Catering Fee Payment System

• All GEMS school children are automatically enrolled for the Slices Catering Fee Payment system upon school enrollment
• Student details are updated upon enrolment
• Parents can access the Catering Fee Payment system via the GEMS Parent Portal using the existing login details at
www.gems.ae
• The Parent Portal enables parents to:
- Top-up online using a debit or credit card, cash top-ups can also be completed in school at any of the Slices counters
- Review their balances and top-up history
- Monitor their child’s usage
• The Catering Fee Payment system is accessible from the drop-down option of Fees
• Students will access the fund by using their student ID / STS card at the Point of Sale
• The cashier will swipe their card for each transaction and their balance will be adjusted accordingly and updated on the
GEMS Parent Portal

1. How do I enroll for the Catering Fee Payment System?
All GEMS school children are automatically included at their school enrollment and details are available on the GEMS
Parent Portal atgems.ae
2. I have more than 1 child at school how can I add credit to individual children?
Please select the child you would like to add credit to and follow the prompts
3. When I top-up will the balance be available immediately?
Subject to your bank approval the account top-up will be immediate, if it is not visible on the GEMS Parent Portal

4. I would like to use cash to top-up my child’s account, is that possible?
Yes, cash top-ups can be completed at any Slices counters in your school

5. I had a balance on the previous cashless system, will that be available in the new system?
All student balances from the YACOB System will transfer to each applicable child on the new Catering Fee Payment
system
6. I have a query on my account, who should I contact?
For any balance queries please contact customersupport@slices.ae
7. How do I view the available menus?
All menus have been communicated at the start of the term for any updates please contact customersupport@slices.ae
8. I would like to order meals online for my child, what should I do?
Individual schools offer classroom delivery services, and this can be arranged from the onsite supervisor if the service is
available,your school PRE will have the contact details of the relevant Slices Supervisor
FAQ’s
9. How does my child use the Catering System?
Your child’s available balance is accessed using the School ID / STS Card, they will present to the cashier for any
purchases and this will be swiped for each transaction
10. I would prefer my child to use cash, is this still an option?
Yes, cash can still be used at all our Slices counters
11. My child has lost his card, what should I do?
As this is the School ID / STS Card this should be reported to the school, once a replacement is issued the card
will automatically be updated for use in the canteen
12. Will I receive a notification when my balance is low?
We are currently adding this feature to our system and will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
