Introduction

Internet became an important part of our everyday lives. According to Asian Satellite Communications (2022),
Internet offers a collection of important services and resources that are essential to daily living. Moreover, through
the internet, people progress in almost all aspects from communication, education, and even we ca utilize the
internet to pay our bills and many more. Though there are many positive uses of internet, there are also negative
ones. According to Hubvela (2022), internet has an adverse effect to students academic performance which
includes addiction, decreased motivation to study, exposure to harmful information and psychological disorders.
This study aims to determine the relationship between internet addiction and academic performance of Criminology
students of University of Mindanao Digos College.

Research Objectives

This study aims to determine the relationship between internet addiction and academic performance of Criminology
Students of University of Mindanao Digos College. It seeks to answer the following:

1. To assess the level of internet addiction in terms of following:

1.2 Frequency of Usage


2. To assess the Academic Performance of Criminology Students of University Of Mindanao Digos College in
terms of the following:

2.1 Time allotted in Studying

2.2 Grades

2.3 Motivation to study
