CLIMATE CHANGE
What causes it?
Climate change is already happening in
Peru. The ice on the glaciers is melting.
There have been more floods caused by
the El Niño phenomenon; there are also
more droughts in the highlands, as well
as landslides and mudslides on the coast,
in the highlands and in the jungle.
Human activities have led to
an increase in CO2
concentrations in the
atmosphere. This is mainly
due to the use of fossil fuels,
and, to a lesser extent, to
changes in land use, such as
deforestation and loss of
agricultural land.
Greenhouse gas emissions
blanket the earth and trap
the sun's heat. This leads to
global warming and climate
change. The world is
warming faster than at any
time in recorded history.

WHAT CAN WE DO?
Saving
energy
Saving energy helps to
reduce this impact and
contributes to combating the
effects of global warming
and climate change.
Use bicycle or
public
transport
They do not consume fuels.
They do not emit
greenhouse gases. They
produce much lower noise
levels than cars.
Eating more vegetables
By avoiding the use of
chemicals, this type of food
avoids polluting the air, soil and
water. Their production thus
limits the amount of waste that
is discharged into the soil.
Litter less
Waste minimisation means
less pollution and more
profit. Every minimisation
action means a reduction
in the consumption of raw
materials and resources.
Use renewable
energies
It ends the emission of
greenhouse gases and
other pollutants that
contribute to climate
change.
