Calanus oil is extracted from the copepods of the same name, Calanus
finmarchicus. Calanus oil contains the omega-3s predominantly in the wax
ester form (the oil is slightly viscous). Wax esters are historically associated
with a penguin, seal, and whale oil, but are being produced by Norwegian
company Calanus AS from C. finmarchicus.

A recent North Carolina State University study finds that people who manage
to balance living in the moment with planning for the future are best able to
work daily stresses without being distracted and consumed by worries of past
or future.
"It's well established that daily stressors can make us more likely to have a
negative affect or bad moods," says Shevaun Neupert, a professor of
psychology at NC State and corresponding author of a paper on the recent
work. "Our work here sheds additional light on which variables influence how
we respond to daily stress."
Mindfulness is when people are centered and living in the moment, rather than
dwelling in the past or worrying about the future. Proactive coping is when
people plan for the future, which makes them free of future worries. Being in
the present moment, or the “here and now,” means that we are aware and
mindful of what is happening at this very moment and enjoy that specific
moment. We are not distracted by the mistakes of the past or worries of the
future, but centered in the here and now. Being present-minded is crucial as it
is the key to staying healthy and happy. It helps you fight anxiety, cut down on
your worrying and rumination, and keeps you grounded and connected to
yourself and everything around you.
