or citations, facilitating acts of dishonesty by others, having unauthorized possession of
examinations, submitting the work of another person, or tampering with the academic work of
other students. Any form of action against academic honesty is a serious academic violation
and will result in a disciplinary action and may result in student getting a zero (0) grade in the
related assessment and failing the course.

COURSE ORGANIZATION
Educational To improve analytical and technical skill of the students for making
objective good informed managerial decisions based on systematic analysis.
Course Description In this course, students are exposed to quantitative modeling and
decision making which help them analyze complex decision problems,
develop a good understanding of the dynamics involved, and be able to
generate good solutions. Topics include decision making under
uncertainty, simulation and risk analysis, and optimization modeling all
of which, address contexts where decisions need to be made based on
rigorous analysis. Students learn to use the underlying tools within a
spreadsheet environment by solving problems depicting real-world
business issues.
Learning outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the learner is expected to be
able to:
LO 1 Identify and analyze uncertainty in decision making,
LO 2 Describe the constituents of decision analysis under uncertainty and
apply its tools in real settings,
LO 3 Develop basic static simulation models and do scenario analysis,
LO 4 Develop basic optimization models for decision making,
LO 5 Interpret the results of simulation and optimization based analysis,
LO 6 Communicate results orally and in writing.
Course Delivery Fully Online: You are not required to come to campus for lectures and

recorded especially during question & answer periods. Students who
do not wish their audiovisual data to be recorded may turn off their
video/audio. Students who leave their video/audio on during the
lectures are assumed to have allowed recording/sharing of their
audiovisual data.
● Instructors may make lecture recordings, and course-related videos
and documents available to students asynchronously.
● At times during the lectures, students’ active involvement in certain
activities may be requested by the instructors which would require
students to turn on their video/audio during those times. If a student
declines to turn on his/her video/audio when requested, then he/she
is assumed not to have participated at these activities.
● The instructors may request students to turn on their video/audio at
certain instances during the lectures in order to take attendance. If a
student declines to turn on his/her video/audio when requested, then
he/she is assumed not to have attended the lecture.
