1978 — Patent Cooperation By filing one international patent application under

Treaty (PCT) system launched the PCT, applicants can simultaneously seek
protection for an invention in a very large number of
countries.

1994 — Arbitration and The Centre offers alternative dispute resolution

Mediation Centre (AMC) services to help solve international commercial
established disputes between private parties.

 Global Innovation Index GII released By WIPO, Cornell University and
INSEAD.
 GII 2022 topped by SWITZERLAND.
 INDIA ranked 40th out of 132 in GII 2022.
 In India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry deals with WIPO and related issues.
 Daren Tang Heng Shim is the fifth and current Director General of the World
Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
