study's purpose was to better understand the effects on their children's behaviour. The
parents perceptions using the internet and for the effect of this to his/her children and
knowing the advantages and disadvantage. 68% of parents believe social media
affects their teen's ability to socialize normally. 56% believe their teen has an
unhealthy desire for attention/approval via social media. in this research the most
attention is paid to the parents' view of using the internet and what is its effect on the
children who use it and how will it affect health and learning and what will be the
advantages and disadvantages of the internet among young people, the most
respondents here are the perception and the impact of the use of the internet by young
people and how it can be solved, let's do a survey for parents so that we can know
more and expand our perspective what is the opinion of parents on using the internet

Introduction
The Internet is a wonderful invention for human beings. However, it has lots
of negative effects on teenagers. First, young people are likely to get addicted to the
Internet. Second, the rate of having myopia is higher than before. The last effect and
also the most obvious one is the deterioration of social skill of teenagers. These
Internet addiction is a serious problem for teenagers. Young people are getting
used to doing everything on the Web, such as making friends, and buying clothes.
Sometimes they may get addicted to the fictitious cyber world. It seems that the
Internet is a great attraction for teenagers. The Internet is a tool for them to get in
touch with the world. However, spending too much time checking information from
friends is a waste of time. I believe there must be more important things in our life
Myopia is a common disorder of teenagers and the age at which children get it
has become younger. The Internet has become a part of young people’s life. However,
the more time they spend on the Internet, the more chances they will have myopia.
The eye disorder is bad for teenagers’ study and health. Blurred vision will disturb
their learning, and they cannot pay attention to what the teacher is talking about. It is a

The Internet has changed our way of communication. Face-to-face interaction
is not necessary through the Internet. Teenagers may feel more comfortable to

The Internet causes many impacts on our life. Especially for teenagers, the
negative effects are more than the positive ones. However, I believe having good time
management is the only way to solve these problems. It is not a problem only for
children. Parents should take this issue seriously too. In conclusion, the Internet is a
great invention for human beings. Using the Internet in a proper way, everyone will

keep family members in a particular spot. (In both of these cases we identified that
families attribute value to shared experiences and physical proximity.) Third, media
consumption structured time, and keeps family members occupied for a set duration.
All three of these roles can be beneficial to a parent who is trying to create order out
When considering family policies for media consumption in the home, parents
are understandably cautious. If unregulated, video game play, MP3s, and TV viewing
can promote weaker family relationships, poor communication and subject the family
to unwanted immoral influences. Peace and order in the home can be threatened as

Negative Impact Studies show the internet has had a net positive impact on
education but has been negative when it comes to morality and politics. Also, people
who spend excessive amounts of time on social media platforms tend to be lonely and
socially isolated. Excessive internet engagement can also impact self-esteem.It can be
Positive Impact The internet has a vital impact on student academic outcomes
as it helps students to access journals and articles which otherwise are not made
available in the libraries. The study concluded that increase in internet use was very
useful in the improvement of the learning outcomes. For all of us, it is a blessing in

significant impact on how we continually interact with people. For all of us, it is a

schools and/or the community for curbing risky or problematic Internet use.
The study is focused on explaining the parents perception of the internet and
its effect on their children. The result of the study has been beneficial to the
following:
The children: Our study is important to all children so they can know the possible
result of using internet, this can be positive or negative effects of internet to them.
Also for them to be aware of using the internet properly and know the limitations.
The parents: The significance of our study to parents is for them to be aware to the
cause and effects of internet to their children, So that they can guide their children in a

connections between children's sleep, stress, depression, and internet use. Parents
believe that sleep effectively reduces children's stress, while children instead insist
that internet use is effective for reducing their stress. Based on that argument, this
study has three purposes: to examine whether sleep or internet use is more effective at

measured their stress level, depression level, sleep hours, and hours of internet use.
The Daily Stress Scale of Korean Children, Korean Child Depression Scale, hours of
sleep on average per day (sleep), and hours of using electronic devices per day
(internet use) were used as the measurements. Regarding the statistical analysis
methods used in this study, linear regression was used to examine the regression
effect of both sleep and internet use on stress and the regression effect of stress on

depression. Path analysis, one of the structural equation models, was also used to find
direct, indirect, and mediating effects between variables. The study results show that
(i) sleep, not internet usage, effectively relieves children's stress; (ii) stress is an
important influence on depression; and (iii) sufficient sleep reduces stress, which
reduces depression. It is recommended that future studies consider the quality of sleep
and quantity of sleep for more valid data analysis and carry out follow-up research

