1. Press ADVANCED, read slow and write one main idea for each of these words.

- Evaporation is process of evaporation that changes liquid and frozen water into water vapor gas,
which then floats up into the skies to become clouds.
- Transpiration is the process when plants take up liquid water from the soil and release water vapor
into the air from their leaves.
- Precipitation is cloud droplets that combine forms heavier cloud drops that no longer can float in
the atmosphere . It can start to rain, snow, or hail
- Condensation is the process where water vapor becomes liquid and ice.

2. Why are the following words related to the Hydrosphere?

- Sun = Solar energy warms the hydrosphere. This is because solar energy is absorbed by the water
molecules in the hydrosphere which causes them to vibrate faster and thus attain a higher
temperature.
- Animal = Many gasses like CO2, O2, nutrients like ammonium and nitrite as well as other ions are
dissolved in water. The presence of these substances is essential for life to exist in water.
- Plants = plants draw water and nutrients from the soil and release water vapor into the atmosphere.
- Springs =Springs occur when water pressure causes a natural flow of groundwater onto the
earth's surface.
- Runoff= Water “Running Off” downhill the lands surface because of gravity.
