SISE Lab and Installing ISE

Task 1: Cisco ISE 3.1 Installation
Activity Procedure
Complete the following steps:
Step 1 If you are no longer logged into the Glaslab Lab Environment, use the URL and
credentials provided by the instructor.
Step 2 Open a connection to your pod’s Cisco ISE. Click the Cisco ISE icon.

Step 3 In the new tab you should see the ISE CLI login screen. Log in with the username
setup, as the appliance is not configured, the installation wizard runs. If your setup
prompt does not appear, press Enter and then type setup at the “localhost login:”
prompt.

Step 4 Enter the values listed in the table below. If you make a mistake, cancel the wizard by
pressing Ctrl/Command + C. This will return you to the login prompt in Step 3.

Step 5 It can take the Cisco ISE appliance a few minutes to bring up its network interface,
ping its gateway and NTP server, and test read and write speeds. The pings should
succeed.
NTP is a slow time protocol, if NTP synchronization fail, you can ommit NTP
synchronization, due to lab time limitations.
As this environment is a lab environment, and not production, you may see a warning
about disk performance—it is OK.
Step 6 Once the Cisco ISE appliance displays, do not use Ctrl + C from this point forward.
The Cisco ISE appliance will finish installing by itself. The process involves installing
software bundles, setting up databases, and starting services. While completely
automated, the process can take up to a couple of hours to complete, depending on
several factors. When the process finishes, you may need to refresh the tab or press
Enter to display the login prompt.
