“The church… will become greater in spiritual riches and gaining the strength of

new energies; therefore, she will look to the future without fear…” – Pope John XXIII.

Upon the publication of the “CCC”, I would like to say that I see it as an aid to the

growing anxiety of being baptized as Catholic. Anxiety in a sense of many people are

worried of their religion and even put doubt on it. In this sense, the “CCC” serves as a

band-aid solution to help not just the people but the church to regain new strength, to see

things with hope, and claim the future with riches, power, and confidence as faithful

people. In line with this opinion, I as well am thankful for our creator that he helped us to

renew and even give a stronger foundation to His church; gathering his people as one

faithful family through the help of this book publication.

Upon reading the succeeding parts of “Fidei Depositum” I have learned that this

publication of the Catechism of the Catholic church is not a joke nor a magic trick that

happened overnight. It took a total of 6 fruitful years of openness and oneness to produce

such masterpiece. I have imagined of being one of the contributors of this book, but

honestly speaking, I find it hard to volley information and compare situation just to

extract the most important juice of every suggestion and ideology. In addition, I would

like to recognize the help of the Vatican II as the reference in accomplishing this work of

the faithful people behind it. It was in no judgement that even if the arrangement of these
ideas and facts, there is still this certain faith of the people going from the past and being

illumined by the present. In this case, the “CCC” contains both the old and the new.

Why? Because there are still fragments of problem that the people from the old

generation failed to encounter. It aims not to revised the faith of the old generation but to

make it shine brighter for the benefit of the humanity and God’s greater glory.

Lastly, totally consider the “CCC” as a book that illumines one’s mind and

catholic heart simply because it stated that prayers can be done in many forms and faith

can be showcased in many ways, but if not practiced; therefore; the book declared that

one’s faith after all is dead. As someone who do not consider himself with a deep

understanding of the scripture and doctrine, I do look forward on learning the value of the

text not just by reading it but also placing every detain in my heart. A practice that truly

shows that there is a union happening in our religion and in our faith simply by just

letting ourselves dipped with the depth of our understanding concerning faith as

Christians.

To end, all appreciation to the contributors for not aiming to replaced what is

already started and also to pay respect to those who already has a basis. Rather, it aims to

at least be a supplement and additional to the learning of the people while consciously

and reverently observing the preservation of oneness of faith and fidelity to the catholic

doctrine.