Standardized tests measured the academic performance. Our findings showed that
family socioeconomic status was positively related to math performance, but not
significantly related to Chinese performance. The results also indicated that Internet
use did not significantly mediate the relationship between family socioeconomic
status in 2014 and math performance in 2016, while the frequency of Internet use to

student's academic engagement. There are numerous studies explaining the negative
relationship between Internet addiction and academic performance still very few
studies could explain how the excessive use of the internet disrupts students' academic
engagement. This study focuses on two aspects, each of academic engagement viz,
dedication, and vigor and Internet addiction viz, emotional, and cognitive

was collected from 152 students in an Institute in India through questionnaires. The
data was analyzed using correlation and regression. The analysis showed that Internet

parents seek to mitigate those risks. This paper investigates the associations and
correlations between what parents do and what children say about online risks. It
compares and contrasts parents' mediation strategies and their children's online habits
with the aim of investigating which parental mediation strategy has taken place to
reduce the risk of online activity against children. The findings indicate a substantial
gap between what children do online and what their parents know. The majority of
parents are interested in monitoring their children's online activities and collaborating
with their children on those activities, but most parents also do not have a strategy for
and children to ensure online safety. This is not a result of a lack of interest, but rather
a result of a shortage of resources due to time constraints, and poor knowledge of the
“Parents’ views about internet use of their children” cited that Parents’ views are
primarily important for children’s effective and secure use of Internet and protecting
them against the threats of Internet. Therefore, this study aims at determining the
views of parents about the Internet use of their children who attend a private
elementary school in Turkey. Carried out through the qualitative research method, the
research data of the study were collected from 33 parents and were analyzed by
running descriptive analysis, which is one of the qualitative data analysis methods. As
a result of the analysis, it was revealed that parents regard Internet as the most
developed technology, a window opening to the whole world, and as a tool to attain
information. Moreover, parents reported that Internet has positive and negative effects
together. Parents stated that Internet use of their children has positive effects in terms

psychological and physical aspects. Based on parents’ views, this study provides

Problematic Internet use (PIU), which has become a global social issue, can be
broadly conceptualized as an inability to control one's use of the Internet which leads
to negative consequences in daily life. The aim of this paper is to give a brief
overview of the gradually evolving body of literature on PIU. This shows that the
definitions and diagnostic criteria that have been proposed, and the assessment tools

prevalence of PIU in the general population. Studies suggest high comorbidity rates
and cognitive behaviour therapy may have some utility in the treatment of PIU. More
research is needed on areas which remain unclear and contribute to the prognosis of
PIU, in particular the temporal relationships between psychiatric disorder and PIU,
mechanisms of comorbidity and the more subtle psychological changes that occur

2013). Similar access rates have been observed in Asia (particularly Japan, South
Korea and Taiwan) and lower rates, in the range from 45.0 to 55.0%, in South
America (ITC, 2013). Internet use is comparatively lower in Africa and the Middle
East but respectively grew by more than 3600% and 2600% between 2000 and 2012
The growth in Internet use has been paralleled by emerging concerns about
problematic Internet use (PIU), also variously termed Internet addiction (Brenner,
1997, Young, 1998), pathological Internet use (Davis, 2001) and Internet dependence

(Scherer, 1997). PIU can be defined as “use of the Internet that creates psychological,
social, school and/or work difficulties in a person's life” (Beard & Wolf, 2001, p.378).
Scientific understanding of PIU has lagged behind media attention mainly because of
inconsistencies in defining PIU, disagreement about its very existence, and the
