"I write because it allows me to work through issues in my own life that I may be struggling
with. I wrote The Everything after College Book when I graduated college and was struggling
through the transition. Writing the book helped me work through some of those blocks and
obstacles. The same applied to my work on Boomerang Nation: How to Survive Living with
Your Parents the Second Time Around. I wrote for the 18-million young adults living at home,
and it greatly mirrored my own experience at the time, which involved living with my mother.
My book Kiss and Run: The Picky, Single, and Indecisive Girl's Guide to Overcoming Her Fear
of Commitment, the first-ever book about female commitment phobia, was a response to my own
fear of commitment and marriage. By the time I finished writing the book, I had sufficiently
worked through all those issues, and I got engaged soon after."
