All quizzes will be completed ONLINE on the McGraw Hill Connect website. The quiz open and
close dates are also noted on the Connect site when you click on each individual quiz. When
each quiz opens, students will have a specified time period to perform the quiz prior to the
close date. Students will be permitted 2 attempts per quiz during the “open” period prior to the
official close date, with the highest mark of the 2 attempts being taken as the final grade by the

responsibility to read the entire chapter material and be prepared to be tested on any of the
chapter content.
The Instructor will notify students when quizzes are available and when they are due.

every class you miss, you lose 1% of the course mark. You are allowed to miss 1 in-person and 1
online class without penalty. Please do not miss presentation days and do not miss exam days.
Any situations or circumstances preventing a student from full attendance or participation in
class activities will require substantiation and will be considered on an individual basis by the
instructor.
There will be opportunities to answer questions in all the classes. You can gain participation
marks by answering and participating in these interactive activities.
Each group will present one assigned article to the class. Articles will be sent out by the
instructor during week 5. The presentation should be a summary of key points that the article is
trying to convey, and one example not present in the article itself. Each group should create a
PPT, and the presentation should be 15 minutes long (10 minutes for the summary of key
points, and 5 minutes to present the example). Each group member should present for an equal
amount of time. It is up to each student to find and read the article.

Group Project: Marketing Invention – Report and Presentation (32% - Group)
Use the description of this assignment to create an outline for the paper. Include an
introductory and concluding paragraph, and title page.
This assignment will be done in groups. An “invention” here is a truly unique and
innovative approach to one element of the marketing mix. Each group will select a particular
real-world business, decide what the 4 P’s are for that business, then radically change one of
those P’s. Have fun with this and get as radical as you can! Thus, it could mean a radically new
approach to pricing (for example, a bowling alley charging customers based on how many pins
they knock down) or a totally different product (for example, an auto repair shop that offers
do-it-yourself work areas where you pay for mechanical advice as needed).
There will be one mid-term and one final exam, all of which will be given during class
(in-person). Exam content will be pulled from the assigned textbook, class teachings, course
readings, and case studies. The exams may consist of a combination of (a) Multiple Choice; (b)
True or False; and/or (c) Short Response Questions and (d) Case Analyses.
Late Assignments
Late assignments will incur a reduction of 15% per day, each day the assignment is late, unless
an approved doctor’s note is presented.
Office Hours
The regular office hours are through online zoom, Fridays, 5:15 pm to 7:15 pm (please email me
