matter what challenges every town would face, the show must go on. Because the Philippines is

the local city. Each local's fiesta is blasted with several entertaining activities and fun to be
joined and watch with.

Pamplona is a town filled with local tribes, joyful crowds, beautiful sceneries, and colorful
festivals and fiestas. The reason why the town fiesta is celebrated for two days is that there was
an agreement where there will be two patron saints of the town; San Juan Nepomuceno and
San Pedro the Martir. The town fiesta is celebrated on the 29 th of April but it will last up to a
week considering the entertaining events and activities to be joined with. The main events and

that even tourists and guests from other towns would come to watch and visit.

The Tubung Festival is the major event of Pamplona's Town Fiesta where it is celebrated
through a dance, a streetdance perhaps. This streetdance is a competition of per barangay

with colorful costumes and props. This type of festival signifies the creativity and productivity of
Pamploneños in making colorful and beautiful products made out of bamboos as a part of their
livelihoods.

Another type of event is the procession of saints allocated in every barangays. This is not
a normal procession where you just hold the saints and walk around the corners of the town. It
is a unique procession where the patron saints were placed on a tricycle decorated with flowers
and garments to look like an elegant float. It reflects the religious culture of Pamplona and
where Vicar Pedro Montenegro convinced the people to unite the two towns naming it
“Pamplona” in memory of his hometown Pamplona in Spain. Thus, leading an agreement to
have two patron saints of the town and to be carried during religious processions.

visual aspect of art. These elements have a relationship with each other that greatly
affects the artwork and can transcend various meanings. Principles can resurface
reflections and perspectives among the viewer's eye.

create different aspect in visualization such as dimensions and even illusions.

I enjoyed most on the activities that identifies the principles and elements of an art and creating an art
that inquire a principle.

I want to learn more on the artists of a contemporary art that invokes the different principles and
elements of an art.

SUMMATIVE TEST

1. How did the Internet help in the innovation of art?

 The internet has gone too far through the years. It convenes people with the
technology they have, and so does art. The internet, with the help of technology,
shares a lot of benefits to arts and it assisted its evolution and innovation in our vast
world. It shaped and re-contextualizes its forms and elements through digital
technology. Social media, in connection with the internet, has triggered creativity and
productivity to people considering that they fed up mere worldwide exposure to other
ideas. Moreover, internet altered the art system and has given many opportunities to
people and artists to execute various mediums and with a wider audience. The
internet along with technology is considered to be the catalyst of many aspects of the
world including art.
2. Explain and substantiate. Is “appropriation” acceptable? Do you think that the preexisting
artwork used in appropriation is defaced or devalued?
 Appropriation has gone so much attention on the online world and it is known for
borrowing images or ideas from preexisting artworks. But the question is, is
appropriateness acceptable to the public eye? Well, it is acceptable if the artist has
permission to re-contextualize the preexisting work and has gone through the
intellectual-contextual perspective. However, through this modern time, our
contemporary culture on art can be acceptable even without the permission of the
owner and the intellectual property rights differ from other countries. If we defined
the term ‘art’, a subtle or imaginative ability in building or devising, and it should not
be limited to one's cultural milieu that's why there are principles of arts and
appropriation is included in that. The second question is, is the preexisting artwork
used in appropriation is defaced or devalued? I think it is not. According to Gersh-
Nesic (2019), that appropriation artists want the viewer to recognize the images they
copy, and with the addition of the original meaning and the artist’s perspective, both
may likely arise.
