JIM: According to the study of Behnke Gilliland, Schneider and
Singer in 2005, The usage of gadgets such as tablets in class can
contribute to improve student performance, it also can contribute
to decrease in the number of students who perform poorly in
class.

JIM: Are with me today to present our research. Entitled The Role
of Gadgets in Learning among Grade 11 students In Porac Model
Community High School.

(OBJECTIVE)
RYZA: This study aims to examine the benefits and challenges
that Grade 11 Students face when implementing technology into
their learning process.

ANJHEL:This study aims to examine the benefits and challenges
that Grade 11 student face when implementing technology into
their learning process.

Specially, it seeks to answer the following questions:


1. Does gadgets have significant effect on performance and
learning outcome of the students?

2.How many times do 11th graders use technology for


educational purposes?

3. What is the relationship between Grade 11 students levels of


digital literacy and their successful use of technology for
learning?

(SCOPE AND DELIMITATION)


The scope of this study is to examine the utilization of gadgets in
learning among Grade 11 students in Porac Model Community
High School. This study seeks to explore the potential benefits of
integrating gadgets in the learning process, assess the level of
gadget usage among students, identify the types of gadgets
commonly used, and determine the perceived impact of using
gadgets in enhancing student learning outcomes.
This study will investigate how the use of gadgets affect the
academic performance, engagement, and motivation of the
students. The study will focus on the types of gadgets commonly
used by the students and the frequency of their use. The study will
also examine the opinions of the students about utilizing gadgets
in learning.

The main focus of this study is to know the role of gadgets in


learning among Grade 11 students. This study is limited only to
the Grade 11 students in the Senior High School Department of
Porac Model Community High School during the school year
2022-2023.

(RESEARCH GAP)

While technology has been widely integrated into education, there


remains a research gap on the specific role of gadgets, such as
smartphones and tablets, in learning among grade 11 students.
While recent studies have explored the use of learning platforms,
there is still a need for further investigation into how gadgets
affect different dimensions of learning among this specific age
group. For instance, some questions that remain unanswered
grade 11 students. Although these gadgets are often considered
beneficial due to their ability to provide access to information and
communicate with others, there is limited research on how they
impact the learning experience of students within this particular
age group. Furthermore, while there has been some research on
the relationship between technology and academic performance,
there is a lack of studies that explore how gadgets specifically
affect learning outcomes in grade 11 students.
Therefore, the current research gap highlights the need for further
investigation into the role of gadgets in learning among grade 11
students, including their impact on motivation, engagement, and
academic performance. Understanding the relationship between
gadgets and learning could contribute to the development of more
effective educational practices and tools that utilize technology in
a way that better supports optimal learning outcomes.
