셀 수 없는 명사 일정한 형태가 없는 물질, 감정이나 생각, 세상에 하나밖에 없는 사람이나 장소의 고유한 이름을
나타내는 명사는 셀 수가 없다.

인칭대명사
인칭대명사 명사를 대신하여 쓰는 말을 대명사라 한다. 인칭대명사는 사람이나 사물을 나타내는 대명사로 단
수·복수가 있으며, 인칭과 격에 따라 형태가 달라진다.
인칭대명사의 형태 인칭 말하는 사람(I)을 1인칭이라 하고, 듣는 상대방(you)을 2인칭, ‘나’와 ‘너’를 제외한 그
외의 사람 또는 사물을 3인칭이라고 한다.

두 글을 비교해 보자. 어느 글이 간결하고 표현이 풍부하게 느껴지는가?

this 말하는 사람과 가까이 있는 사람이나 사물을 가리킬 때 사용하는 대명사로 ‘이것, 이 사람’의 의미
이다. 복수형은 these이다.
형용사적 쓰임
명사 앞에서 ‘이 (~)’의 의미로 형용사로 쓰이기도 한다.
This wallet is my friend’s.
I know these people.
that 말하는 사람으로부터 멀리 있는 사람이나 사물을 가리킬 때 사용하는 대명사로 ‘저것, 저 사람’의
의미이다. 복수형은 those이다.
형용사적 쓰임
명사 앞에서 ‘저 (~)’의 의미로 형용사로 쓰이기도 한다.

it 앞에서 이미 언급된 사물을 가리킬 때 사용하는 대명사로 ‘그것’의 의미이다. 사물뿐 아니라 동물
등 사람이 아닌 것은 모두 it으로 사용하는 것이 원칙이다. 복수형은 they이다.
비인칭주어 it
날씨, 시간, 거리, 요일, 날짜, 계절, 명암 등을 나타낼 때 it을 주어로 쓴다. 이때 it은 특별히 무
엇을 가리키는 것이 아니므로, 해석하지 않는다.

There is / are의 be동사 다음에 not을 써서 표현한다. 「 There is / are+not ~」: (…에) ~이 없다

일반동사의 현재형
일반동사 현재형의 일반동사는 주어의 동작이나 상태를 나타내는 말로, eat, like, love 등이 있다. 일반동사의 현재
쓰임 형은 현재의 일반적인 사실, 반복적인 습관을 나타낸다.
일반동사 현재형의 일반동사의 현재형은 주어에 따라 형태가 변한다. 주로 동사원형을 쓰고, 주어가 3인칭 단수
형태 (he / she / it)일 경우에는 동사원형 뒤에 -(e)s를 붙인다.

동사의 종류 1
주어와 동사만으로 주어와 동사만으로 완전한 의미를 나타내어, 「주어+동사」의 형태로 문장을 구성한다. 장소, 방법,
문장을 만드는 동사 시간 등을 나타내는 수식어구를 사용하면 의미를 더 자세하게 전달할 수 있다.
목적어가 필요한 목적어(~을/를)가 필요한 동사로, 「주어+동사+목적어」의 형태로 문장을 구성한다. 이때 목적어
동사 자리에는 명사, 대명사 등 명사 역할을 하는 말을 쓴다.
문장의 구성 성분
문장을 이루는 성분에는 주어, 동사, 목적어, 보어, 수식어가 있다. 기본적으로 영어의 문장은
주어와 동사로 이루어지는데, 동사 뒤에 어떤 성분이 오는가에 따라 문장의 종류가 달라진다.

문문은 「의문사+동사+~?」의 형태이다. 대답은 yes나 no로 하지 않고 구체적인 내용으로 한다.
(1) who: 누가(주격), 의문사는 단수 취급하므로 의문사가 주어일 때는 동사를 단수형으로 쓴다.

명령문 상대방에게 명령, 지시, 충고 등을 표현할 때 사용하는 문장이다. 상대방인 주어 you를 생략하고
동사원형으로 시작한다.
감탄문 ‘정말 ~하구나!’라는 뜻으로 어떤 일에 대한 기쁨, 슬픔, 놀라움 등 감정을 표현할 때 쓴다.
how는 형용사나 부사를 강조할 때 쓰고, what은 명사를 강조할 때 쓴다.
