Working title:

Effects of online gaming among senior high school students in Leyte national high school
amidst the covid 19 pandemic

Objectives:

General Objective: to determine the effects of internet gaming on senior high school
students at Leyte National High School amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specific objectives:

(1)determine how the pandemic influenced addictive internet gaming usage among senior
high school students at Leyte national high school. (2) to determine the respondents'
perceptions of the effects of online gaming on their academic performances. (3) to
determine the lived experiences and issues of senior high school students pertaining to
online gaming. (4) to describe addiction's effect on the quality of student education during
the COVID-19 pandemic among senior high school student's academic performance at
Leyte national high school

Rationale:

Internet use has become one of the most important habits in our daily lives. Nowadays, it
has become one of the necessities of human beings as a means of communication and
relaxation. One of the influences of this technology is computer gaming. Online gaming is
one of the widely used leisure activities by many people. And nowadays, students spend too
much time on online games as a way of coping with stress, however, these can also have
negative effects affecting their academic performances; thus the conduct of this study.

Methodology:

Phenomenological research design approach

Interview or Survey questionnaires would be the possible methods for collecting the
research data

Relation of Socio-economic factors and the academic performance of Senior highschool


students at Leyte national highschool amidst the pandemic

Objectives:

General Objective: to determine how socioeconomic status affects the academic


performance of senior high school students at Leyte national high school from the
emergence of the pandemic and the implementation of online classes as an anti-pandemic
measure.

Specific objectives:

(1)(1) Determine the impact of poor socioeconomic position on senior high school student's
academic performance. . (2) find out if the socio-economic status of a student and their
academic performance during online learning are related to each other. (3) to determine the
lived experiences and issues of senior high school students with a low socio-economic
status pertaining to online classes.

Rationale:

Most people lost their jobs during the emergence of COVID-19, and as a part of that, anti-
pandemic measures were taken to help lessen the spread of the virus. Online classes were
one of the anti-pandemic measures that were implemented. Online classes were regarded
to be an ineffective learning strategy, especially for marginalized people and socio-
economically disadvantaged students. This research aims to explore the relationship
between the academic performance of a student and their socioeconomic status.

Methodology:

Interviews or survey questionnaires would be the possible methods for collecting the
research data. The researchers must interview the senior high school students in the (?
strand) and also conduct a survey questionnaire to gather enough information for the
research study.
