The old witch

Once upon a time there were two girls who lived with their family. They were
very poor. The oldest daughter went to find a job to earn money. On the other hand,
the youngest daughter was very selfish and did not want to help the family. Then the
oldest daughter set off with hope in her heart to make her fortune. While she
was walking , she came across an oven with the hot baking bread inside.
“ Little girl, little girl, take us out, take us out. We have been baking seven
years, and no one has come to take us out . It is very hot in here and I am
sweaty . We need to breathe the fresh air and cool down . Can you do
that for us sweet girl ?”
“It will be a pleasure to help you; it looks so hot in there. ”
So the girl took out the bread, put it on the ground and went on her way
“I hope you will feel better now. See you, bye.”
The girl continued walking. And then she met a cow . The cow spoke to
her.
“ Little girl, little girl, milk me, milk me! For seven years I’ve been waiting,
and no one has come to milk me My udders are so full. I can hardly walk,
and it is getting very painful. Please would you be so kind as to relieve
Me of all this Milk”
“Of course. I’ll help you; I just hope my hands are not too cold .How is
that? Does that feel better? Are you feeling lighter now and has the pain
gone ?
The cow was happy and felt better.
“Thank you very much for your kindness. I’ll never forget you , my dear girl”
“It was my pleasure. See you next time, bye”
Then she went on, and came to an apple-tree. When she stopped, the apple tree
spoke to her.
“Little girl, little girl, help me shake my fruit. My branches are breaking, it is so
heavy I will be so happy if you lighter My load . The apples are so big
and ripe now ”

“Of course I will, I can shake your fruits and lighten your load .”
So she shook the fruits from the tree and left the fruits on the ground under
the tree.
“ I feel lighter and ready for next season now. Thank you so much dear”
“ You’re welcome, apple tree. I love apples .See you bye.”
Then she went on again till she came to a house. Now in this house there lived
a witch, and this witch took the girl into her house as a servant. The witch told the
girl what work she had to do.
“You must keep the house clean and tidy, sweep the floor and the fireplace;
but there is one thing you must never do. You must never look up the chimney, or
something bad will befall you. Ha Ha Ha remember Ha Ha .
So the girl promised to do as she was told, but one morning as she was
cleaning, and the witch was out, she forgot what the witch said, and looked up the
chimney. When she did this a great bag of money fell down in her lap. This happened
again and again. So the girl started to go back home.
Suddenly the witch appeared.
“Stop , stop, don’t take my money. Come back now or I will kill you.”
So she ran to the apple-tree and cried:
“Apple-tree, apple-tree, hide me, hide me
So the old witch can't find me.
If she does she'll pick my bones,
And bury me under the marble stones.”

So the apple-tree hid her. When the witch came up she said
Tree of mine, tree of mine,
Have you seen a girl
With a willy-willy wag, and a long-tailed bag,
Who's stole my money, all I had?
And the apple-tree said, 'No, mother; not for seven years.'
She went on again. And she asked the cow for help .
“Cow, cow , hide me , hide me
So the old witch can’t find me;

She wants to kill me “
So the cow hid her. And the witch couldn’t find her.
She ran and ran again. And she asked the oven for help.
“Oven, oven, hide me, hide me
So the old witch can’t find me;
She wants to turn me into a stone.”
She hid herself behind the oven. And the witch couldn’t find her.
She got help from her friends , the apple tree, the cow and the oven, so she
arrived home safely with her bag of money , she married a handsome man, and
lived happily ever after .
The younger sister got jealous, so she decided she would do the same thing,
but she did not help the apple tree ,the cow or the oven. So the witch
caught her and turned her into a stone to stand still in the forest alone
forever….
The moral of the story is
“ To help others is to help oneself, but you must never steal
the other people ‘s money.
