ASSALAMU ALAIKUM W.W
A PLEASANT AFTERNOON TO OUR DEAR PANELIST AND TO MY CO-
RESEARCHERS,
WELCOME TO THE FINAL DEFENSE OF GROUP 2.
Today we will be presenting the research we have, entitled the IMPACTS OF AL
MUNAWWARA ISLAMIC SCHOOL’S JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’
EXPOSURE TO DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY ON MORAL BEHAVIOR.

BUT BEFORE THAT, WE’D LIKE TO START BY INTRODUCING OUR SELF,

MY NAME IS HELENA M. SABANDAL, AND ------, AND WE ARE THE
GROUP 2 OF PRACTICAL RESEARCH 2.

Before starting a proper presentation, let me first discuss to you what is

the definition of terms that have been used in our research title. The word
‘impact’ basically means the influence of an action/phenomenon on
something. While the word digital technology means   data-producing, data-
storage, and data-processing electronic instruments, systems, devices, and
resources. The word moral behaviour means to behave in accordance with
one's moral ideals and values, And when we say Junior high school, they are
students from grade levels 7-10. So now, let’s move on to discuss the research
background.

First, we have the introduction, followed by the significance of the study,

the scope of the limitation, statement of the problem and the research
hypothesis.
Let the researcher first discuss the introduction of the study.

Now, it is fair to wonder why we have chosen this particular topic to deal
with, and here is the answer. First of all, with today's contemporary life,
the overwhelming majority of people are completely absorbed in
technology. Individuals are always pursuing technological goals. The vast
majority of today's youngsters rely on technology. People will use their
phones wherever they go. They couldn't even keep their hands off their
phones. Because of this, people are really exposed to a wide range of
concerns and as a result of their extensive usage of mobile phones, it
results to a certain sadness, anxiety, social isolation, and the so-called
influence on moral behaviour.
Significance of the Study

First, this will assist STEM senior high school students at Al Munawwara
Islamic School in assessing the impact of digital devices on junior high
school students.
Second, It will serve as a resource for future researchers who seek to dig
deeper into the same subject.
Third, To increase awareness of how much screen time students should
have and how digital technology impacts their health might benefit the
rest of society.
So to sum up the significance of the study, it means that it will not only
benefit the students of AMIS but also it will benefit the outside students
or those future researchers that would dig deeper into the same topic. It
will also help students to be aware of the consequence they might face
If they will have too much screen time and let their selves be soak to the
internet.

SCOPE OF LIMITATION
Our study focuses on the impact of digital technology exposure on moral conduct
among junior high school students at Al Munawwara Islamic School. Other firms that
are unrelated to our topic which is the impact of Al Munawwara Islamic School's
junior high school pupils' exposure to digital technology on moral conduct will be
omitted from this study. This study will be performed in March 2022. The research
will be carried out by distributing questionnaires or survey sheets to students at Al
Munawwara Islamic School. The researchers will be able to evaluate the extent to
which technology influences and affects junior high school students.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This quantitative study aims to determine the relationship between the impact of
digital technology on students' moral conduct. There will be two questions that the
researcher will attempt to answer, and they are as follows:
i. "What impact does digital technology have on the moral behavior of junior
high school students”
ii.“Do most of the students heavily depend on digital technology?”
These two main questions will be answered later on summary of findings of
this study. The researchers want to know the pulse of the others.

Conceptual Framework

The study literature has indicated that students in secondary schools are
mostly lacking morality due to their addiction to digital technology. This study
further takes steps to investigate some problems with a focus on junior high
school students of Al Munawwara Islamic School. The variables to be
investigated are the exposure to digital technology and its effect on moral
behavior. The independent variable in our title is the exposure to digital
technology and the dependent variable is on the moral behaviour. These
variables have been identified because the researcher hopes that by analyzing
these variables, the deep insides of the factor for student shifting behavior and
having a lack of moral behavior can be revealed, guiding secondary school in
terms of being addicted to digital technology toward such improvement.

Fast advancement of digital technology

Users can become easily distracted, impatient, and dissatisfied

Problem in balancing the digital communities’ connections and disconnections

Youngsters, teenagers, and even grown-ups cannot suppress the pull of digital devices.

Digital dependency

Developing inappropriate behavior

Damage one's personality/intellectual health

Research Method

Quantitative research design will be used.

It is aimed at discovering how many people think act, pr feel in a
specific way.

"Summary of Findings, Conclusions and Recommendation"

The findings of the study were summarized according to the statement of the
problems started in Chapter 1.

What impact does digital technology have on the moral behavior of junior
high school students?

Al Munawwara Islamic School kids at junior high school are lacking moral
behavior due to exposure to digital technology. With the statement, “Given the
question you have answered, do you believe that digital technology affected
your behaviors towards others” 18 or 40.9% of respondents agree which is the
highest frequency leaving 1 or 2.2% of respondents strongly disagree.
Therefore, junior high students do acknowledge how digital technology is
affecting their moral behavior towards others. But as the main question here,
what impact does digital technology have on the moral behavior of junior high
school students?

Based on the findings, the junior high school students of AMIS are having
difficulties in communicating with others because of too much exposure to
digital technology. They can’t see their selves interacting personally because of
the idea of communicating online is enough. They seem to ignore the traditional
way of interacting with others which is communicating them, personally.

ii. Do most of the students heavily depend on digital technology?

Yes, the majority of students heavily depend on their digital devices. In the
statement, 15 or 34% highly agree that it is easier to communicate with people
online rather than face-to-face, and 12 of them (27%) strongly agree that it is
harder to socialize with other people in person. On a personal level, this
demonstrates that they have grown socially awkward and developing digital
dependency.
Conclusion

The finding reveals that exposure to digital technology has a huge impact on the
moral behavior of Junior high school students. Students' moral behavior is
lacking as they prefer to communicate, cooperate, and interact with everybody
online. They believe that communicating personally is more hassle than online.
That's why they prefer online to personal.

Based to the responds of the respondents, there is an association between

digital gadgets and moral conduct among junior high school students. It
shows that most children of this generation are heavily dependent on
digital devices. It was determined that digital technology influenced the
moral behavior of the students.

By this, the researchers conclude that the hypothesis was presented and
seen as it was discussed that there is an association between the digital
technology and moral behaviour among the junior high school students of
AMIS.

Recommendation

Since the significant impact of digital technology on moral behaviour has

been demonstrated, students should regulate their time when using
their devices, as the majority of them do not set a goal or timer. By this,
they won't waste their whole time just holding their gadget with nothing
to work on. It will also avoid them or push them away for any
circumstances that may lead to the shifting of their behaviour or moral
behaviour towards others.

Increase student understanding of the potential consequences of

excessive use of digital technology. Students should obtain consistent
and clear information from a variety of trustworthy sources so that they
can make well-informed decisions about how they use their devices.
And this wraps up our presentation. The group 2 is open for any
questions, suggestions, comments, and recommendations. Shukran,
Wassalam.
