authorities have decided to grant a three month period until June 30, 2023 for issuance of DSCs using existing series of empanelled tokens. All stakeholders must address issues related to existing token series on or before June 30, 2023.

    NOTICE

    CA should implement the issuance of DSC in the new series of tokens from 01.04.2023
    onwards as per the Guidelines issued by the Office of CCA. Also taking into consideration of
    the issues faced by the Relying Parties, CAs and Subscribers, to facilitate a smooth transition,
    the competent authority has decided to grant three months for issuance of DSC in the existing
    series of empanelled tokens (by CAs) up to 30 June 2023.

    In the meantime, all the stakeholders are required to address issues related to the existing series
    of empanelled tokens on or before 30 June 2023.
