dielectric constant is ϵr .
(b) A spherical conductor of radius R carries a charge Q. It is surrounded by a dielectric
material of susceptibility χe . The new radius becomes R1 (> R). Find the energy of the
configuration.

susceptibility χe .

(ii) Find the polarization at r(< R) .
(iii)Find ρb and σb .
(iv) What is the bound charge (Qbs ) at surface.
(v) Where the corresponding negative bound charge (Qbv ) is located ?

2. The potential at any point (r, θ) outside the conducting sphere of radius R is given as,

(ii) P⃗
(iii) Bound surface charge σbs at x = 0, d
(iv) The capacitance C, assuming the plate area as S.
