Topic ‘Data Presentation: Central Tendency and Dispersion’

Main point list

1. What is the purpose of the measures of central location?
2. How many measure for the central location do we have? List the name.
3. Do we use the same measures of central location for the population and the
sample?
4. Why do we need the measures of dispersion?
- Dispersion means the distance of the scattered data from the central value of
the data.
- Important because providing variability of the data set then we can conclude
abou the precision of it base (high variability => low precision)
- gives information regarding the volatility or non-volatility nature of the data
set.

7. Which measures can be used to investigate the relationship between variables?
